Part 13
Janus hummed softly, shifting in Virgil's hold, looking at the door that just opened. He saw Logan step in, setting new clothes on the bed, shooting a worrying look towards the two on the floor.
"Why are you starring..." Janus muttered softly. Logan flinched, lightly, not expecting Janus to be awake.
"Are you not uncomfortable on the floor? If you don't like the placement of the bed I could move it." Logan explained softly, smoothing his shirt. Janus pursed his lips, looking at Virgil before slipping out of his hold.
"Could you move the bed against a wall? Like... so two sides are against the wall?" Janus mumbled, looking at Virgil. Logan nodded.
"Any specific wall?" Janus glanced at Virgil, frowning. "Ah" Logan said softly, his eyes flickering blue before becoming a solid blue glow, picking all the bedding off the floor along with Virgil, before the bed moved itself to where Virgil was a moment ago. It now sat against two walls, making Janus smile softly. Janus watched as Virgil was set on the bed softly, along with the bedding covering him better before all the blue glow flickered out. Janus looked on in awe, looking over to Logan. He grinned.
"Thank you!" Janus said happily, he turned at the sound of Virgil groaning, watching his brother sit up with confusion written over his face.
"What..." Virgil muttered before squeaking and pushing himself back farther in the bed. "Janus!" Virgil hissed. Janus tilted his head with a frown.
"Whattttt?" Janus whined, going to the bed.
"Don't talk with them! What if they're mean? What if they're trying to build our trust just to hurt us, what if he's just trying to hurt us! You can't trust them" Virgil hissed out quietly, pulling Janus into his arms.
"I hope you know I have no ill intent towards you" Logan explained, fixing his glasses. "I simply wanted to give you two new clothes and to tell you that the bathroom is just the first door on the left just outside your door." Logan said, pointing to the clothes on the dressers. "I'm sure you have different taste in clothes then this, but until we go out to the shops these will have to due, I apologize" Logan further explained before nodding lightly and walking out of the room. Janus watched as Virgil relaxed lightly.
"He's nice!" Janus giggled, breaking out of Virgil's hold, going to the clothes. He gasped lightly. "Virgil! Look at this! It has a painting on it!" Janus giggled, throwing it at Virgil. Virgil caught it clumsily, groaning as he twisted in a way that hurt his ribs. Janus pursed his lips, slowly and gently taking a dark purple shirt from the small pile. "I think they're rich..." Janus mumbled.
"What why?" Virgil asked, rubbing his side.
"Look at this purple shirt! They must be royalty!" Virgil stared at the shirt in pure confusion. "I'm going to ask them next time!" Janus laughed lightly, carefully putting the shirt down mumbling about how he has to be careful with it.
"No you aren't" Virgil sighed.
"What wh-"
"We can't trust them Janus... I know you want to, but think about what we just came from. As soon as they find out how to send us back to heaven, well, you back, they're going to 'interrogate' us." Virgil explained softly. Janus frowned.
"But... The angel data banks says there good..." Janus muttered, his eyes flashing gold for just a moment. Virgil shook his head.
"I don't care. The future changes constantly" Virgil sighed, looking at the floor. "I'm sorry Janus, but we have to be careful." A knock sounded at the door, and Virgil jumped back while Janus just stared at it. Another knock, and Janus tilted his head.
"Why is he just knocking?" Janus asked Virgil, glancing back at the purple shirt. The door slowly opened, Roman stepping in with his eyes closed.
"May I open my eyes?" Janus giggled lightly.
"I don't know why your asking, this is technically your room isn't it?" Janus asked softly. Roman laughed lightly.
"It's common courtesy" Roman explained, looking at the purple shirt. "Do you not like the shirt? I'm sure I could find something else" Roman said worriedly, looking at Virgil still in the bed.
"Are you sure it's for us? I mean. It's purple!" Janus muttered, staring at the shirt with pure confusion. "Are you guys rich? Royal?" Janus questioned before gasping. "Did you steal it?" He whispered. Roman smiled softly, confusion clear.
"Uhm... we just bought it awhile ago? We aren't royal or anything, definitely not rich" Roman said softly. Janus pursed his lips, frowning.
"Well... how'd you get it? What's buying?" Roman stared at him.
"What-" Roman said simply confused.
Virgil glared Logan down, glancing at Janus who was sewing over in the corner thanks to Roman.
"No" Virgil muttered.
"Virgil, I need to tend to your most likely broken or bruised ribs. I know as an angel you can probably heal yourself but with how weak you are currently I don't feel like that's be the best idea" Logan explained. Virgil shook his head again.
"You aren't touching me or using your weird mind power thingy" Virgil hissed. Janus frowned.
"V... he's just trying to help" Janus muttered from his small pile of blankets.
"Janus, shut up" Virgil growled, glaring Logan down still. Janus stared at him with a open mouth, before rubbing his eyes and looking back at his small project. Roman came in soon after.
"I got you some patterns! My mom must of left them here" Roman smiled, crouching in front of Janus. Janus' nose crinkled at the smell of smoke on Roman, biting his lip at the slight fear that ran through him.
"T-Thank you" Janus muttered, taking the patterns from Roman. "Patterns help you cut the fabric so you don't waste a ton right?" Roman nodded lightly. Janus smiled. "That's awesome" Janus looked up at Roman, before his eyes darted back to his brother and Logan.
"Please, Virgil, I'll leave you be for the most part after words, but I need to tend to your wounds." Virgil's eyes narrowed before he glanced at Janus and sighed.
"Fine! Fine whatever" Vrigil huffed, his wings uncovering him and disappearing into his back. Logan sighed with a nod, finally stepping towards Virgil.
