"My god... Have you lost your mind", Hailey screams at her brother, a big smudge of Mascara across her left cheek. Her big brother, Sam, had just decided to scare the crap out of her, by popping his head around the corner with a scary mask on.

Hailey had her back turned towards the door because she was putting her makeup on. So, she only saw him through the mirror, and it made her jump like hell. At first, he looked like some weird shadow and then his face appeared in the mirror, well the face of that horrible mask anyway. It was the face of a pale ghost-like creature.

"Get out of my room, NOW!" Hailey screams at him, slamming the door in his face. She really hates it when he is like that. He always thinks he is funny and loves to scare her.

"Just you wait and see what happens, when I get you back for this", she hisses under her breath. There must be some way of scaring him, like properly scaring him. Scaring him so much that he will never dare to scare her again. That would be the best outcome anyway.

"Hi Daria, I need your help", Hailey asks her best friend over the phone.

About twenty minutes later, Daria shows up at her house. "Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Smith", she greets Hailey's parents, before both girls disappear in Hailey's room.

"So, what are you suggesting we do?" Daria looks at Hailey expectingly.

"I have come up with the perfect thing, trust me", Hailey smiles, then heads over to her dresser and pulls out a white sheet. "See!"

Daria looks back at her all confused. "What are you going to do with that? Dress up as a ghost? Don't you think your brother is a little old for that?"

"Oh, trust me, he will be shaking with fear, once the day is done", Hailey chuckles. Then she goes to a drawer on the left side of her room and pulls out a tube filled with some thick, red liquid.

"Ew, what in the world is that?" Daria points to the bottle in Hailey's hand disgustedly.

"Calm down, it's just fake blood. I bought it in the shops this morning."

"And what are you planning on doing with it?"

"You'll see." Then Hailey begins to stain the white sheet with the fake blood and then proceeds to put the fake blood on herself, until her arms, legs, neck, and face are covered in smears of blood.

"Now help me but this sheet on, will you", she turns to Daria, who is still pretty confused about what exactly it is that Hailey is planning.

Once the sheet is sitting on Hailey's body the way she would like it to, the two girls decide to head downstairs.

"What now?" Daria asks her.

"Now, the actual masterplan is put into action", Hailey exclaims and then quickly tells Daria what she is going to do. Luckily, her parents had left to go to the movie.

"Sam... Sam... you want some pineapple?" Hailey calls up the stairs. Just as she had expected, he said he would be down in two minutes. Now, her plan could not go wrong.

She quickly nips into the kitchen and gets the pineapple, chopping board and knife ready. Daria stands next to her, also ready for her part of this scare-prank.

A few moments later, she hears Sam coming down the stairs.

Carefully she raises the knife towards the pineapple and tries to cut through it. Just as she is cutting, the knife slips out of her hand and stabs her in the side.

She screams, full of agony and pain. Daria looks shocked and starts screaming herself, when she sees all the blood coming out of her best friend's side, where the knife is now half sticking out.

Sam comes crashing into the room. "What happened...", he stops dead in his tracks, when he sees his sister covered in blood and blood dripping onto the floor.

"I... I stabbed myself... I can't feel my side anymore", Hailey sobs, slowly sinking to the ground.

Sam immediately rushes forward to catch his sister and hold her up. "Don't just stand there, call an ambulance, Daria", he shouts at her, the fear in his eyes clearly visible.

"Oh my god... Hailey, listen to me. You will be okay, yeah... Just stay with me. The ambulance will be here in a minute."

"Daria, what the hell. Have you called the ambulance or not? Why are you just standing there?"

"I... I think... I am going to pass out", she stammers.

"No, no, please don't. Listen to me, everything is going to be okay. I just need you to call an ambulance, please."

"Okay", Daria answers and grabs her phone. "Hello, is this the ambulance I am talking to? Yeah, we have a big problem. My best friend, she is losing a lot of blood... Yeah, her brother is here too and he... he just got pranked!" she starts laughing and Hailey immediately joins in.

"What the hell?" Sam looks really confused and annoyed at the same time. "Have you completely lost your mind? That is so not funny!"

"Yeah... Well, now you know what it feels like", Hailey answers, before she adds, "but you gotta admit it was a brilliant plan. You should have seen your face. You almost looked like you were going to pass out yourself." Hailey cannot help a laugh escape her lips again.

"Just don't ever do it again, you hear me", Sam warns her and hugs her tightly.

"Happy Halloween, big bro", Hailey hugs him back.

"I think, I've had enough Halloween to last me a lifetime", Sam responds and needs to laugh a little himself.
