What were you going to do? You've been wracking your brain for hours, yet still, no answer came to you. It truly seemed like your situation was hopeless. What can you do? What could you do? There had to be a way out, right?
You were in denial, I suppose. Bargaining for the possibility of getting out. The soft pillows and comfy bed sheets were nothing but chains and shackles that bound you to the walls of your so-called "heaven". They called this place a "sanctuary," yet it was nothing but a prison, if not your tomb. It was infuriating; they were infuriating.
You had long ago given up on the future. You realised that no matter how hard you wanted, no matter how hard you hoped for and prayed, a knight in shining armour, "that person", would never come. If they existed, they would have saved you already.
But to the people of this world, you were already "saved" and they would not consider letting you go home.
You do not belong in this world, but they say you were always meant to be here. Without anyone ever asking your opinion, you were taken to this new world. But in order to bring someone to another world, they had to die first. You could still remember it like it was yesterday. The blaring horns, the screeching tires, the blood in your veins turning to ice while your mind raced, your body frozen in fear, yet burning with the desire to live.
To the people of your old world - your original world - you were dead, taken too soon and gone forever. You would never be able to talk to your friends again, see your family, see them see you achieve your goals.
You were never going to see them again and it was their fault. You were never going to forgive them for it. They went on and on about how much they loved you, they kept on touching you as a show of their "love", telling you to just forget about your previous, "false" life.
You wanted to cry out of frustration. Scream, shout, rip the room into shreds any time they open their mouths, hurt them the way they hurt you. You were never a violent person, yet they kept on finding ways to make you want to let out all that pent-up rage and hurt another person. Perhaps you were just as insane as them, or at least on the way.
It wasn't until the door was opened, did you snap out of your emotional state. There stood Rosaria, one of the people determined to keep you in the Serenitea Pot. You would like to claw her eyes out, hoping that it would leave you enough time to get out of here, but you knew it was pointless. She'd find you, sooner or later, and then it would be right back to your room, under even heavier guard.
You guessed that she was here to escape churchwork again. You two both knew that Barbra would not dare to come here, looking for her. There was no need for words. You just hoped that she would leave soon so you could be left alone to continue stewing in your emotions.
Yet Rosaria did something you didn't expect. Upon seeing your face, rather, the look in your eyes, she sat down next to you and pulled you close. She never did this before. The other acolytes would do this too, but somehow, this felt different. This was not some "proof of love" or anything they did to worship you.
This felt genuine and caring. You couldn't help but choke up a little when she hugged you with sincerity. Of all the people to show genuine affection for you...
"Are you tired?" She asked, stroking your hair. You couldn't hide it any longer. Not from her, unlike the others.
"Yeah, I'm tired. Completely spent, worn to the bone." You admitted as you leaned into her touch, feeling your eyes become wet.
"Out with it." She said firmly. "Tell me everything."
"You know, you're acting rather nun-like right now." You chuckled.
"Yes, the irony is not lost on me." She sighed. "I suppose that I can consider overtime just this once."
