Another quest. Yippee.

HOW

not that I'm complaining, of course but HOW

3rd Person

"Ah, Agnostos." Reyna nodded politely at him as he entered the building. "I would like to have a word with you."

"Yes?" He raised a brow as her two automaton  dogs growled at him.

"Lord Hermes said that you are...a being from Tartarus and have accompanied Perseus Jackson through the pit before his capture." She continued, folding her hands diligently. "May I ask you to take off your hood for this journey? My fellow Praetor, Frank Zhang, is uneasy of your presence." Agnostos huffed.

"No thank you. I'd prefer to keep this hood on as to not accidentally kill anyone if they looked at me." He pursed his lips. Reyna frowned.

"I'm sorry, what did you just say?!" Aurum stepped a little closer to Reyna, snarling.

"I am a monster. Agnostos, Monster of the Unknown. Take one look at me and it'll probably kill you." He said smoothly, as if introducing himself casually. She blinked.

"One more thing." She said at last.

"And what's that?" He asked. She sucked in a breath.

"Percy Jackson was my fellow Praetor once. He was a good friend." She caressed her dogs' head. "Promise me that you will do anything in your power to avenge him to Kronos."

"I promise, Reyna." He smiled slightly. She looked satisfied, dismissing him with a wave of her hand.

"You're alive!" Hermes grinned as he walked out of the building. Percy chuckled.

"Of course I am." He smirked, hopping down the steps. "Where's Frank and Hazel?"

"Right here." Frank said, his voice low and guarded. "Hello, Agnostos."

"Ah, the legendary Frank Zhang. What a pleasure." He said sarcastically, holding out a hand to shake. He didn't shake it, instead pulling Hazel closer.

"Alright," Hermes broke the awkward silence by clapping his hands together. "I have a couple of supplies to give you all. Drachmas, ambrosia, nectar, snacks, a bottle of my vitamins, and you each get a free delivery from the Hermes' Express!" He held out three backpacks full of everything they needed.

"Thanks, Hermes." Hazel smiled sweetly.

"Thanks." Frank mumbled, taking the backpacks.

"Where do we go first?" Hermes asked Agnostos. "It's not like we can just ask a random monster where Kronos' lair is."

"I'm a monster." Agnostos said unhelpfully. Hermes facepalmed.

"The prophecy doesn't say anything, does it?" Hazel asked.

"The god of thieves must join the quest

To rescue one who knows him best

With two half-bloods who share a link

He'll face a monster on the brink

But one of them will turn their back

And lead them to a deadly trap." Hermes recited.

"Ok. I am not letting Agnostos lead us to Kronos." Frank crossed his arms.

"I'm not surprised. There's so much monster discrimination around now." Agnostos sniffed. Hazel elbowed Frank.

"Don't be so judgmental." She scolded. "You never know if one of us might turn our backs."

"Thank you! Someone who finally understands me—"

"But we should still be careful." She added, glaring at him. He groaned.

"All thoughts off of that, where should we go?" Hermes asked, nervously switching his gaze between a furious Frank and an unfazed Agnostos.

"The Labyrinth is the last place I saw them." Agnostos suggested. "We can go back there."

"I hate the Labyrinth." Hermes muttered. "What if we get lost?" Agnostos' lips stretched into a sly smile.

"Oh, I can get us anywhere easily. All monsters are guaranteed access, unless it's one of those heroic monsters like Tyson and Argus." He told them nonchalantly. "As you can see, I'm not very heroic—"

"You saved hundreds of hunters." Hermes deadpanned.

"So? Hercules saved like, a hundred thousand people, Percy Jackson saved the world, Odysseus saved a whole kingdom of people—"

"Still counts." Hermes argued. Agnostos rolled his eyes.

"Can we stop? This is getting us nowhere and we need to leave." He waited for an answer. "Thank you. Now, shall we go?"

"I have a very bad feeling about this." Frank mumbled.

"It'll be fine, Franky!" Agnostos grinned. "Oop! Are you a little...scared?" Frank glared at him angrily.

"No." He said firmly. Agnostos smiled even wider.

"Then you have nothing to worry about." He picked up the pace, seeming to randomly turn every few minutes.

"Hey Agnostos?" Frank asked.

"Hmm?"

"Are you scared?" Agnostos stiffened.

"And tell me, dear Frank, why would you ask me that?" He turned around slowly, giving him a hard stare. Frank shrugged.

"I don't know. I'm just asking." He said simply.

"If you think I'm scared, think again. I've been through Tartarus and through some wars and did things you couldn't imagine or simply live through without going so insane that even Dionysus—or Bacchus, as you call him—couldn't heal you." He spat. Frank looked a bit traumatized after that.

"'Even Dionysus couldn't heal you?'" Hermes repeated, confused. "What on earth does that mean?"

"Your mind would be shattered if you've seen what I see or went through what I went." Agnostos said softly. "Perhaps even the gods might got insane." Hermes shook his head.

"That's impossible. No one went through more that Percy Jackson or Hercules—"

"Those are all demigods." Agnostos shot back. "Have you ever thought to sympathize with the monsters that fight for the gods, the monsters that can be less horrific than some of the people here?! Have you ever thought of that?" Hermes was silent. A tense atmosphere settled over the four travelers as they continued to walk in silence.

