Why Should We
Sirius and Remus were sitting together on Remus's bed. It was Saturday, and James and Peter had lunch time detention with McGonagall for turning all the Ravenclaw students hair blue.
The two boys in the dorm were enjoying the peace, doing their potions homework on the bed. But for once, Remus couldn't concentrate on his essay.
"Sirius ... do you think that we should, um, tell James and Peter about us?" Remus asked cautiously. "I mean, it's been two months and they might be mad when they find out, especially James."
"No, we don't need to tell them." Sirius said simply.
"Why not?"
"Well, they didn't need to tell us that they are straight. So why should we? It's only sexuality, nothing to make a big deal out of." Sirius replied. "And anyway, they aren't narrow minded, especially James. We are good enough friends that he'll accept it and ask no uncomfortable interrogation questions."
Remus sighed. "Are you sure?" he asked.
"Absolutely positive." Sirius said, kissing Remus lightly on the lips. Remus blushed slightly, and sighed again.
"Are you alright?" Sirius asked.
"Full moon soon. I can't concentrate. Too tired but want to do so many things." Remus said.
"Why don't we stop doing homework for now. We could just hang around and wait till the other two get back." Sirius suggested. Remus nodded, and pushed their work onto the bedside table, out of their way. Their hands claps together, they just lay on the bed.
It wasn't too long before James finished his detention. Detention wasn't that bad; he had a hunch that Minnie was starting to like him.
The supply of Butterbeer he had was running dangerously short, so he was on his way back to the dorm to collect the Map and Cloak. When he entered the room, he saw Remus and Sirius huddled together on the bed, kissing passionately.
"Sorry to break up your little ... that. But have either of you two seen the map?" James asked, looking between the two boys.
"Have you checked under the floor?" Remus asked.
"Yeah. I check the third from the boiler." James replied.
"No no. It's fourth from the boiler, remember. we changed it." Sirius said.
"Oh. Right, thanks." James said. He dug the map up from the floor and headed towards the door. "Sorry for interrupting, carry on." James said smiling, closing the door.
Sirius turned to face Remus, smiling smugly.
"Told you James wouldn't be a prick about it."
