Ash had watched someone she knew fall by the blade, had a sword held to her as her own life was at risk, seen the twisted joy some took in the needless pain.

Maybe her father had never wanted her to see this, and maybe Ash wished she never had, but it found her.  No, she never had any desire to be taught, and the idea she needed it rocked her to he core.
