*Beep,Beep,Beep,Beep* "Uhhh!" I wake up to my alarm going off at 6:00AM. Oh right new school. Turf war! Shit where did I put that uniform. Oh there it is. It's a black coat, white shirt and jeans plus a blue tie. I put on the uniform and walk into the kitchen. I hear John come out of his room." Hey John." I say in a cheery voice." Yo, what's up Rafe. Why'd you set your alarm so early?" He asks in a groggy tone. "For school." I say bluntly. "School doesn't start till 9:00AM." He says opening the pantry to garb a loaf of bread.

"Better to be early then late." I say as I grabbing two glasses from a cabinet. "Okay, but why are you already in the uniform?" He asks putting the bread in the toaster. "I mean I took a shower last night and I have nothing to do this morning so... why not." I say poring milk into both glasses. "Fair point." He says grabbing one of the glasses and walking into the living room. He turns on the TV and sits on the couch; I join him. We watch a older broadcast of Turf War between Atwood high and Mountain high. Atwood high is ranked first. There emblem is the Phoenix. Mountain highs ranked second and there emblem is the Cobra.

My new school is ranked ninth; West Valley. Our emblem is the wolf. After a couple of minutes the toast popped up. John got up to get it. "Come get your toast." John says in a sarcastically sweet tone. "Aww thanks man." I say in a sarcastic tone. I then grabbed the plate he offered me.

[Time skip]

Aria had sent me a message to meet her out side the girls dorm. John decided to join me. When we got there Aria was leaning against the wall next to the doors leading to the girls dorm. "Hay Aria." I say walking toward her. "Hay Rafe." Aria says walking toward us. "Not going to say hi to me." John says in a sad tone. "Who are you, again?" Aria asked. "It's me John one of your friends." John says frantically. "Doesn't ring a bell." Aria says bluntly. "Wha? Rafe tell her." John says looking for help. "Do I know you?" I ask in a blunt fashion. "You know what, fuck this I'm out." John says storming off.

"Ha ha ha ha, that was fun." Aria says jumping on my back. "Ya, I guess so. Why are you on my back?" I ask annoyed. "Cus I want to be." Aria say putting her head on my shoulder. "I guess that's a valid answer?" I say questioningly. "Now take me to class." Aria demands. "Like hell I will." I say trying to get her off my back.

"Aria who is that?" I was stopped dead. When I turned around I saw a girl with white hair and sky blue eyes. "He's that best friend I was telling you about." Aria explains. "Mind introducing us, Aria." I say walking toward the girl. "Oh ya, Rafe this is Violet my roommate. Violet this is Rafe my best friend." Aria says pointing to each of us. "It's good to meet you Violet." I say putting out my hand. "It's good to meet you too, Rafe." Violet says shaking my hand. I notice a bronze clip on her tie. "Your a second year." I say adjusting Aria on my back. "Why, yes I am. Why do you ask?" Violet say with a curious look. "Oh no it wasn't a question just an observation." I explain. "Oh ok." She says with a smile. "Now if you will excuse me I have a lazy girl to get to class." I say walking off. "See you later." Violet says walking back into the dorm.

Right when we opened the classrooms door the bell rang. "Your just in time Mr. Emerald and Ms. Black. You may take a seat." The teacher says gesturing to the class. Aria jumps off my back and walks over to where John is sitting. She sits behind him and I sit on her right next to the window. "Okay class I'm Mr. Page and I will be your homeroom teacher. You are required to take two classes. Homeroom and gym. Most of your time will be spent in the gym. As you all know there are only six spots on the Turf War team. The two highest positions being the King and Queen. With dedication maybe you can become one of those six maybe even the King or Queen. Now I want you all to pick a partner." Mr. Page says sitting in his chair.

"Rafe!" Aria yells. "I got it! Stop being obnoxious!" I yell back. "The person you choose will be you partner for homeroom." Mr. Page says turning to the board.

When me and Aria get to the gym the coach gave us a locker number. "Your gym uniform will be in you locker. Now go get changed." The coach says hurrying to talk to a group of elder students that included Violet. The students were wearing a gray shirt and either gray shorts or gray sweatpants.

[Time skip]

Aria stepped into the arena. Her opponent being a man with purple hair. "Begin!" The the coach shouts. The man's skin turned gray as he charges Aria. She reduced the gravity around him and throws him in to the wall making it crack. Seems he can harden his skin. He charged Aria again. This time she sidesteps and kicks his legs out from under him. When he lands Aria increases the gravity around him. She kicks him in to the face to finish him off. "Aria Black wins!" The coach shouts. Aria walking away well some students retrieve the man to take him to the nurse's office.

