A Complicated Relationship: 13

When I woke I realized I was in my bed. I sat up, how did I get here? Movement caught my attention. "Hey" andrew got up from his chair and knelt by my bed giving me a small smile. "how are you feeling?" He asked taking my hand. I stared at him confused. "how did I get here?" I asked out loud. His face turned to a sorrowful one. "well they found you out in the woods."

"who?" I asked. My mind was a little fuzzy. "Eli and his brother seth, what happened ang? I was going crazy. You never came home and then I felt that you were in serious trouble. Tell me." He pleaded. Eli? Why would he be there? Then I remembered. He was there when I woke up but wait... No it was a big wolf. I remember being terrified that it was going to eat me but then I heard eli's voice. Why did...? My eyes widened from the realization. Eli was the wolf.

How the hell is that possible it can't be real it had to be a dream. But why would I have a ridiculous dream like that. I felt andrew sqweeze my hand.

"whats wrong?" He asked worry etched on his face. I shook my head, I couldn't tell him the truth he might just think I've gone crazy.

"where is eli now?" I asked him. Drew frowned.

"down stairs with his brother, why?"

"nothing I was just wondering" He nodded.

"do you want me to get him?" He said standing. Did I? Did I really want to see him knowing what he was? Knowing that he was one of the monsters in my nightmares. For some reason I nodded to him and watch him leave. I stared at the door in amazment. Why did I just do that. Would I be frightened when he arrived. All I could think of was that damn dream. But eli was nice from what I saw he wouldn't hurt me would he? He wasn't that wolf that tore into me that wasn't real.

The sound of the door opening caught my attention. I held my breath as I waited for the fear to come as I watched him walk in the room. He was wearing a grey t-shirt and jeans. His tossled hair gave him that sexy bad boy look, His hazel eyes found me, he came fully in the room and shut the door. I waited but the fear never came.

"hey" his voice was in a low whisper. "how are you feeling?" He asked taking my brothers vacated seat.

"fine" was all I said. I was to focused on how this handsome man could be evil. I wasn't getting any bad vibed from him. He seemed normal to me.

"angie I'm-" I cut him off.

"Is what I saw true? Are you really a wolf?" I blurted out. I waited for the 'what-are-you-talking-about' look to appear on his face but it never came, it was completly still, no sign of any emotions.

"In a way" was all he said. I let out a deep sigh.

"so I wasn't seeing things" I said mostly to myself.

"angie I'm sorry I didn't want you to find out like that." I frowned at him.

"what do you mean?"

He shifted in his seat "I was planning to tell you a much better way so it wouldn't be such a suprize." I let out a humorless laugh.

"a better way? How would any way be less of a suprize?" I said my voice raising in the process. He said nothing. There was an akward silence between us.

"why?" He looked up at me confused.

"why what?" He asked me. I looked him straight in the eyes.

"why were you going to tell me?" I asked. I started to nervously play with the covers I had clutched in my hand. He was silent but never looked away from me. I could tell he was having a debate with himself. He closed his eyes and letting out a small sigh before answering me.

"I was planning on telling you because your my..." He opened his eyes to look at me. He stood up, walked over to me and he sat on the bed and took my hand in his. It was so warm, I know I shouldn't be letting him this close but I couldn't help it if everytime he touched me my body was on fire with need. Need to be closer, need to see how far this would go.

"I have know since the moment I saw you that you were the one I would be with. I really wanted to tell you this so many times but in a different way. But Angelina Carter you and I are destine to be together, Your my mate." what do you say to something like that? Well in my case nothing because nothing was coming out. All I did was stare at him in confusion. He gave me small smile.

"I know its alot to take in so I'm not going to rush you into anything." He reasured me, raising my hand he still held and pressed a gentle kiss to my knuckles.

"I'm not asking you to give me an answer right away I can wait as long as it takes, I can answer any questions you would like to ask but later. You have had a trying day, all you need to focus on is getting some rest. K" with that he kissed my hand once more and quickly stood. "good night" he whispered and let go of my hand before rushing out of the room.

He didn't give me a chance to respond to anything, not that I tried to. My mouth still wouldn't form a single word I just stared at the door dumbfounded. Mate? What was a mate?

Eli's Pov:

I was quickly rushing down the stairs. I spotted seth leaning against the wall at the bottom of the stairs. After angie had fainted I called seth to pick us up. He had already been home and brung a fresh pair of clothes for me and brought the car and took us to her house. Once I reached him at the bottom of the stairs I told him 'lets go' through the link. He nodded as he pushed himself off the wall.

'what happened?' He asked but I didn't answer him yet because andrew stepped out from behind the kitchen wall. It was weird how they looked so much alike. But what do you expect from twins.

"Is she okay?" He asked me. I nodded. He let out a sigh "good, thank you again I really appreciate it I was so worried about her." I smiled

"no it was nothing "

"aren't you the guy I bumped into in the hall other day?" I nodded.

"I thought so. So how do you know my sister?" He asked. I looked over at the door, so close I thought before peering back at him.

"Shes in my class"

"oh" then it hit me maybe I can get him to tell me more about angie.

"Would you guys like a soda or something?" He asked us. I didn't have time to answer because seth spoke up.

"yeah, do you have water?" He asked. Andrew nodded before turning into the kitchen. Seth and I just stood in the hall before we heard andrew call.

"you guys can take a seat in the living room if you want." I looked over to seth to see seth shrug at me.

After getting settled on the couch andrew came in with two glasses of water. Set them down and sat in the chair across from us. But before we could say a single word there was a frantic knocking at the front door. I looked over at andrews frowning face. Well apparently he wasn't expecting any company.

"excuse me" he said as he hurridly walked to the door.

Seth and I sat there quietly till an uneasy feeling came over me. For some reason it had the hair on the back of my neck standing on end. I quickly stood up as my instincts were telling me there was something very wrong, something dangerous here. Seth must have felt it to because he was by my side in a crouching position and growling low. I put my hand on his shoulder 'stay calm' I told him. There wasn't much that could have a were on edge but whatever this os had us on the defensive. The distant sound of footsteps approching and the uneasing feeling was getting more intense.

Then andrew came from the corner but what caught my attention was the small old woman trailing behind him with a worried. Is she the one causing all this? She didn't look dangerous, I mean shes just an old lady. My eyes scanned her, she had gray hair which was pulled back into a braid along her back. There were wrinkles on her face but not too many she still had that healthy glow. I would say she was well in her fifties. But the one thing that shocked me were her eyes, they were a glowing green exactly like angies'. Her gaze came to rest on me and her once worried expression turned to a shocked one and just as quickly to anger. Andrew didn't seem to noticed as he began to introduce us to her.

"Eli, seth this is my grandmother, Claire Carter" he said. I was going to be polite and say 'hello nice tomeet you' but her what she said stopped us all in our traks.

"Why are their werewolves here!"
