I'd have put flowers on the sides, but that would have taken too much time. And yes, the context is Philip saying goodbye before going to duel Eaker. I intended on illustrating them kissing but settled on this instead after putting Philip's hair to the right side of his head and not wanting to change it.

Man, that pose took FOREVER. Most of the time I spent on this was devoted to the bed frame and the pose. The legs had to be at the correct angle, and the arms did, too. For some reason, I couldn't get her hair right, but I settled on this. I also spent a while debating whether the caption should be "How I wish that you had thought this through before I went and fell in love with you" or "Guess you didn't cheat, but you're still a traitor." Both of them, after all, fit how Alana felt in the context of the story. I ultimately compromised by putting the former as the caption and saving the latter for narration. The poor girl...WHY do I torture everyone this way?
