Chapter 31
Third person pov
Sasuke's eye wouldn't stop twitching.
"Dude, why is the Kazekage here?" Shisui questioned, scratching his head as his brain struggled to process what it was seeing. The rather well known criminal, Hidan, sat at a table with Konoha's head interrogator, Ibiki Morino. They sipped coffee leisurely, seemingly unaffected all the people present in the room.
The heir of the Nara clan, Shikamaru, sat next to the Kazekage and who he thought may have been the Kazekage's son. The boy looked annoyed, a dry look in his coal eyes. The jinchuuriki of the village seemed like the icing on the cake, all but it the lap of the Kazekage's son. The pair were hugging, and Shisui was pretty sure the blonde was crying. The redheaded boy only looked slightly embarrassed, patting Naruto's back like he was some sort of dog.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Sasuke hissed as the Kazekage awkwardly twiddled his thumbs, giving the pissed off Shikamaru a sidelong glance every once and a while. He rocked side to side, whistling innocently in a way that wasn't very Kazekage-like at all! Sasuke wondered if things could get any worse than they already were. If people kept coming back and into the past, they wouldn't need to save the future. Everyone would be here anyway, and the past would be ruined!
"Ah, Shisui Uchiha." Ibiki noted, not looking up from his newspaper. He hadn't gotten a chance to read it this morning. At least, not all of it. He was a man who liked to stay up to date with what was happening in the village. Not that any of it really mattered. He had a good memory, so whatever he didn't remember happening in the future probably wasn't all that important.
"Dude, seriously, what is going on?" Shisui felt slightly dizzy at this point. What shit was his cousin in now?
"Gaara's alive and his dad is too!" Naruto all but wailed, wiping his face on Gaara's shirt. The redhead didn't seem too fazed by it, a rather bored look on his face as he patted his friend's back. Naruto and Gaara had been good friends during the war, both of them having become close when they were younger. Their bond had strengthened as they went through battle after battle together.
"Why's your cousin here?" Shikamaru glared up at Rasa, who looked away casually. The man looked a bit lost and unsure of what to do or say. "Don't tell me-"
"No, he's not," Sasuke assured grumpily, suddenly regretting not finding a way to sneak out of the house himself, even if he had to knock a few heads together to do it. This was going to be hard to explain, this whole thing with the S-rank criminal and oddly idle Kazekage. Sasuke wondered how hard it'd be to erase Shisui's memories. Even if he was a rather laid back guy, he was strong. Sasuke doubted the teen wouldn't notice.
"This is our super secret fucking club." Hidan had a newspaper too. At least he and Ibiki seemed to be getting along to some extent. "You should fucking join... or some shit."
"Oh, cool!" Shisui's eyes shined, and Sasuke almost face palmed. Even if Shisui was strong, he could be a bit absentminded at times. Somehow he was accepting that this was indeed a 'secret club' and that an S-rank criminal, Ibiki Morino and the Kazekage of Suna were all apart of it, along with four small children.
"Yep," Shikamaru would roll with anything at this point. "This is our secret club, an we're gonna save the world."
"I wanna join! I wanna join!" Shisui was an absolute fucking child what the hell.
"Yep, this is our secret club. You should go find us Zabuza Momochi. He just left his village. You should bring him here so we can become allies with the mist." Naruto suggested, wiping his eyes. Gaara patted his back a few times, looking unfazed by all the chaos around him. His dad had pulled out a deck of cards and was shuffling them in every way possible, and he was pretty sure Shikamaru was about to stab someone in the face. Sasuke looked just plain done. I mean, it made sense did it not? How were they supposed to make a plan to save the world if more and more players kept coming onto the playing board?
"That's such a good idea. So you guys are out for world peace or something?" Shisui really should have been questioning this more, but somehow he just couldn't. He wasn't sure what else this could be. His little cousin, he knew, wouldn't do anything to harm the village. Ibiki Morino especially wouldn't. The teen continued speaking. "Aren't half of you like, four or something?"
"Don't judge my mentality." Rasa slammed the cards down on his lap, glaring harshly at the Uchiha. Gaara grumbled something under his breath before speaking. "He wasn't talking about your... mentality, father." The boy sounded irritated. "Half the people in the room are quite literally four."
"Lie." Rasa said quickly. "You're five. He was insulting me. I demand a lawyer!"
"I don't think you can do that." Ibiki said in a drawl tone. Rasa stool and whirled around, pointing an almost accusing finger at the man. Ibiki simply sipped his coffee. "Don't tell me what I can and can't do, bitch!" Rasa threw his cards to the ground dramatically. "I'm the Kazekage, I do what I wa-"
"Sit down." Gaara said boredly. "Weren't we planning to kill Danzo first?"
Shisui perked up considerably, stepping farther into Ibiki's packed home. "Danzo, you say?"