"Who wants to go next?" The coach asks. I raise my hand as does a woman with brown hair. "Get to the arena." The coach commands. When I get to the arena the brown haired woman is waiting for me. "Begin." The coach shouts. The brown haired woman charges me as brown translucent arms with spikes on the ends instead of hands appear on her back. Six of them to be exact. Three on each side of her. She thrusts two of her arms at me hitting the ground where I used to be before I jumped back. As I did that I copied her ability. The same translucent arms appeared on my back except they were red. She stops dead in her tracks a look of pure shock covering her face. I charge her trying to slashing her with all six of my arms. She blocks every slash by positioning all of her arms in front of her. I then slam all of my arms against her's, pushing her down. She pushes me back with all her strength catching me off guard. I jump back to regain my composure, allowing her to do the same. I gave her a devilish smile and jump toward her thrusting four of my arms at her, knocking her off balance. I throw a uppercut at her with my right fist, hitting her in the jaw well shes off balance. This throws her back a few feet, landing on her back as her arms disappear. When she tried to get up I kicked her in the face knocking her out. "Rafe Emerald wins!" The coach yells in astonishment as some students come to retrieve the brown haired woman.

I walk out of the area to where Aria, John, and Violet are sitting. Violet had a surprised look on her face. "My ability copy's other people's abilities. Did Aria not tell you?" I ask with surprise. "No, she never mentioned it." Violet says with a questioning face. "I've been telling you your ability is amazing." John says jumping into the conversation. "Begin!" The coach shouts. "Your ability is more practical  then mine. I have to copy other people's abilities to be useful. You can turn invisible right of the bat." I say in annoyance.

"Rafe the King and Queen have challenge you." The coach whispers to me. "The King and Queen are in this class?" I whispers back. "Yes, you can have a partner if you want one." The coach answers in a whisper.  "I will fight alone." I say with a small smile. One of the guys in the arena was knocked on his ass. He then gets kicked in the face, laying him out on the arena. "Nathan Jackson wins!" The coach shouts ushering me to the arena.

When I get there a man with dark blue hair and a woman with blonde hair were waiting for me. "Begin!" The coach shouts. The woman charges me, gold translucent claws  appearing on her hands. I sidestep copying her ability as I did. She turns around and slash at my face. I duck and slash at her but a blue barrier blocks my attack. I turn my attention to the man and copy his ability, charging him. As I did the woman charged me again. I place a red barrier around her. Then a blue barrier appears around me. I place a barrier around the man making the one I placed around the woman disappear and I attack the barrier with my left hand. I could feel the bones in my arm brake. But the barrier cracked. So I hit it again with my right hand shattering it. Surprising the man. I then charge at the woman, sliding to her left before I get to her. "What the..?!" She shouts in surprise before I dash at her, slashing at her face. She fell on her ass and I kicked her in the side of the head. As I did I decreased the space in the barrier around the man, confining  him. "I surrender." The man says disappointed. "Rafe Emerald wins." The coach shouts in astonishment. Every one in the class was surprised as I walked out of the arena holding my left arm.

When I get to my seat John has a concerned look on his face. "Violet heal Rafe's arm." Aria says confidently. "Ok." Violet says holding her arms out to my broken one. I slowly start to gain more feeling in my arm and pain shoots through it. The pain then slowly starts to disappear. "Thanks Violet." I say moving my arm. "No problem." Violet says with a smile. The bell then rings. "Well now that that's over with want to hang out in my dorm?" Aria asked. "I think you need to ask Violet if it's okay with her first." John says looking at Violet. "Oh no its fine with me."Violet says shaking her head. "Okay then it's settled." I say walking to the door of the gym.

As we walked through the halls to the dorms we got weird looks and stares. Seems news travails fast around here. Right before we entered the girls dorm Aria jumps on my back. "Violet lead the way." Aria say as Violet takes the lead. "Sure thing." Violet says opening the doors to the girls dorm. When we get to Aria's dorm Violet unlocks the door and opens it. "Okay you can get off me know." I say as I step in to the room. "To my room!" Aria shouts. "Ya, no." I say as I throwing her on the couch. "Fine." Aria says with a pout.

[Time skip]

"Rafe let's go out. I'm bored." Aria says. "No." I say already getting annoyed. "Rafe." Aria whines. "Fine!" I yell throwing Aria over my shoulder. John wasn't phased by it. But Violet had a surprised expression. "Don't worry they do this a lot." John say putting a hand on Violet's shoulder. When I walk out of Aria's room she moves herself from my shoulder to my back.

"That little show of power was risky, Rafe." Aria says in a whisper. "I know but it worked didn't it." I say as I feel a person start to follow us. "Someones following us." Aria whispers. "Yeah, confront or ignore?" I ask in a whisper. "Confront in the courtyard." Aria answers. "Okay." I say speeding up a little bit. When we get to the courtyard I could feel four more people hiding behind the trees in the courtyard.