"Here it is." Agnostos suddenly stopped at a tree, gently touching a glowing blue triangle. A giant crevice opened up in the bark, making Hazel and Frank gasp.

"Everyone, follow me. The Labyrinth is unpredictable and can separate us emit we aren't careful." Agnostos crept inside the entrance, Frank and Hazel following while Hermes tagged them in the back.

"Are we going the right way?" Hazel whispered. For once, she didn't feel the same reassurance when she was underground. Instead, she felt vulnerable and exposed. She shuddered, holding onto Frank for support. It was like being blind.

"Just a little farther." Agnostos promised. They walked in total silence, occasionally George or Martha breaking it with a comment about 'how smelly this place was.' and 'I want a rat.' and several 'George, that's rude!'s.

"Right about...here." Agnostos stopped at a tunnel. "Everyone, be quiet. We're entering Kronos' grounds now. He'll let us through, but he wants to trap us and then rip our lives out of our throats so please, don't make any sound." Hazel nodded bravely while Frank shielded her, gripping his bow and arrow.

"Let's all stay together and—" Agnostos was cut off by the sound of a shrill scream and a shout that followed.

"PERCY JACKSON!"

I was so tempted to make this a cliffhanger, but then it wouldn't be fair to you guys since you all are such awesome readers

Enjoy this present!

"Over there!" Hazel cried. "What was that?" Agnostos frowned.

"That leads to the prisons, I'm pretty sure." He murmured. "They're anticipating us to go that way. They'll probably trap us in once we're there."

"What do we do?" Hermes asked.

"Get ready to fight. Trust me." He unsheathed his sword and beckoned everyone else to follow.

"HEY BEEFHEAD! I THINK YOU'D BE BETTER OFF ADVERTISING FOR THE FRUIT OF THE LOOM UNDERWEAR, DON'T YOU?" Agnostos yelled. A low growl sounded from the shadows and the one and only Minotaur came out, nostrils flaring.

"Bai!" He slashed at it at lightning speed, not letting it have a chance at fighting.

"Go to Tartarus, Kelli!" Hazel swiped her Imperial Gold sword at Kelli the empousa. She shrieked and disappeared into gold dust.

"Die, mortal!" A kere swooped in and attacked Frank, who skillfully blocked the blows but wasn't able to get a strike in.

"Die, kere!" Agnostos thrust his sword into its heart while it wasn't looking. It screeched and staggered around wildly before dissipating into glitter.

"You will try and fail to find who you are looking for, godlings, god, and monster." A voice hissed. Hermes froze.

"Kronos." He whispered.

"We need to go and save Percy!" Frank insisted, all bitterness of Agnostos gone. Agnostos nodded, killing the last row of monsters before running forward.

"Follow me and don't get lost!" He shouted over his shoulder. They did a couple turns and twists, occasionally killing a monster but otherwise not being stopped.

"Where are they?" Hazel panted. "The monsters. Shouldn't they be attacking us?"

"I killed most of their army last time I saw them, but they're getting recruitments fast. I can sense them." Agnostos replied. "One of us isn't going to make it back." He was met with stares of horror.

"Oh, don't be so surprised. Kronos has always wanted to capture me." He said nonchalantly.

"But he'll kill you!" Frank protested.

"Aww, so you do care about me, Franks!" Agnostos smirked. Frank sighed.

"You're a valuable asset to the war." He deadpanned. "Without you, we wouldn't be able to do these quests or rescue Percy or even know that he's alive." Hermes nodded.

"We can't let them capture you." He agreed.

"But then who's going to stay behind?" Agnostos countered. "I'm the safest option. Hazel here is a child of the Big Three, Frank is the most powerful son of Ares plus a legacy of Poseidon, and Hermes is a god. No one cares about the monsters, so it makes sense that I should stay."

"Has it occurred to you that he might be bluffing and he's actually working for Kronos?" Frank whispered into Hazel's ear.

"There's a slight chance." She said softly. "But it's very small. Agnostos clearly wants to strangle Kronos right now. I mean, look at his face!" She pointed at him. His lips were pressed together with concentration, an angry snarl on his face. Obviously, he wanted to kill someone right then and there.

"The prisons are further up there." He said, sounding strained.

"How do you know so much about this place?" Frank demanded. Agnostos let outa forced laugh.

"I can sense the way the monsters up ahead are guarding the place." He explained. "Trust me. Kronos wants to kill me out of all of you, except for Hermes, maybe." They sprinted into a large room that looked like a jail. Black walls curved around them, with small cells and metal bars completing the look. It was deserted.

"I think we took a wrong—PERCY?!" Hermes looked terrified. Agnostos looked at where he was looking at and stifled a gasp. Hazel let out a strangled cry, getting closer to the cell.

"Di immortales..." Frank muttered. Percy was inside the small, three meter cell with Celestial Bronze shackles on his wrists and ankles, his Camp Half-Blood t shirt in shreds. There was a gag on his mouth, and his usual tan skin was pale and smudged with blood and dirt. He barely looked alive, with his eyes closed and his chest moving ever so slightly up and down.

"Terrible, isn't it?" A raspy voice cackled. They whipped around, turning to face the source of the voice and was met with a face they thought they would never see.

Tartarus.
