AND PlS DONT KILL ME ToT
Percy was legitimately confused.
American Royalty? What the fuck??
Well, he wasn't that surprised. He'd seen more than that.
But...WHY WAS ANNABETH THERE?! DIDN'T HE KILL HER OR SOMETHING?
the irony of wanting my OC Jen to explain this is unbearable T-T
Everything had gone by so quickly, he thought it was a dream.
"Hey Pipes!" The blonde girl seemed like a ghost as she sat down next to the daughter of Aphrodite. He noticed a long, thick scar across her throat as the candlelight caught her features. His heart seemed to stop.
Even worse, she seemed like her thirteen-year-old self, so that brought a whole dam lot of nostalgia.
Great. Awesome. Absolutely amazing.
He hated himself for accepting Hecate's offer. He should've ran away and stayed in hiding before he got any big ideas.
"The normal sorting for the first years will now begin!" Dumbledore announced. "Abby, Regina."
"Hey, you ok, Perce?" Jen whispered from next to him. He nodded, snapping out of his trance.
"Yeah, yeah." He blinked back his stinging eyes and directed his attention to the Sorting.
"Perce, you can switch to your normal form now." Nico elbowed him. "C'mon, show Annabeth."
"SLYTHERIN!" The Sorting Hat bellowed. Sylvia skipped down the podium and sat right across Nico.
"Hi Nick!" She grinned mischievously. "You're stuck with me now!" Nico banged his head on the table exasperatedly.
if ykyk ToT
Get me out of here, Hecate. He begged to the goddess. This is torture.
"I'm going to the bathroom." He muttered as he stood up. "See you later." He shifted form to a brunette boy with hazel eyes and walked out of the Great Halls briskly.
The large corridors were empty and silent, but Percy could hear the blood roaring through his ears.
He needed to get outside. This was getting too much for his brain to handle.
He closed his eyes and focused on the water molecules around him, and he dissipated into mist.
The cold night air hit his face as he reappeared just on the shores of the Great Lake. The crickets chirped around him, and the throbbing in his ears faded. He took a breath of the fresh air. His head cleared, and his senses sharpened again. Being around...her made him feel claustrophobic. Like he was drowning in memories.
He felt someone appear behind him.
"Don't do this, Perseus." A voice hissed. "You are in danger if you disobey my rules."
"Who said I was going to obey your rules?" He turned around, facing Hecate and glaring at her icily. "You never said you were going to send the demigods of Camp Half-Blood here. You said I could've gotten away from the gods!"
"I never said that you would stay away from the demigods." She said simply, her eyes glowing eerily in the night.
"Why did you send them?" He demanded. "You know how much I've suffered in the past. They are the painful scars of memory that I have to deal with after the war with Kronos and Monster Olympus." She pursed her lips.
"I have not sent them." She murmured. "Someone more powerful has done it, and I am helpless against it." Frustration boiled in his veins.
"So you mean you don't know why Annabeth—the one that I killed—is here?" He stepped closer to her, daring her to answer as his heart thumped loudly.
"You must go back into the castle." She narrowed her eyes, avoiding his question. "I am afraid that you will face an enemy you are not ready to face." Percy's expression hardened.
"I came here to get away from the gods." He reminded her. "I only agreed to your terms because of it, and it's to protect Harry."
"You must go!" She insisted, ignoring Percy's words. "Someone is coming!"
"I don't give a shit, lady!" He blurted out. "You think I came here just so you can have a pawn in your little secret world of wizards? Well, think again. I'm not doing this. I'm done." She looked at him with a sort of pained look in her eyes and disappeared.
"You better stay away, Hecate." He growled, walking towards the water of the Great Lake. The soft folds of the waves made a welcoming sound, the sound of home.
"Hello, Perseus."
"Who's there?" Percy lashed out, being caught off-guard for once. "Show yourself!" The voice didn't answer for a while. He frowned.
"Who are you?" He ventured after a silent moment. "What do you want from me?"
"Good to see you again." The voice replied. "It has been a while since Tartarus, hasn't it?" Percy immediately paled as he recognized the voice. It was one of the Protogenos, certainly female and sounding dark and ominous.
"Nyx?" He guessed. "Is that you?" A dark shadow emerged from the night.
"We meet once more." She smiled menacingly.
"What do you want?" He repeated.
"Oh, nothing much." She dismissed the thought. "I'm just here to wonder how you're doing." Percy raised an eyebrow.
