Feyre Archeron- Owe (c)
It broke you to see the concern and uncertainty that Feyre held. Since she had joined you and your friends in the Night Court, you knew it was best to not mention Tamlin or the Spring Court, but you could see that it was eating away at her, destroying the happiness that she could have had there in her new home.
You didn't want to overstep a boundary in bringing up the topic, but you couldn't stand back and watch as she punished herself for following what she wanted. It was obvious to everyone that she was in love with Rhys, that she found happiness beyond anything she had ever had with him, yet she still had part of her stuck across the continent, whether that's what she wanted or not.
"Feyre," you sighed. "Please tell me if I am overstepping but I cannot stand by any longer and see the pain in your eyes when you look at all of us, look at Velaris, look at Rhys."
A lump in her throat bobbed as she feared what you were going to say, fearing how you would talk of matters that she wished would stay dead and buried.
"I don't know what you mean."
"I don't know if part of you still loves Tamlin, I'd understand if you did but I know that you also hate him, and I know of what he did to you. You are clearly happy here, but I can see that you're holding back, is it because of him?"
She frowned. "You don't understand. He did so much for me. He did so much wrong but the good was still there."
You shook your head, offering her a gentle smile. It was a hard line to place but that didn't mean that she couldn't be happy because he had shown her kindness when she was in her weakest state.
"You can be grateful without letting yourself lose your happiness. You don't owe him anything, Feyre. All the good he did was retracted when he refused to treat you like a person. The only person you owe anything to is yourself, and you owe yourself happiness. Please don't let him destroy you, destroy your chance at happiness," you practically begged her. "If being here makes you happy, then you're allowed that. You're allowed to love and feel and be the beautiful strong woman you are, and most important, you are allowed to see that Tamlin didn't make you that, you did. If you ever doubt it, every single one of us will remind you. We've all been there. We've all felt guilty for being happy, guilty for finding something to love, something to make us smile but at some point, we all realised that life sucks most of the time, so when there is joy, when you find your family and those who bring you happiness, then you deserve to hold onto that."
Feyre nodded her head, taking in the words you said, thinking them through, trying to figure it all out in her mind, only two words escaping her.
"Thank you."
