...Y/N...

...Open your eyes...

...

Open your eyes...

A young man begins to groan, slowly opening his eyes as he was commanded to. As he begins to open them, a bright blue light was seemingly hovering over him.

Open your eyes. Wake up, Y/N.

The young man, known as Y/N, slowly flutters his eyes open. His vision slowly begins to clear up, him feeling a sensation around him. There was liquid, water surrounding him, but his face was risen up, just enough for him to breathe. The water around him begins to drain, Y/N looking up slightly to gaze down at his lower body.

He was bare, the only clothing that he had on was his underwear. And already, he begun to ponder. How did he get here? Why was he here?

Who was calling out to him? And how did this person know his name?

Forcing himself up, he sees he was in a bath-like area. He looks around the room, the chamber he was in wasn't dark, but only slightly illuminated by the blue light above him. Swinging his legs over the slightly elevated walls of the bath, he maneuvers himself over to have his feet to touch the ground.

It was cold, his feet making sounds as he was wet. The water still stuck to his skin. He looked to his left to see some sort of pedestal, containing some sort of rectangular object. He was curious, Y/N slowly walking towards it.

As he drew closer to the pedestal, it glowed a bright blue. In the middle, a small pedestal rose up, spinning the rectangular object to face it's back towards Y/N. Despite seeing this object for the first time, Y/N couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity off of it.

The object was a rectangle, a handle bar at the top. On it's back was an engraving, to that of a dragon's. In the center of the object was a strange glowing orb.The voice he once heard then speaks again.

That is a Sheikah Slate. Take it. It will help guide you after your long slumber.

Y/N picked up the Sheikah Slate, the pedestal that formed in the middle going back to it's original position. The wall that was in front of him then begins to rise upwards, revealing it to be a door that had opened into another room.

Inside the new room were two chests, lined up in front of Y/N. He walked up to them and opened them both. The first one contained an old shirt, the sleeves were a bit on the short side and were coming apart at the seams. It was better than nothing at least. The other chest contained some old trousers. The legs were a bit short, but they were comfortable at least. Like the shirt, they were better than nothing.

He had a strap on that was slung over his shoulder and the slate that he had was clipped onto it. The trousers had also come with pouches and other bags for him to use. After putting on the clothes, he walked up to the small path, heading for the glowing pedestal on his right, it glowing a bright orange. He saw it's glowing center, Y/N looking down to his waist.

He then got an idea. Grabbing the slate he had recently acquired, he faced it on the other side and ran it across the pedestal. A blue shine then occurred, the former orange light receding. The walls then began to move, it revealing an open path, a bright light shining through. Y/N covers his eyes, the bright light shining his eyes.

Y/N stepped towards the center, staring at the steps in front of him. He then looks back up at the entrance, once again that mysterious voice speaking to him.

...

...Y/N...

...Y/N...you are the light--our light--that must shine upon this world once again. Now, go...

He wasn't sure who the voice was. Y/N was confused as to who he even was. What was his purpose? Why did he suddenly wake up in that room without any recollection of who he was?

But what he did know was that he couldn't stay here any longer if. If he did, he wouldn't get the answers he was seeking.

With a determined look, he put one foot onto the first step. He turned his head around to look at the bath he was once in. He sighs as he turns back up to the outside. Picking up the pace, he races up the steps and runs out, his shoes making light sounds as his covered feet were now running across the grass. He then stops, coming across a small overlook of the land.

As his gaze was cast on the vast, grassy land, he could see a castle walls in the background. Further back, there was a castle. Y/N could tell it was an iconic landmark. He then glances towards his right, seeing a cloaked man looking at him. Once the cloaked man noticed Y/N's stare on him, he turns around, heading towards a campfire. Y/N was confused as to why the cloaked man was staring at him, so curious enough, he walked down towards him.

Before he even got halfway down the slope, he stopped. The mysterious voice then spoke to him again.

...

...Y/N...

...Y/N..

Head for the point marked on the map in your Sheikah Slate.

Doing as he was instructed, he grabbed the Sheikah Slate from his waist. It then took him to the map function, the map having already been mapped out completely for him. He then notices a glowing yellow point on his map. The point was specifically telling him to go to the landmark he had saw on the overlook. It was called the Halidom.

The country, or rather the continent, he was on was called Ylisse. The neighboring countries nearby were Plegia and Ferox. He zoomed out on the map, west of the continent of Ylisse was the continent called Valm. While curious of these locations and how they were mapped for him, he puts the slate back on his waist. His first order of business was to collect answers, which was to head down to this Halidom location.

As he headed down the slope, the cloaked man noticed him.

Mysterious Stranger: Ho, there! Come sit down by the fire! You must be exhausted.

Y/N only nodded, walking to the fire as he spots an apple sitting next to the fire. It was a baked apple, Y/N picking it up to examine it.

Mysterious Stranger: I beg your pardon! I believe that is my baked apple! You can't just go about taking whatever you please!

As Y/N was about to relent and put the apple back down, the cloaked man chuckled. This made Y/N confused. Did the stranger not berate him for picking up the apple and he was now laughing at him? Was this man mocking him?

Mysterious Stranger: Forgive me--I could not resist pulling your leg. Please help yourself. An apple and an open flame do make for a succulent treat.

Y/N nodded as he sat down, cross-legged. He took a bite out of the baked apple, the flavor exploding in Y/N's mouth. It was delicious, which was all he could think. As Y/N ate, he noticed the cloaked man staring at him intently. He was able to see the man's eye color, it being a dark blue. Y/N tilts his head in slight confusion.

