Crushing It
Do you know that moment when you like a guy? You go through anything to get his attention, for example, accidentally bumping into him in the hall ten times every day, hoping he will notice you, volunteering to be his lab partner every time, or bonding over a scene in drama class? Yeah, I am what you call obsessed.
I was hiding behind a trashcan in an empty hallway. Why, might you ask? Because Jeremy Renner was just twenty footsteps away. It was not a big deal, but it was a big deal.
I've had a crush on Jeremy since I was in sixth grade. I'm in ninth. That, my friends, is a very freaking long time. I've seen him go through puberty. He's even hotter now than he was four years ago, and every day, he gets hotter and hotter by the minute. That is not a metaphor. I swear by oath. Anywho, moving on—
I was watching him, sadly. Yes, while this is a painful procedure, it is also hazardous. Stalking someone could lead to getting caught, and getting caught could lead to trouble. I was waiting for my moment to strike when he least expected it.
Jeremy combed his fingers through his perfectly trimmed blond hair and slammed his locker shut. That was my cue. I pushed not so gracefully off my feet and from behind the trashcan.
"Hey, Jeremy," I called, waving erratically in his direction. He smiled, tugging down at his sunglasses.
"Hey, Lindsey," he replied, waving back at me. I screamed internally.
"You know, you didn't have to hide behind a trashcan," he said, hanging his sunglasses on his shirt. He leaned against a wall and crossed his arms. I scrunched up my nose and cringed.
"Yep," I popped the P. His face lit up with a partial smirk, and I blushed.
''Why were you hanging out behind a trashcan?"
"Well, I'm, was testing it out to see if it's safe enough to hide behind during a shooting attack?" I mentally face-palmed myself. He arched his brow.
"Okay, got to get to drama rehearsal. See you there." He said, shooting me with finger guns and a wink as he walked off.
"Wait, Jeremy," I called. Jeremy flipped around on his feet. You could hear his shoes screech.
"What?" he asked, playing with the sunglasses on his shirt collar.
"I lied. I like you. I like you a lot." I held my breath as the last words left my mouth. Jeremy's deep blue eyes peered into mine as we stared at each other momentarily. He took a deep breath and spoke. "I like you too."
Did Jeremy admit he likes me?
Jeremy was suddenly close, touching his nose against mine, and kissed me. His lips trickled their way to my ear, and he whispered.
"I watch you too."
