Chapter 2

|Jacks POV|

The question looped in my head as I started packing. I tried over and over again to find an answer, but alas, I had nothing.

I sighed in disappointment. I wanted so badly to catch the next flight home and lock myself inside the house. I hated that this happened to me and that I have to make up excuses and lies. It disgusted me! I just wanted to rip it out!

I threw the rest of my stuff into a bag and grabbed the mini doughnuts. I then rushed to the parking lot and walked up to Marks car. Mark smiled and grabbed the luggage from him then slung it into his trunk.

I clambered into the passengers seat while Mark got into the drivers and they started down the road.

Mark leaned over and turned on the radio, creating quiet background music. "So," he said "How was the panel? Sorry I couldn't be there."

"The panel was good. S'all right though. I know you have places to go."I responded kindly.

They fell into an uneasy silence.

"So, um," I cleared my throat and started again,"Say, have you discussed me staying with you with Matt and Ryan?"

"They don't know, but since they are both staying with Ryan's grandmother, it doesn't really matter." Mark stated.

"Oh. Okay," I paused,"Wait. They BOTH are? Did something happen that I don't know about?"

A slow smile spread across Marks face. "They wanted to tell you themselves, but I mean no hiding it now. Lets just say that they have grown into more than friends." Mark lazily said.

"Holy hell weasel! Seriously?" I exclaimed

Yeah, I couldn't believe it either." Mark responded. "Oh! Here we are! Make sure you look out for Chica, she's starting to jump."

They pulled into the driveway of a gray split story house. I spotted the glittering reflection of the pool in the backyard. Inside booming barks reverberated off the walls, making Chica sound twenty times louder than she actually is.

"Damn. That's a big house." I finally said, awed by the size.

"Meh, you should see the ones by the coast." Mark responded. He busied himself by braking and turning the ignition off. He then grabbed my bags and they headed off inside.

"I'll show you to your room," Mark said.

"Um, thanks," Jack replied. He followed Mark upstairs and down the hall. They stopped in front of the last room on the left.

"Well, here you are," Mark said, opening the door. Inside was a queen sized bed with a night stand and a desk.  "Make yourself home."
