"Alright everybody!" Mason said as we all walked into the kitchen. "Grab some of our parents' soda and then let's go."

It was just us cousins together, Mason, Torrent, Jay, Jake, and I. We decided to have a bonfire in the backyard since our parents weren't coming home and were too busy neglecting us.

Torrent and Jay were actual brothers. Both sons of Luke and Aspen. They both had the Zodiac jet black hair and green and blue eyes. Jay had green eyes, while Torrent had one blue and one green. It was sorta cool but a bit freaky. They both always wore the same boring clothing, like jeans and a black shirt. Torrent had a fanny pack to keep his building stuff in since he loved to tinker while he talked, and also since he had ADHD. But besides that, they looked identical.

Jake was the son of Dustan and Emler. He used to have dark brown hair that was almost dark enough to be black. He also had green eyes. He had recently dyed his hair all rainbow as an act of rebellion. Jake was small, dispute being the same age as all of us. He was tiny, skinny and very weak in almost every way. He always wore skinny jeans, v-necks, and scarfs with jackets.

Mason was Azun's son. He didn't know who his mother was, none of us knew either. He just showed up when he was four with a birth certificate saying he was Azun's son since then he has lived with us. Mason had one side of his head buzzed; he had kept that black and left the other half long, dyeing it blond. He always wore skull t-shirts and had one of his ears pierced. He looked like one of those people you would avoid on the street.

"It's not enough that our parents are all powerful with their legit powers... they need to feel appreciated too," Torrent complains. He had just gotten done cleaning his parent's bathroom for them. He was so angry he had to do that. But Luke gets what he wants from his kids in the end.

We all laughed and ran outside to the giant bonfire Jake had set up earlier. Torrent quickly made a guitar out of random parts and started strumming it.

"Oh, our parents are the center of the universe." Torrent sang. "My dad is Luke he is a neurosurgeon, the best one in the whole galaxy. I wait by my phone for him to answer me.... but oh no he won't! Why would he spend time when his son? When your mom is hot, life can be rough. My friends met her once... and oh my gosh... once was enough." He stops singing and looks to Mason. "Mason?"

"Oh um...." Mason looks up and quickly starts making stuff up. "My Dad's Azun, he is dead and a coward. He was a lawyer and a sucky one too. I don't know my mom because there was no wedding... Oh and my guardian hates me and thinks I'm a pain... a mistake that was forced upon Malison one day." Mason finishes singing and looked at us all. "Everybody! Sing with me" He shouts and put a marshmallow on a stick in the fire to burn black.

We all sing: Oh things couldn't be worst! But our parents are center of the universe!

"Alright, who wants to go next?" Torrent asks. Jake raises his hand.

"My dad is Dustan, with the power of water," He sings. His voice is so high and beautiful. "He gets excited when it starts to rain. But he ran away one day, leaving me all alone! No! Am I right? For your sixteenth birthday-" He points to Jay. "You got a car, but I got a plastic bottle of water... gee thank dad!" he snaps. "My mother is Emler, she is a boring teacher. Dustin left me with her and went on a boat to explore the oceans below... and no one has seen him in a bunch of years!"

I laugh at how true all this is. We sound like some dramatic sope opera, but this is our life.

"How about you Jay?" Torrent asks him as he continues to play. I shove a marshmallow into his mouth to feed him and then start roasting more.

I glance at the stars above me. Right now the Leo constellation is above us. The hot summer air is thick on our heads and the cool breeze blows through our hair from the woods.

"The Zodiac everyone loves is my mom Aspen," Jay sings. "She tries to be nice and supportive, but mainly she is flirty," he laughs. "I bring home my friends and she is there in her nighties! Its so embarrassing!" He yells at the sky then continues singing. "She gets along with my friends, better then I do."

"Enzo!" Torrent looks to me. "It's your turn."

"No!" I object and shove my face with chocolate to prevent me from singing. "If I sing the world will explode."

"I don't see the downside of this," Jake says.

I gulp down my chocolates and chuckle then listen to Torrent's playing and then began to sing. "So my dad is some guy, who I have never met. Did he not want me, or not want the stress... too bad he is a villain to the rest! My life is a mess!! I have been kicked out of every school on Malison... I can't do anything right. I am just a mistake, or was I sent here for a reason, am I so much more than just an unwanted mistake?" I pause as I breathe for a moment. "Oh, no...."

I sing the 'oh no' part perfectly and everyone claps for me, which gives me the confidence to continue singing.

"I hope he shows even the smallest trace, cause I got some choice words to say in his face!" I yell at the sky and held up a certain finger for my dad and all my cousins cheer for me.

"I don't care who our parents are and certainly don't care what they think... as long as you all are here with me." Torrent sing, and then we all joined in. We sing all night long till the fireflies come out for the night.

We all laugh as Torrent strums the last note.
