Natsu panted. 'Guys, Lucy got me. My left arm, nothing bad but just be careful. She snuck up on Me....'

He heard someone curse. 'Snuck up on you? Wow. Okay. I will be careful. '

Natsu heard agreement and he looked down at his arm. It had stopped Blistering, but it ached. He looked around hearing nothing.

'Now. '

Then he heard a yell, and natsu looked up as he saw Mira in her She-Devil form. She was flying up and she was yelling at Lucy. "Come fight me, Demon!"

Natsu nodded and he jumped on a building, and he saw everybody running towards the forest, away from Magnolia. He looked back and saw Lucy fly up and he cursed. He didn't know she could fly.... But he looked closer and her keys we're floating a round her, vibrating and she was shining gold. She was chasing after Mira and she shot a stream of light, missing Mira.

Natsu watched as Mira led her out of town, helpless. He didn't know what to do. But he followed his guild mates, blasting fire out of his feet to make him go faster, burning his sandals in the process.

He kept an eye on Mira as she would spread her wings and fly faster. Natsu dodged a chimney and he almost fell into a trash can. He got his balance back with a bitter chuckle. He heard a yell, and looked up.

In a split second he saw Lucy appear in front of Mira, and she grabbed Mira's throat, but Mira yelled and she grabbed Lucy's wrist before she could do anything, and she threw Lucy towards the forest.

Lucy crashed through a roof of a shop, and right after that there was an explosion. Natsu cursed as he neared the explosion, and a few pieces hit him. He saw as Mira flew faster, and he dipped by the explosion and sucked out a few flames. They were bitter, and left a bad taste in his mouth, but he ignorrd that.

He saw Lucy rise. Her movements were still choppy and she turned to him. She was bleeding out of a scratch on her forehead and arm. Her keys vibrated and glowed as they levitate around her.

Mira, you made her bleed. Good.

Child's play. Quit running. It's getting bor-

She was cut off when Natsu blasted her in the face. She looked him in the eye. Her eyes were over filling with black goo, and it was leaking out her mouth, and ears. Natsu felt his heart break all over again, but he blocked it out. He can't let his feelings get in the way. But she just smiled, a crocodile grin. Finally. A worthy opponent... A demon. Oh, the fears I see in you... The countless-

Natsu turned and ran. He couldn't take it. Memories flashed through his head-- the day he sent Lucy away, how afraid he was,that she wouldn't ever see him as anything but her friend, his fear of killing his friends if his inner demon was released... Killing Lucy... The fears started taking form in his head.

He blocked it out. This was that things doing. He ran faster, boosting himself even more with fire shooting out of his hands. He felt a searing pain in his left arm. He yelled as Lucy hit him in the same place as last time. Pain erupted through his arm, but he thought, Nothing I haven't felt before.

Natsu tried ignoring the pain, and he looked back and Lucy was right on his tail. He almost shrieked but he bit his tongue. He reached back and blasted her in the face, and he saw that his magic was laced with gold. He blasted her again and she growled.

Just a little longer, Natsu. Keep distracting her.

Got it, Erza.

Natsu looked back ahead of him, and he saw the forest. Then he felt something collide with him in midair, and he fell to the ground with it. He hit his head on the wall of a building before landing hard on his back on concrete floor. Natsu groaned in pain, but it was cut short when he felt a hand press lightly against his mouth.

He looked up at the person on him.

"What the fUCK?!" He yelled through the hand.

Yami dodged out of the way, and he brought his leg up in a solid kick that landed on Lucy's side, cause on his her to go flying. But mid air she turned her body and she landed in a crouched position (her favorite position ig) and she had an idea.

She brought her hand up above her and she made a spear of light.

"Using weapons, now are we? I prefer to not use them but what's fair is fair. You do need as advantage over me."

When Lucy threw the spear at him, he dodged it but Lucy took that opening to leap at him again, this time with a sword in hand. She slashed at his face, hitting his cheek. Black blood trickled out and he touched the slight wound. "Didn't expect that... Your friends are leading me away from town... Reduce damage I suppose? I guess I will go out of my way to destroy everything then. "

Lucy yelped and jumped back when a spike shot itself from Yami's leg and impaled her in her left thigh. She gasped in pain as she looked down and saw her veins begin to darken until they were black. Lucy's eyes widened and she felt afraid. Bit she shot herself in her leg with her magic, wincing slightly, to dispose of the poison.

She looked up and she saw a spike shooting straight towards her. She ducked and rolled, only to be impaled in her left hand. She bit her lip to keep in the shout if pain. She saw that the spike was steaming at the parts where it was connected to her.

"Silly girl. To think that you and your puny mortal friends can stop me."

Lucy cried out as she shot a beam of light out of her hand, blood laced in it. The spike Dissinigrated and Yami let out a grunt.

Lucy looked up at him.

"Your awfully quiet." Yami laughed. "Thinking you will lose? I should have waited an extra year. The last name didn't put up a fight at all. You Heartfilia's are weak... But you are an exception."

