Part 3
Three years before the Villains and Hero's became prominent.
Roman watched as his hands sparked and lit up with fire. He smiled, continuing down the street, waving at a very cute male with a light blush. The male waved back confused, continuing down the street. He laughed lightly, looking around. He glared at the police who always seemed to be arresting someone. He went over to the small crowd.
"What's happening here?" He asked someone. They looked at him, their eyes flashing.
"Just another scientist that went off the hinges and had an experiment go wrong... Think of all the people he could've hurt! And his power doesn't help his case any! Apparently he can read minds... What if he read mine? Or yours! He could steal so much information! Someone with that power shouldn't be out in public" Roman raised a brow, looking to the person getting arrested. He seemed calm enough, he didn't seem dangerous either, many scientists have experiments go wrong, what made this one so bad? Experiments going wrong is what made them learn more.
"What was the experiment?" Roman asked.
"I heard he was testing pain responses to powers that mess with your mind." Someone shuttered. "Someone almost died..." Someone else mumbled. "I heard that he let out a poisonous gas!" Roman rolled his eyes, he could tell these people were just spreading rumors. He pushed to the front, going up to a police officer.
"What happened?" He asked. The police officer rolled his eyes with a groan.
"Scientist gone mad again, claims that he's made a liquid that can alter someone's power, to make it stronger or whatever." The person explained.
"How is that bad?" Roman asked genuinely confused.
"It could easily go wrong and injure someone. If someone has a strength power and took that, they could easily rip their muscles or whatever, his experiments are lucrative, made by a psychopath" Roman nodded, feeling bad for the scientist, something like that could easily help people with weaker powers, especially if it was more of a military setting and not for the general public. Roman shook his head, walking away from the crowd, it seemed like everyday now people got arrested for things that made no sense. Just last week, two little kids got arrested in a sense for accidental using their powers for the first time in public, which made a small commotion. It was insane what people got arrested for nowadays. Roman sighed. Someone had to fix it, the city's justice system was out of control. An idea popped up in his head. He smiled.
Roman adjusted his sash, then fixed his mask, he had to do something about the justice system. If he could catch actually bad people, and turn them in, maybe the system would realize. That or he'd just try and get the innocent people out of the so called trouble they were supposedly in. That would probably be a better idea. He rolled his eyes at the thought, looking down to the street.
"Who are you?" Someone had asked him a few days later. Roman smiled.
"Well I'm a hero, here to fix the justice system that seems to be doing so many of the innocent citizens wrong" Roman announced loudly over the crowd that gathered.
"What do you mean fix! Our justice system is fine! It sounds like you are trying to make it so psychopaths like you and murders are aloud to run free!" Someone in the crowd yelled.
"Yeah!" Someone agree, then more and more of the crowd started to agree. Roman hesitated, backing up a little.
"Your no hero! You- Your a villain!" Someone yelled in a panic. Romain eyes widened, watching as some fled in fear, and other became even more enraged.
"Villain!" The people chanted. Roman gulped, quickly fleeing from the crowd. He rushed back to his hideout, which in all reality, was the house his parents had given him, taking off the stupid costume. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Roman thought bitterly, of course the people would believe that. The peoples views were just as bad as the systems. They were blinded in their ways. Roman growled, throwing his costume on the floor of his room, leaving it there and falling onto his bed. Fine, if they want a villain, ill just have to prove them wrong. Roman thought to himself, rolling on his side with tears in his eyes. Just not today...
