there is no such thing as a hidden talent
i'd like to believe talents are rather apparent

for long I wondered
what could my hidden talent be?
for long I searched for answers
what could my hidden talent be?

alas, I never found an answer
therefore I believed I had no talent
hidden or apparent
and I lived life, thinking I'm no special

then here I am
writing to you
with a newfound talent
and skill

writing, reading, designing,
public speaking, teaching,
baking, bird-rearing,
and some more... which I'm yet to harness

the concept of hidden talent
in my opinion
is a talent that you could have
if you strive to learn its skills

it's hidden, because you haven't made an effort
to harness its skill
rather than to belive
that it's a talent within you that you will find
one day

so you are talented
maybe you're just a few steps,
or people, away from harnessing
the skill of that talent

hidden talents are waiting
to be discovered by your working hand
and sharp mind
and loving, determined heart