"You all can come out now." I say watching as the four step out form behind the trees. The one that was following us didn't show themselves though. "Who are you?" Aria asked getting off my back. "We are the rest of the Turf War team." A orange haired man says in a angry tone. As the other three surrounded us. Aria and I go back to back in fighting stances. Aria reduces the gravity around the orange haired man throwing him through a window on the second floor of the school. I copy Aria's ability as a woman with white hair charges me. I sidestep at the last second, kicking her legs out from under her. I then punch her in the stomach with my left hand as she fell. Throwing her in to one of the trees knocking her out. Aria already dispatched the woman with pink hair, who was laying on the ground unconscious. The last one tried to run but I increase the gravity around her. Making her fall on her hands and knees. I walked towards the black haired woman and kicked her in the head knocking her unconscious. The person who was following us ran off when I did.

"Where do you think they went?" Aria asks walking to me. "I have a hunch. Let's find the news room." I say walking to the school entrance. "Oooh, let's go." Aria says walking next to me.

[Time skip]

When we get to the news room Aria kicks open the door, surprising the two people inside. "What the hell?" A pink haired man yelled. But a woman with black hair. Was petrified by fear. There were already papers being printed. Aria rushes the black haired girl with anger and pined her to the wall. "Why were you following us?!" Aria shouts in anger. "I told her to. Your the next King and Queen after all." The pink haired man explained.

"Ok, I will be willing to let you publish the story." I say gesturing for Aria to let go of the woman. She gives the woman a smile. "I'm just fucking with ya." Aria says with a chuckle. The woman had a relieved look on her face.

"I bid you a good day." I say walking out of the room with Aria behind me. "I like this plan of yours." Aria says jumping on my back. "I'm glad you know how I think." I say as runs her hands through my hair. "We've been friends for as long as I can remember. Meaning our instincts are attuned to each other." Aria says laying her head on my shoulder. "That's very true." I say looking out of the window. The sun setting behind the mountains. "It's getting late." Aria says looking out the window. "Ya, lets get you back to your room." I say starting to walk again.

[Time skip]

"Thanks Rafe." Aria says getting off my back. She opens the door to her dorm and walked in. "Night Aria." I say starting to walk away. "Goodnight Rafe." Aria says closing the door. When I walk out of the girls dorm I find Violet walking towards me. "Hay Rafe, where did you and Aria go?" Violet asks. "Oh, well we weren't even able to get off of school grounds. Anyway what did you and John get up to?" I say leaning against a wall. "What you didn't even get off campus? What happened?" Violet asked. "I hoped you wouldn't ask about that. But we got ambushed by the rest of the Turf War team. If you want more details ask Aria." I say walking past her. "Okay." Violet says walking into the girls dorm.

"Hay John." I say looking at the lockers. "I really hate how you can tell when I'm around." John says appearing in front of the lockers I was looking at. "So what did you and Violet get up to after me and Aria left? I tried to ask Violet but she changed the subject." I say sitting against a wall. "Well we talked and hung out for awhile. Then we went to the cafeteria for dinner." John explains. "Shit, me and Aria missed dinner!" I yell. "Ok, damn you don't have to yell." John complained. "Ya, sorry about that." I say getting up. "Don't worry I got you a sandwich before we left." He says showing me a white paper bag. "Thanks." I say taking the bag from him. "We should get back to our dorm." John says walking off. "Wait for me." I say running after him.

*Beep, beep, beep!* I woke up to my alarm. Quickly I get in the shower and put on my uniform. With a light breakfast I rush to the girls dorm. Aria was there waiting for me. "Hay Aria, any sign of  the news we ordered?" I ask walking to her. "Ya, as far as I can tell everyone one has seen the paper." Aria says handing me a newspaper.

On the front page the head line is, "The Crimson King And His Queen" The article reads, "As Rafe Emerald and Aria Black were walking out of the school into the courtyard they were attacked by four fifth years all of them on the Turf War team. It has been confirmed that earlier that day Rafe beat the King and Queen alone and for that the other four members of the team tried to attack him and Aria. But the confrontation didn't last long as Aria and Rafe easily dispatched them. We have a statement from one of the attackers. "The last thing I remember is the color red as Rafe walked toward me after immobilizing me." Every who's seen his first matches has given him the name Crimson King, and most predict that Aria will become the Queen." With that the article ends. A picture of the aftermath along with it.

"I like the name Crimson. It reminds me of when me and John would call you red." Aria says in a reminiscent tone. "Ya, the name red stuck with me now it feels like it gotten a upgrade." I say starting to walk away. Aria follows me.

