Good Friends

Cheers and laughter rang through the air. Friends hung around each other, dancing around or just sitting down and talking. People played music as they wished, and some would bring up the courage to sing.

The sun peaked over the horizon, painting the sky a mix of amethysts and darker hues of blue.

It was a lovely chaos that everyone wanted to last for eternity.

Finally, there were no more wars. Al-Thamen wasn't there anymore, and the flow of the rukh was natural once again.

It wasn't a time of mourning for the things they lost along the years, but a celebration for what they gained.

Amidst all this was a happy groom who was searching for his beloved friend. With a drink in hand and a usual warm smile, Alibaba asked around.

He went up to another couple, Sharrkan and Yamraiha. As usual, they were in a heated argument.

Yamraiha hit his chest repeatedly, stepping closer with each word she yelled. Sharrkan didn't seem to mind the closing distance and put a hand on her hip.

He pulled her closer, and grinned triumphantly when she gasped and went quiet. He put his chin atop her head, "I still say I'm right."

Before Yamraiha could begin her rant once more, Alibaba awkwardly couched.

"Alibaba! Congratulations, you're finally married! I honestly didn't think you'd have the guts to propose when I first met you." Sharrkan said.

Alibaba rubbed the back of his nape and tried laughing the comment off.

Yamraiha quickly hit Sharrkan again, though it didn't seem to bother him. " It's not like you were better off." She retorted.

Alibaba quickly noticed they were about to get into another argument, so he stepped in and asked the question that kept bugging him.

"Hey, have you guys seen Aladdin?" He asked. He tried his best not to get hopeful, but as they shook his head, he couldn't help but feel disappointed.

He went off and asked around to a lot of people he knew.

Suddenly, Alibaba was pulled back by a strong arm. He whirled around and saw his wife.

Once again he was captured in her big, pink eyes. The loving look they held sent a warm feeling to his heart.

He couldn't help but smile. The love of his life was just so beautiful.

He leaned in to his her. She wrapped her arms around him, tilted her head up and closed her eyes as her lips parted. This was immediately interrupted by a small cackle.

"Ha! To think you out of all people would get a wife? Like congratulations but that's hilarious!" Judar said, holding his stomach as he doubled over in laughter.

Hakuryuu and Kougyoku appeared almost immediately, both panting like they had running to find him.

Hakuryuu shook his head in obvious disappointment when he saw Judar, while Kougyoku raised a sleeve to her mouth and cheeks to hide her embarrassment.

"I'm so sorry for him! He's just had too much to drink and he ran off and we couldn't find him so sorry if he ruined anything-"

Alibaba walked towards the queen and waved off what she said. " It's not like I expect anything less of him."

"Hey! What do you mean by that?" Judar said, crossing his arms and giving everyone a dirty look.

Everyone ignored the magi and directed their attention towards each other.

Alibaba swung an arm over both of them and smiled cheekily.

"I'm so glad you two could make it. I know you haven't had much time since everyone's been busy discussing the borders and such."

"I killed you, so this is the least I could do." Hakuryuu said.

Morgiana, Alibaba, and even Kougyoku were taken aback at how he worded it.

"Hahaha! You kill me sometimes, Ryuu! Wait-why are you guys friends again? Hey, strong girl, your husband here was killed off by Hakuryuu and you still invite him? How am I the crazy one?"

Again, everyone ignored Judar. Hakuryuu bowed his head, "As my sister said before, Judar has had far too many drinks."

Hakuryuu glanced back at Judar, only to find his red eyes glaring back at him. Judar raised his hand and flipped Hakuryuu off.

The poor prince shook his head before turning back to the happy couple.

He smiled, "I always knew you two would end up together. Congratulations, Alibaba, Morgiana."

Morgiana nodded, her mind briefly going over to how Hakuryuu had kissed her all those years ago. Oh, how the times have changed.

Alibaba, who didn't know about this, swung an arm over his friend and laughed. "Don't be so formal. We've known each other for years. We're friends, right?"

Judar laughed again, "You're weird, you know? He killed you in cold blood and you're talking about being friends? I don't know what the twirp saw in-"

"I think it's time you shut up, Judar." Kougyoku

Kougyoku took Judar by the arm and forced him up. He writhed in her grip and tried to pull away, but with a pull to the hair and a hard tug, he was dragged away.

