Stay Alive

▫️Soren
"Hold on!" I heard a women say.
I was strapped down to some bed with wheels. The cart jolted with each step they took, the hallways is white as they race me down to the other end. Vestry is beside me, clenching my hand as he runs with the strangers wheeling me down the hallway, going through countless doors. The lights above me are bright as I try and crack open my eyes, I feel too weak to move.
"He is loosing a lot of blood," A man speaks. "We must get him into surgery immediately."
"Soren you better not die on me!" Vestry calls out to me. "Just do that for me... please stay alive!"
I slowly blink and realize I am breathing oxygen from a mask strapped to my face. The smell is strange, something I haven't smelt in a long time as I breath in and out.
"We have internal bleeding into both of his lungs. His left lung is basically collapsed." The women rushes along, speaking into her intercom. "Do you copy doctor?"
"Save your strength. Soren you can't go out this way," Vestry begs beside me. "You are a fighter and you will stay alive. If you don't want to stay alive, stay alive for me. I need you. That's all I ask."
I feel a needle in my arm, the medication is putting me in a drowsy sleep. I can't stay awake any longer. Vestry let's go of my hand as he stops running. The doctors take me into a restricted area. His eyes filled with fear for me as the doors that separate me from Vestry close and he is gone.
"I need you alive," Vestry yells at me. It's the last thing I hear as they take me into a dark room.
————————————————————————
My eye lids cracked open to see the surgeon working on my chest. His tools drawn away with blood. I could feel them working on my chest. It was numb, but their feeling was faint as they pulled the pieces of glass out of my chest. I couldn't breath on my own, I was hooked up to some machine I believe was keeping me alive. I felt my heart beating inside my head. I grunted in pain, trying to move.
"He's conscious!" A nurse screams and rushes to grab another needle. Two other nurses hold me down into the cold counter top.
My vision blurred in and out, focusing on the doctors, then focusing on the new guy puking his guts out in he corner trash bin. The bright lights from above make my vision go white. Then my eyes focused on a whole other spectrum, my brother Vestry. He is watching me through a glass window, his eyes are filled with panic and hopelessness. My eyes meet his. I notice he has tears in his. He is scared for me.
I hear my heart rate monitor buzz, then come to a solid beep. My heart was failing on me. My vision was in total panic. I felt the cold sting of the needle into my arm, the liquid flooded into my veins, making my arm dizzy. They strapped me back down into the table, the doctor immediately began to get my heart beating again. The sensors gave a faint pulse. A nurse put a tube onto my mouth and noes, laughing gas, I knew it all to well. It was often used as a form of torture by Mike and Luke. I was far too familiar with this stuff to be effected by it. But I breathed in the solid fumes. I felt my eyelids becoming heavy, I needed sleep, but I can't sleep. Not while Ray is not here. I needed to die. These doctors needed to let me die. Yet I know they won't.
All I wanted right now was to die. I slipped my wrists from the straps one by one, slowly so the nurses wouldn't notice. I lifted my shoulders from the table, just to feel then be pushed back down. I don't remember gravity working like this.
"Stand down." I heard an all to familiar voice. A voice that I hadn't heard in years, no decades. I had heard the voice the late Azun Watcher Zodiac.
I moved my eyes to see if he was really there. He was looking down upon me, his silver eyes glittered in the light of the room. His black hair handing slightly in his pale face. He wore the same thing I had always seen him in, a black suit and thin silver tie.
"Hi." He smiles, tears filling his eyes as he stares at me.
I couldn't speak, my tongue was tied. What would you say if you suddenly saw your dead best friend who you loved more then the world? All I could do was stare, it was him, it had to be, he even had the little scar down his jawline. I noticed he became fuzzy, like static. Almost as if he wasn't really here.
"I wish I could be back with you." Azun told me, his tears falling into my blond hair. "I would hug you and tell you how much I love you and miss you."
He ran his fingers through my hair, like how he use to before he died. I still talk to him out loud, and I wonder if he could hear me pleading—just wishing he could be here right now. My pray has been answered apparently.
"Soren." Azun said. "Sometimes you must accept the fact that certain thing will never go back to how they used to be. Watching someone you love die is an image that you won't ever forget. I know death can wreak someone. That's why I am happy you weren't there to see me die."
I nodded, trying to hold back my own tears. Azun committed suicide when Ames stole his job and Mike and Luke were forcing him to go out into the battle field and die for absolutely nothing. I know Azun's power was earth, and nothing can change that. He was viewed as useless in the eyes on many. But to me, he was my whole world. Luke, Ames and Mike took him away from me.
"Has anyone told you how handsome you look as a blond?" My brother chuckles. "It really brightens your eyes."
Yes. Yes, Azun. Please stay. I can't speak now but stay till I awake and get out of this "hospital." Please I am begging of you! I felt my eye lids close as he placed his hand on my cheek, and just like times of old, I fell asleep.
"Sleep tight Soren." Azun said his final words. "Live long, have a longer life then me. Can you do that? That's all I wish of you."
My eyelids closed, engulfing me into an endless blackness.
"Stay alive." Azun kissed my forehead. "Stay alive for Vestry. Things will get better. You will find another love."
Then he was gone.
