Chapter 4

Even though it seemed like everything was perfectly ordinary, anyone who actually frequented Landor's would definitely tell you that it was anything but so. People were chatting and laughing like any other day but their attention was closely fixed to the new Outcast in town going towards the old one. The Death of the Mayor's daughter has shaken everyone up and to find that ''twas a murder seemed to add fuel to the fire.
"Do you think the Sists' did it?"
"Nay!" Boomed a laughing voice, "she's too much of a airhead and weren't she in the city?"
" Then that ferrets Stefan? He seems like the chap, who'd" and with that an archaic guesture of swiping a figure through his neck was made."
Suddenly even this buzz calmed down. The Cop and the Pretty girl had gotten up together and were leaving the diner.
" She might be the murderer after all. Ain't the mos' unlikely ones always"

They kept walking like robots in a deafening silence. There expressions stoic. Almost like aloof strangers weary of each other. Something Holly would look at him through hooded eyes. He still looked the same even after three years he was still the same boy with a lean athletic figure, honey skin and the razor sharp smirk, causing criminals and admirers to wet themselves. The only changes were his ebony hair which used to be cropped short during the days of the academy was now falling is tousled waves and his eyes which use to sparkle like chips of emerald had lost all their boyish innocence and resembled dull rainforest leaves.
She was broken out of her limbo
When she head-fast crashed into a hard surface but enough to bruise her. Walker had stopped and he had a knowing smile on his face as if he too was remembering the past.
Looking around she realised that they were at the Sheriff's station.
" We needed a place to talk away from prying years and I couldn't be seen taking you to my inn so?" He replied casually to her quizzical look.
" I don't think it's a good idea to go in!"
"Why? You gotta past with it. I really don't know much about your history so..."
She huffed with annoyance, her deceptively dazed eyes flashing with what he thought was anger and worry, now he didn't expect her to be worried.
" Don't complain that I didn't earn ya," and with that marched in Holly J with the braves bravado Detective Jason Walker had ever seen in his life.