Lucy growled. He mentioned it again... How he should have waited... As if he actually-

Lucy made a bow and arrow and she shot it. Archery isn't her string suit, but she managed to get him in the chest. He grunted and she threw her bow and arrow, making room in her mind to keep them solid.

She clasped both hands in front of her as Yami spread his wings, his goo expanding. She blasted her magic out, her fingers and elbows popping under the pressure.

She got him in the faces owing her a second of thought.

He talks as if he caused it... But that day nobody was really afraid... We were on a scavenger hunt...

Yami recovered, he laughed as another spike rose behind her, but she made a solid barrier between it and her. Soon, spikes were raining down from everywhere and she was forced to make a solid barrier all around her. Yami laughed as she gritted her teeth, trying to keep it from shattering.

"Your friends don't know yet, but I am fully aware of their plan. I'm just.... Having fun before the main event." He grinned, and Lucy gasped.

He thought it was from her weakening barrier, but it wasn't.

She realised who was afraid.

That day, Natsu had yelled at her. Even though it was three years ago, she can clearly remember it. Natsu wasnt running around but instead was standing their, calm. He was usually never that calm.

Lucy's vision was getting fuzzy as she felt a spike come close to breaking through. But she strengthened it once more but it was becoming difficult. She curled into a ball to minimize the barrier size. Yami looked down at her laughing.

He seemed different. A completely different person. He smelt of smoke but Also... Something weird.

Lucy decided to test something.

She burst through her barrier, surprising Yami, and she leapt towards his face. She shot light at his right eye and she smelt his breath as grunted in pain.

She leapt back and made the barrier again.

She glared at Yami as his eye reformed. "It was you. "

"Ah! Finally caught on, have you? " Yami spread his hands and he laughed.

Yami's breath smelled like sulfur. And that day Natsu had slightly smelt like sulfur, and he must have been afraid. Afraif of what, she didn't know. But what she did know....

"Yes, I was in your little boyfriends head that day. Prodding him to say the things deep in his mind. His fears of rejection made it easy to force you to leave. It was going to happen eventually in a few years but I decided to speed it up... And now here we are."

Lucy's eyes over filled with gold.

"Ah... New guests arrived a few minutes ago... Interesting."

Yami laughed, and he threw a spike at her and she raised her arms to block it.

Natsu looked up at Sting. "What the fuck?! " He said again. Sting smiler and pressed a finger to his lips. "Hush salamander. did you think we were just gonna sit there while your crazy girlfriend destroys Magnolia?"

Natsu growled. "Shut up. If your guild is helping then why in the shit are you sitting on me? "

Sting laughed and got up. "Lucy was about to attack you."

Sabertooth joined us, guys.

Yeah, we kind of figured, Natsu. Grays voice responded.

Get back to work Gray.

Natsu got up and looked at Sting. "So here's the plan. "

Stings jaw dropped. "Are you-"

"Come on! Enough chit chat! We need to go!" Natsu jumped up and he used his magic again as a boost. Sting followed him, and he saw Lucy in the air Battling Minerva. He ran to the forest and Sting did too

"So Fairy Tail communicates telepathically-"

natsu felt a hand grab the back of his vest and yank him back. The moment after, Lucy was thrown to the ground so hard she made a crater.

"You gotta be careful Salamander-"

"Shut up! Minerva, get us to the-"

Natsu suddenly felt warped, a feeling he didn't recognize and the he tumbled into a tree. He fell and hit his crotch on a branch before face planting onto the ground. Meanwhile, Sting landed gracefully.

Not natsu's day. He kept getting hit..

He jumped up and he looked around, internally groaning in pain as Sting snickered.

"Hey Light Bulb where is the rest of your guild?"

Sting shrugged. "Here and there... Waiting for an opening. "

Natsu looked at Sting. "She is more powerful than you know. She's possessed. If we fail... "

Sting grinned. There was an explosion and yells of spells. The main attack started.

Sting laughed. "Let's start the game." He started to crack his knuckles, but before he could pop his middle finger, Natsu has kicked him into a tree. He held his forearm against Sting's throat, a hand of fire inches away from his face.

Lucy did that pose... Natsu shook the thought from his head.

"This isn't a fucking game. we fail, everybody in Earth Land dies."

Sting looked at Natsu's hand. "I get it."

"You fucking better get it." Natsu growled. "If you say 'game' one more time while battling her I swear I will tear you apart. She is my Mate. If she died, I will release my inner demon. We don't want that." Natsu growled. Sting's eyes widened at the word 'Mate'.

Sting nodded.

Natsu let him go and turned away. "Your guild distract Lucy. Fight her and we got the rest. We have a plan and don't screw it up too much.

"Plan? Since when does Fairy Tail have a plan?" Sting asked, standing next to his superior. He looked over and saw anger and fear in Natsu's face. He also saw grief.

He looked away from the Fire Dragon Slayers pained expression.

"Since she came back and showed us what she was capable of."

Natsu looked over at Sting. "She overpowered Erza. Don't underestimate her. And don't think of her as Lucy. Because she isn't."

And Natsu and Sting ran towards the sounds of fighting, both silently praying.