Mysterious Stranger: Oh, forgive me for staring. It's just, you remind me of an old friend of mine. Strangely enough, you have an uncanny resemblance to him. He, too, had dirty blonde hair with bright blue eyes.

Y/N nods.

Mysterious Stranger: Can you not speak?

Y/N opened his mouth, but he wasn't sure what to say. What should he ask?

Mysterious Stranger: Hmm...you know, it is a bit strange to see another soul in these parts.

Y/N: ...Who...who are you?

Mysterious Stranger: So you do know how to speak! Hmm, me? Well, I'll spare you my life story. I'm just an old fool who has lived here, alone, for quite some time now. What brings a bright-eyed young man to a place like this?

Y/N: (looks around) Where are we?

Mysterious Stranger: Answering a question with a question. That is fair enough. I cannot imagine our meeting to be a simple coincidence...I shall tell you. This is just a simple Ylissean plateau. According to legend, this is where a young knight and a princess from another world appeared.

The cloaked man then stood up, now looking at something. Y/N follows his gaze to see a large, but dilapidated structure. In fact, it was falling apart. It looked to be some sort of church or cathedral.

Mysterious Stranger: That temple there...long ago, it was the site of many sacred ceremonies to honor those two. But those were many years ago. Eventually, that legend of those two would fade and this structure has sat abandoned, in a state of decay.

Y/N: I...see...

Mysterious Stranger: Yet another forgotten entity. A mere ghost of it's former self...

For some reason, Y/N felt a sense of familiarity from the structure. And so he decided to head towards it. Entering inside the dilapidated structure, Y/N still felt that sense of familiarity. Even though it was his first time heading inside.

Over in the corner was a chest, Y/N heading towards it. It was already unlocked, Y/N crouching down slightly, lifting it open to see what was inside. It was a simple wooden bow with a few bundle of arrows. Along with a quiver, Y/N slings the bow over his shoulder and puts the quiver with arrows inside, hanging on his waist on his lower back.

Y/N then looks back to the main sanctum of the structure. Near the end of the cathedral was a large statue, it seemingly radiating off a holy feeling. Or a divine presence of sorts. Y/N then clutches his head in pain. He was...remembering something.

In this new memory he had found, he was walking up to the alter. There, was a woman. She had golden blonde hair herself, the woman having a distinct clothing, colored blue. The woman then turned around. Y/N couldn't see her face, or rather, he just couldn't remember it. All he saw was, the woman opening her mouth with a smile. She was saying something. But what?

Then, the memory ended there. The pain in his head stopped. Y/N was panting heavily, many questions already roaming around in his mind. The biggest one was...who was that woman?

He then heard footsteps behind him. Turning around, he sees it was the mysterious stranger from before.

Mysterious Stranger: What is wrong, young man? You seem to be looking a bit pale.

Y/N: I...saw something. Before this building was...what it is now...I saw something. There was a woman...but I wasn't able to see her face. Who was she?

Mysterious Stranger: (murmurs) Already? He's remembering something that fast?

Y/N: Wh-What's going on? What are you muttering about?

The stranger could see that Y/N was confused. Then again, he wasn't surprised. He'd be confused himself if he didn't know who he was. He'd be searching for answers himself.

Mysterious Stranger: While it came quicker than I expected, I think it's finally time.

Y/N: Time? Time for what?

Mysterious Stranger: Y/N, it is finally time for me to tell you everything. Meet me up on the roof, in the tower of this structure. I shall wait for you there. However, it is up to you if you wish to know everything.

Y/N: Wh-What are you talking about?

Mysterious Stranger: Do you understand?

Y/N: Understand? Understand what? Wh-Who are you!?

Mysterious Stranger: There...I will...be waiting...

His voice begins to fade, the stranger being enveloped by a bright blue light. Y/N covers his eyes, then opening them to see that the stranger had disappeared.

Y/N grunts to himself in annoyance, him glancing over to the horizon. He was surprised to see the sun already setting, it feeling like it was only the afternoon. The morning, even. But either way, the stranger had said for him to meet him on the roof if he wished for answers. With his choice made up, he heads out the building, going around it's side to find a ladder. Climbing it, he makes his way up to the roof.

And what was the prologue for my FE Awakening fanfic. As you can, you're pretty much Link but you actually talk. Sure, he'll be silent, like Link is pretty much, but you'll actually talk instead of not talking like he is in the game. And as you can see, I'm borrowing elements from Breath of the Wild.

Originally, I was going to base it off someone else. The first time, I thought of basing it off of Kirito. Then I thought, Cloud Strife could be a good base, but then I thought about Link. His sword fighting style works, and I felt like mixing a bit of Breath of the Wild with it can be interesting to the story. Who knows? We'll see how it goes.

Now, a lot of people who do FE fanfics tend to do harems. And you all know how I roll, I don't like harems. So strictly speaking, I'm not going to do one. So for those of y'all who are hoping for harems, sorry, but I'm not going to do it. If you don't like it, don't PM me about it to change it or leave comments to change it. Just don't read the story.

Now, there are also many pairings to do, but I'm gonna go with Cordelia. Why? She's just my all time favorite Awakening waifu. I'm probably pairing up Chrom with Sumia, or female Robin, not sure about the other characters, but I'll probably base it off the supports I've done on my actual Awakening profile.

So, anyway, I thank you all for reading and I hope you await for the next one.
