Lucy

"I know. When i fought him, he explained that he was the force that drove my mother to commit suicide." Lucy says. She can hear her spirits exhale in relief.

Lucy turns to the guild and says, "Alright-"

suddenly, Lucy felt a stab of pain in  her head. She gasped and bent over. Natsu was leading her to a table to sit down on and the pain kept stabbing at her, relentlessly.

She felt an aura invading her mind, and in the distance heard Natsu's panicked yells.

Do you really think that I would let this day pass peacefully? I only let this day happen because I need to gather strength and  the author wanted to give the readers a slight break....

Lucy growled, Fuck off, you damned monster.

We both know I am not the only monster here. He laughed, and didnt say anything else. The pain stopped, but she still felt the darkness. Lucy pushed it away by visualising a barrier of light.

She sat up, and met Natsu's eyes.  She stood up, concentrating more on the wall of light.

Lucy looked at the guild, and knocked away their questions with a flap of her hand. "I am fine. Now the pla-"

"nO!"

Lucy looked over at Levy, and Levy blushed. Lucy raised an eyebrow at Levy and Levy continued. "What I mean is that... it is your last day... and it should be great."

Lucy felt tears prickle in her eyes and she turned away and walked to another table. She sat down and waited as the urge to cry went away. "Like what? 10 minutes with each person in the guild?"

"Salamander doesn't get a turn because he already spent enough time with her." Gajeel snickered along with a lot of other people and Lucy turned and glared at them.

"If you guys keep talking about that, I will tell you every detail. Every detail. Then I'd literally roast you. So. Enough." Lucy turned around to hide her blush. She heard a few murmurs that included "That first part will be nice... not the second part.."

She sighed internally. Of course Erza would say that. Lucy turned back around. "Back to the original question. How do you suppose everyone.... spends time... with me?" Lucy said, distastefully. 

Natsu said, "How about we just... have a regular guild day?"

Everybody looks at Natsu. Lucy raises an eyebrow. "Do you mean wondering what Lucy will do next, and fearing for both of your guy's sanity?" Macao asked.

"No Dad, shut up. He means the old regular guild days." Romeo says. "Before Lucy abandoned us and left Natsu suicidal and came back and ruined everything." Lucy growls and she points a finger and burns a smiley face into his skin. Romeo yells out and everyone tenses, as if ready to fight Lucy. Lucy said, "Alright, enough." Then Lucy swung her head to look at Natsu. 

"'Suicidal'?" Lucy asked. Natsu smiled nervously and rubbed the back of his neck. "Well.... I thought you knew. You did say you watched  me so..." Natsu looks her in the eyes. "Almost died too."

Lucy felt a sharp pain in her heart. She looks away from Natsu and has feels the darkness intruding from the lack of concentration. She pushed away, having to squeeze her eyes closed. Right when she finished, Mira cleared her throat. She must have thought that Lucy was in emotional pain.

"I think that is a good idea, Natsu." She says, smiling. Mira meets Lucy's eyes for a second and Lucy knows she can't fool Mira. Then Mira looks away, and smiles.

"One of his many few." Gray muttered. Lucy didn't look back at Natsu. 

She closed her eyes, and she said in her lowest voice, "I'm sorry Natsu."  She opened her eyes and saw Gajeel and Wendy staring at her. They looked away, to be polite. She said it low enough that only a dragon slayer can hear. She feels a hand on her shoulder and she hears, "It is okay Luce. I shouldn't have said that."

Lucy sighs. "No, I deserved it." Before Natsu can object, Lucy said, "Alright! Let's start a fight!"

2 hours later, everybody was drinking and laughing. Lucy looked around, and dodged a chair. She never realized how much she missed this. The fighting and the near death... she smiled. 

She heard someone sit next to her.

"It is nice, isn't it?" Levy says. Lucy nods, feeling the urge to cry. "I miss this.... I always took it for granted, the fun, the fights, everything. Then... you left... and everything just went... gloomy. You may or may not realize it, but you are an important piece to this guild. Everybody thought we were lucky to have you... and if Natsu wouldn't have been so heartbroken, everybody would have chewed him out. I miss you, Lucy. The person you have become.... She is powerful, and dangerous, and scary.... but she isn't you. I know you still are in there somewhere... even though you might have everyone else fooled. You haven't fooled me. You scared me Lucy. You scared me so, so much."

Lucy looks over at Levy and see's Levy biting her lip, and tears falling down her face. Lucy reached out and took her hand. "I am sorry." That was all she could say. Nothing else.

Just. That.

Then Levy sobbed and Lucy hugged her, tears falling down her face. Levy buried her face in Lucy's neck, and said, "I knew you were still there. I knew it."

Natsu watched as the sunset. The guild was still partying, Lucy was dancing and laughing and being thrown from person to person. But he could see the glances towards the sun, the fading sun. He could feel the tension, and the worry and sadness.

Natsu looked upon the guild, and tried memorizing everybody's faces. He had a feeling someone might die. It is too likely. Lucy is too powerful.... the plan is too dangerous.

"Hey. You keep frowning like that you will ruin your handsome little face."

Natsu looked to his right and saw Lucy. She was standing there, hands behind her back, acting shy. Natsu smiled and extended his arm. Lucy walked over to him and he wrapped his arm around her shoulders. They looked at the guild together, from the balcony. Master was partying and nobody cared for guild rules. It was their last day as a complete family. 

"Natsu..."

Natsu looked over at Lucy. "Hm?"

"I love you."

Natsu smiled, and kissed her head. "I love you too, Lucy."

Lucy looked at him and tilted her face up. Their lips met, and Natsu held her tighter, and tighter. Then he tasted salt, the salt of tears. He didn't know who was crying but it didn't matter.

They're here, they're together... Even these split moments count.

Natsu pulled hesitantly away from Lucy. He looked at the sunset. "There should be 20 minutes. Do you wanna....?"

Lucy smiled, a bit sad, but she nodded. "Thought you would never ask."

"I was sneaking around awhile ago and found these secret rooms under the library... Perfect for us." Natsu said, taking Lucy's hand. They began walking.

When they made it, and they closed the doors to the party, everyone looked up at the balcony.

"Well, they are gonna fuck." Gajeel said.

 20 minutes later, Natsu and Lucy were getting dressed.

Suddenly Lucy doubled over. Natsu cursed and ran to her, but she held up a hand. "No... Natsu.."

Natsu felt pure agony wash over him. "No... Nonononono Luce, No!" Tears spilled out of his eyes.

Golden tears fell. Soon they were mixed with black.

"It is happening."
