The weekend went by very fast. My sister and I got to bond with each other even more, and we found out that we actually had a lot of things in common.

I loved how she made me feel like I was her first priority and cancelled whole her weekend plans just to hang out with me.

But now it was Monday. I was going to come face to face with Wave. I wasn't ready to see him again nor was I ready to have the conversation about what occurred Friday night at Caleb's.

"can we get some coffee before we head over to school?" Evie questioned me on our way to school.

" Your car your rules." I said with a shrug.

She just rolled her eyes and continued driving. We reached at the coffee shop that was a few miles from our school. We exited the car and headed inside over to the counter were she ordered two cappuccino for herself and a latte with almond milk for me.

I foolishly grinned at how she remembered my favorite coffee.

" you might want to slow down on the caffeine there sis." I said with a smug look on my face.

" you don't get to tell me what to do," she said with squinted eyes, " one's for Penny." She said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Awww!! She's buying for her girlfriend." I said to her in a teasing voice.

"Shut up you dumbass." She said and then punched me on my shoulder. " ouch! That hurts" I cried dramatically, scrunching my shoulder. She just rolled her eyes at me and grabbed our order then walked out leaving me behind. I ran up to her and got to the car. She then drove us to school.

I really enjoyed Evie's company. She made me feel happy and loved, and almost forget about my miserable life. Almost. I didn't still consider that place to be my home but I found one in her, and I wasn't going to lose or trade her for anything in the world.

We arrived at school after a few minutes and my internal turmoil returned, I felt nervous and unsure of how I'd survive the day with Wave lurking around.

I decided I was going to avoid him like a plague, no matter what it took, i would put my stupid feelings for him aside because I needed to save myself from the questions that would follow if I were to run into him.

I bumped into Martin on my way to my locker.

" Sky! My man." He shouted and fist bumped me. "Whatsup?"

"Not much, sup with you?" I questioned him back

He just shrugged and answered, "not much." And then continued with , " We went crazy looking for you after your disappearance on Friday, where did you go?"

" I got tired and asked Wave to drive me home.?" I simply said.

"Of course you had. " he rolled his eyes, "Anyways Are you and Lizzy a thing?" He asked out of the blue.

" wh-what?" I was dumbfounded by his question.

" you and Lizzy, I mean, she kept on asking about you the whole night on Friday and once you didn't return she got up and angrily stomped out of the house and left." He said and demonstrated how she stomped her feet. The action made us both laugh out loud. Martin was a very funny boy, I would give him that.

" speaking of the devil." He said looking over my back , I turned and followed his gaze and saw Lizzy walking up to us with a big smile plastered on her face.

"Hey Martin, hey Sky." She said while trying to seductively push her hair off her face while maintaining eye contact with me. I almost gagged at the action.

Don't get me wrong though, Lizzy was a great girl. Tall, perfect body, big boobs, brown eyes, nice hair and the head cheerleader. Any guy could easily fall for her but she wasn't my type, I just didn't swing that way.

"Hey Lizzy." Martin and I said at the same time.

She turned to me, "So Skylar, I'm having this party at my house on Saturday night and I was hoping you could come." She said direct to the point.

" I'd love to." I said to her internally scolding myself for for agreeing.

"' fuck!! 'I'd love to?' what's wrong with me ???"'

"Great! see you around then, " She happily said, " we should hang out sometime."

"I guess that's my queue to leave, see you later guys " Martin interrupted. He winked at me then did some fucking gestures with his hands when Lizzy wasn't looking, before he left.

I internally cringed at Martin's action. 'sigh.God help me.' I thought to myself.

I really didn't want to lead Lizzy on so I decided to tell her about my sexuality and that the two of us couldn't happen . But before I could alter any word, the bell rang signaling the start of first period, she quickly gave me a hug and ran off to her first class while saying goodbye to me.

I remained watching her retreating back in the hallway with my mouth slightly agape.

' Damn did she just hug me '

Classes went by very fast and school was over. I had managed to avoid Wave the whole day. I didn't go to the cafeteria for lunch nor did i sit in the Janitor's closet because I knew he would be at those two places. I know I sounded paranoid but I wasn't taking any chances. I ended up not having lunch at all.

I wasn't starving though, I was used having to go days without eating anything back at my father's house so a few hours felt like nothing.

I decided to use the bathroom before heading out to the parking lot to meet Evie.

I found a few guys in the bathroom who seemed like football players if I wasn't mistaken.

They all gave me weird looks but I decided not to pay attention to them because the last thing I wanted was to get into trouble with anyone or the school.

I went to an empty stall, did my business then hurringly went to the sink to wash my hands.

I heard the guys from earlier mumbling about something amongst themselves then before I could register what they were saying, one came up to me and stood in front of me with an angry expression. I was intimidated by how huge he was but I didn't show it.

" What's your business with Lizzy?" The one who stood in front of me said spitting at my face due to our close proximity.

"I have no business with her." I carefully said seemingly confused by his question.

He aggressively shoved me, my back hitting the wall hard. Pain shot throughout my body but it wasn't something I hadn't experienced before.

"Don't fucking lie to me, I saw her fucking hug you this morning. So you tell me now what the fuck is going on between the two of you or I'll fucking beat you up that you won't be able to recognize your fucking face." He snarled at me.

"Look man, I'm telling you the truth. The two of us are not even close." I tried to reason but he wouldn't listen instead he punched me on my left cheek.

"Looks like the little fucker doesn't want to talk, boys why don't you help me teach this loser one or two things about not stealing other people's girlfriends." The boy said signaling to his minions to help him with his task.

They all gang up on me and started beating me. They beat me so had but I couldn't feel anything at all. I was already numb to pain. They kicked me everywhere and I didn't even flinch, I didn't even try to stop them.

I was too tired to do anything thing, I felt myself slowly losing consciousness untill I heard the door open then i saw Wave walk in and everything went black.