"Well, in goddess language, 'nothing much' means you want me to join your army, usually." He said dryly. "What do you really want?"
"Ok, ok, fine." She obliged. "I want you to help destroy Hecate's wizarding world." Percy snorted.
"Well, that was straightforward." He remarked, going towards the water again. "Why do you want me to do it out of all people?"
"Because you're a cold-hearted killer. A monster of darkness. An assassin." Her lips quirked into a twisted smile. "Those things are valuable to me."
"Well, you need to get your priorities straight, then." Percy replied. "I've had enough adventure for now. I'll think about it, and I'll talk to you later if I make up my mind. But for now, no." Nyx scowled.
"I'll be waiting, then." She said, pretending to not be pissed. "Consider this conversation unfinished." Her misty form completely disappeared into the shadows, and Percy was alone again.
"Finally." He muttered. "It's been a while since I've gone for a swim." He dived into the lake, clothes and all and propelled himself to the bottom of the murky water. He instantly felt rejuvenated, and he breathed a sigh of relief.
He could finally think for once. And he had a lot to think about, fortunately for him.
He was worn out by the day. His heavy eyelids started to close, and he let his head drift downward.
Just a few minutes, he thought to himself. I'll wake up soon.
Boy was he wrong.
ok i really want to end it here but i wont :3 yw
Nico Campbell's POV (the one that has heterochromia btw)—
"Nico?" Sylvia ran up to him when Dumbledore announced that it was time for bed. "Where's Perce? Isn't he supposed to be here by now?" Nico nodded, confused.
"He should've gotten here a long time ago." He said, heading towards the washrooms. "Maybe he's still in the washroom. Wait here." He stepped inside, looking around.
"Perce?" He called out. "Are you here?"
Silence.
That's weird. He thought. Did he go to the other washrooms in the castle? He had to be around here somewhere.
"He's not there." He said, walking out of the washroom. "Maybe he's in the common room. You know he doesn't seem to like Annabeth." She nodded.
"It's like he resented her, but he doesn't even know her personally." She hurried down the steps to the Slytherin common room and through the secret door of the marble staircase, Nico close behind.
"Unicorn draught!" He spoke to the cold stone wall that seemed like a dead end, but a slab of rock slid aside, revealing the eerie light of the common room shining in the dungeons. The students were all doing different things, Sophia and Katie working on a piece of parchment together, Jen reading as always, and Malfoy...wasn't even there. It was a bit suspicious, but Nico had other things to worry about.
"Has anyone seen Percy Jackson?" Sylvia shouted, her voice echoing across the walls. Sophia, Katie, and Jen looked up simultaneously.
"I haven't seen him since the Sorting." Katie frowned. "Why?"
"He's missing." Nico explained, worry lines creasing his face. "He said he would be going to the washrooms real quick, but he's not there." Katie dropped her quill.
"Oh no." She whispered. "So that's what Piper was talking about."
"What?" Sylvia asked. "What did she tell you??" Sophia scratched the back of her neck nervously.
"She told us that—"
"NICO!" Nico di Angelo burst into the common room. "Come quick. It's your metamorphmagus friend!" Nico Campbell paled.
"Where is he?" Sylvia almost screamed. "We need to find him!"
"The lake." Annabeth came in behind him. "He was at the lake." Jen furrowed her brow.
"Why was he at the lake?" She asked, the calmest out of all of them.
"I—I think someone—something—tried to—tried to kill him..." Nico di Angelo's eyes went glassy. "Come quick. Madam Pomfrey is treating him." The eight of them rushed up the stairs of the dungeon and sprinted to the Hospital Wing, each of them having their own thoughts on what happened.
This couldn't have happened to him. I just met him...
Was this a coincidence?
The Fates are cruel...
What was he even doing at the lake?
...was this because of Sirius Black?
Poor kid. He's only thirteen.
I feel like I knew him...
Is he dead? He better not be dead or I'll punch the shit out of his ghost.
"Madam Pomfrey!" Nico Campbell knocked on the doors furiously.
"What's going on? Children, you should be at your common rooms—" She froze when she saw the members of the American Royalty.
"We need to see Percy." Katie said quickly. "We need to see if he's ok."
"Come on in, come in." The healing witch said, beckoning them in nervously. "He's doing quite well for someone who almost drowned." A pang of fear pierced Nico Campbell's heart as the doors revealed the patient in the Healing Wing.
