Everyone had left the Mikaelson house and headed for Keith's car. Everyone except for Cassidy. She laughed slightly, shaking her head at them.

In explanation, she said, "You can't drive through New Orleans, almost everyone walks!" They all had their share of confused, but understanding looks and walked away from the car. Cassidy smiled at them as they walked over. This was gonna be a great birthday.

The streets of New Orleans were filled with tourists, locals, and, to observing eyes, vampires, and witches. Cassidy loved that her friends knew what she was, and Amber was one, too. It made life easier.

"Where to first?" Cassidy asked, stopping in front of her friends. "We could go to the bar or- to be honest, the bar is the only place I've been to rather than the house."

"Sounds good," Keith replied as the others nodded.

"I'm not getting drunk this time though, I think I'm still hung over from your 21st birthday," Macy told her.

"That was three years ago! But I agree," Cassidy said. Then, they started walking down the streets once again, only stopping when Cassidy noticed the familiar bar. They all entered, with the birthday girl leading the way. You could smell the slight tinge of bourbon in the air, and the good cooking. They all walked up to the bar and sat in stools next to each other.

"Sophie. How have you been, darlin'?" Cassidy greeted as if they were old friends, but she'd only been here once.

"Honestly, I don't remember your name so...What would you like to drink?" Sophie said dully.

"Scotch," Cassidy mumbled. Keith and the rest ordered beers.

The group had their laughs about old times and funny things on twitter. They talked about Keith's brother and how much he loves pie and how he named his car. They pretty much talked about everything....until...

Ring. Ring.

Cassidy picked her phone off of the counter and read the most annoying name.

"Klaus, why are you bothering me?" she asked in a bored tone.

"I'm not bothering you! You like when I talk to you," he tried to convince.

"If this is some hypnosis thing, it is not working," she could hear Rebekah laughing in the background, "tell Rowena I said hello." Then, the blonde girl stopped laughing in the background of the call.

"Listen!" Klaus shouted urgently, "I need help! Hayley-"

"I don't particularly like Hayley," Cassidy told him, shrugging although he couldn't see her.

"Let me finish. Hayley was taken or she ran off, I don't know!"

Cassidy rolled her eyes, but complied, "We will be back ASAP."

"Good," Klaus said and hung up.

After explaining what was happening, Cassidy led Keith, Amber, Macy, and Aaron back to the house as quick as they could run.

Upon arriving, Cassidy and her friends had quickly entered the house to see no one at first. She walked into the living room and people- who she didn't know- jumped out from behind furniture yelling, "Surprise!"

She smiled at them and spotted Klaus, Rebekah, Hayley, and an annoyed Marcel standing together at the back of the room. She smiled and thanked them, and enjoyed a good party.

"So, love," Klaus greeted, coming up to Cassidy as she watched her friends party with strangers, a content smile on her face, "how's the party?"

"You know," she said with a smirk, "you can't buy friendship." He frowned for a moment, but quickly tried to hide it.

"I can't be nice?" he asked.

"It doesn't seem like you," she shrugged, "it's a nice party though." And she walked away again.

She had nice conversations with Rebekah about the party, and Rebekah was also talking about all Klaus' good qualities. Cassidy even talked to Hayley. It was just small talk, but at least she was being kind, both of them.

At the end of the night, Cassidy was with her friends and laughing again.