[Time skip 3 days later]

As me and Aria wait in the arena. All six members of the Turf War team walk into the arena. "May I have the King and Queen's names?" I ask with no emotion. "I'm Jeff." The guy says with a glare. "I'm Jaylene." The woman says with the same glare. "Begin!" The coach shouts.

Jaylene and the white haired woman charge at us. Me and Aria scatter. The white haired woman decided to go after me. Jaylene going after Aria. As this happened the pink haired woman was flying on pink translucent wings. She also had claws. I copy her ability as I turn to face the white haired woman's charge. I slash at her with red translucent claws. She spins around me and tries to kick me in the back. I fly into the air before she could. As I did Aria is trapped by Jeff's barrier. I copy his ability and trap the orange haired man and black haired woman in a barrier. Aria then increase the gravity around Jeff so much that he had to lay on his stomach. "That was quite the miss calculation there, Jeff." I say swooping down to face Jeylene. As the barrier around Aria disappeared. I slash at Jeylene many times but she blocked most of them. She then kicks my left leg and slashes at my face. I kick her in the stomach and grab her, taking her up into the air with me. I turn around and fly straight towed the ground, smashing her in to it, knocking her out. I then my attention to the white haired woman, who charged me again. I place a barrier around her and she slams full speed in to it. The black haired woman shot electricity at Aria and the orange haired man shot orange projectiles at me. I copy the black haired woman's ability and place a barrier around her. The white haired women continues her charge. I sidestep, copying her ability and placing my right hand on her back, electrocuting her as I do. Well Aria increase the gravity around the pink haired woman, who was still flying around the arena. Making her plunge to the ground. Aria is then hit with an orange projectile. So I place a barrier around her. The black haired woman shoots electricity at me. I dodge and charge her using the white haired woman's ability. When I get to her I slash at her quickly with both claws. As the pink haired woman slowly stands up. She then flys toward me as the black haired woman ducks. When the pink haired woman tries to slash at me I grab her arm and swing her in to the black haired women. Throwing them in to the arena wall. As that happened I ran toward Jeff and kicked him in the face, knocking him out. Then I feel a sharp pain in my back. I turn to see the orange haired man firing at me again. I dodge and copy his ability, shooting a red projectile at him as I do. It hits his left arm as he tried to dodge. I charge him using the white haired woman's ability. Before I get to him I slide to his left, he had a look of pure horror plastered on his face. I then dash toward him punch his face knocking him out. The pink and black haired woman slowly stand up. The black haired woman collapsing from blood lose. The pink haired woman then flys toward me, clearly infuriated. Aria reduces the gravity around her making her fall to her knees. Half way through her charge. I charge her."I surrender!" The woman yelled. I stop right before my fist hits her face, a relieved look on her face.

"Rafe Emerald and Aria Black wins!" The coach shouts. Me and Aria walk out of the arena as all except one of the Turf War team was draged away. The pink haired woman walking beside them. "I challenge Rafe! Aria will you help me?" John asks standing up. "Let's do it." Aria says giving me a sly smile. "Okay I accept your challenge. It will be just like old times." I say walking back to the arena. John and Aria right behind me. "I'll only ask you this once, are you two sure you want to do this?" I ask. They look at each other then back at me. "Hell yeah." They say in unison.

"Begin!" The coach shouts. John charges me. I back up a little bit, then see Aria running at me as well. John ducks and Aria jumps over him. As this happened John turned invisible. I copy his ability. Before Aria can kick the left side of my face I block and Aria reduces the gravity around me, throwing me in to the wall of the arena. I copied her ability and John appears in front of me. Throwing his right fist at me. I catch it with my left hand and whale still holding his fist I punch him in the face with my left hand. I let go of his first, spin around and kick him with my right leg. Laying him out on his back. I turn invisible, Aria looking all around for me. I increase the gravity around her making her fall to one knee. I appear in front of her. She looks at me with acceptance. "I surrender." Aria says as I let the gravity around her go back to normal. I then feel a sharp pain in the back of my knee making me fall to the other one. I turn invisible, barely dodging John's punch. I reappear and sweep his legs out from under him. I put my left hand on his chest, pushing him down. My right fist winding up to punch him in the face. "I surrender." John says putting his arms in front of his face.

"Rafe Emerald wins!" The coach shouts. I get off of John and hold out my hand to him, helping him up. Aria walks towed us. "We should have won that." Aria says in disappoinment. "You wouldn't have if not for John using his ability." I explain. "That's very true." John says putting an arm around my neck while we walk out of the arena. When we get to Violet we sit down next to her.

"You guys did great." Violet says in a cheery tone. "We've been at this a long time the fights are about fifty fifty for whose won." John says leaning back in his seat. "Aria Rafe they need you in the office!" Coach shouts. "Okay got it." I say getting up. Followed by Aria.