Hakuryuu excused himself soon after, saying that leaving a drunk Judar alone with Kougyoku would be a horrible thing to do to her.

"So, we still plan on doing that thing I asked for, right?" Morgiana asked, her smile bright.

Alibaba's mind wandered back to the conversation they had before all their guests had came. There wasn't a real plan to their wedding, since it had been thrown together by Aladdin.

However, Morgiana had long ago decided that there was a special something that she wanted done at her wedding.

She wanted to do something that made her feel free for this first time all those years ago, and with someone who helped her learn what freedom truly was.

Alibaba remembered her hopeful look as she came up and told him her idea.

"I know, but I want Aladdin to be there. He's my best man, remember?" Alibaba said, smiling a little bit.

Morgiana nodded. "I understand. He said that he wanted you to find him in return for all those times he had to find you."

Alibaba sighed, 'It's just like him to disappear at random.'

As Alibaba thanked Morgiana and walked away, he couldn't help but laugh at all the times Aladdin had disappeared with a promise to come back.

Slowly, the music and the laughter became hard to hear. He searched past the blooming flowers and the lush trees, hoping to find him.

It was getting dark now, and the stars littered the sky. Laterns were put up to light the way, much like how the rukh would light the way towards destiny.

Eventually, he ended up on a high hill. It had a nice view of the trees, the lake, and even the party.

He heard a laugh behind him. "You sure took your time."

Alibaba turned around and smiled up at his friend. Together they had fought against the fate that was bestowed upon them, and turned it into something magical and worth while.

The magi sat down Indian style, his face propped up by his hand. He smiled lazily as he played with his braided hair in one hand.

"Well you're not exactly easy to find." Alibaba replied. He took a seat next to his friend.

Aladdin simply laughed, but never made eye contact. He stared into the distance, a habit he had when he was thinking about something.

"It's crazy to think about, Alibaba. I found you all those years ago working for a horrible merchant. I was a kid back then. Now, you're married and the war is over. It's...Just the time passed so fast."

Alibaba grimaced at the mention of the older times. "It really has been a while, hasn't it? So much has changed...But you know Aladdin?"

"What?"

"We're still friends, and I want to keep it that way."

Aladdin blinked and stayed silent, before chuckling lightly. "Of course, we'll always be friends. You know, that was my wish with Ugo all that time ago. To be friends."

Alibaba nodded. "We should go back to the party Aladdin. Morg wants me and her to do something, and well I wanted you to be there too."

Aladdin perked up. "Oh? What was it?"

"You'll see when we get there."

The two made their way from the hill back to the party. The sun was beginning to set and all over people were beginning to light up some torches.

"There you are! I've been wondering when you two would come down." Morgiana said.

Alibaba and Aladdin apologized, though the three of them all grinned from ear to ear.

"You ready, Morg?" Alibaba asked. Hesitantly, she nodded.

"Everybody!" He yelled, "I would like your attention. My wife wants to perform a dance she's been working on."

Everyone quietly watched, (except Judar who was still laughing drunkenly, but he was promptly ignored) as Morgiana made her way into the stage. She appeared nervous with her hands twiddling and her movements a bit stiff.

Then the music started and something inside her woke up.

Her limbs flowed, her hips swayed to the rhythm and each step was on the beat. She lost herself to the melody and with the use of her body, she portrayed her happiness through her dancing.

Everyone was mesmerized, but no one more than Alibaba. For a moment she stopped and had her hand reaching for husband. He took it and replicated her movements clumsily. The music picked up in pace and they both felt their stress dissipate.

She was in his arms, and he was in hers. There movement constant and their eyes on each other. Their joy rang in the air as Aladdin came up. He was dragging Ja'far up on the stage, who begrudgingly came alone.

Slowly, more people joined in on the dancing. The place sparked back to life, and the beautiful chaos ensued.

"Alibaba! Aladdin!"

"Yeah Morg?" The two replied.

"I don't want this to ever end."

Aladdin laughed. "Maybe we should do this more often then."

Alibaba had that scheming look that the two spotted from a mile away. "Maybe."

That night, they partied loud and hard for as long as they could before Judar made it snow in an angry rage. The night ended with Kougyoku and Hakuryuu apologizing profusely and with giggles from a content Morgiana.
