Three months had gone by since the filming for Dunkirk had finished but the film was far from finished. Christopher and Emma were spending ages with editors, composers and other people in order to finalise the film and make it as good as possible, sometimes taking Dotty with them but other times not. Dotty missed being on set everyday, hanging out with everyone but she knew that she would not forget all the fun that they had had over the course of the few months.
She and Fionn has spent a lot of time together quiet often but he was off rehearsing a play so their time with each other was limited at that moment in time. However, that didn't stop her from hanging out with her best friend and he didn't mind that, Tom is his brother and he loved their friendship. Fionn knew that Dotty was happy and that was all that mattered.
As for the whole, 'biological parents' situation well, that was on hold. Alec and Aoife Mulligan kept rearranging their meet up because of work commitments and as much as it meant Dotty had more time to figure out what she was going to say to them, it also made her very nervous and jittery because of the extended wait.
One of the only ways he could distract herself from it was writing her book. She had taken her alone time to write and then edit her books before deeming them complete. Then she started on yet another one that followed them. She had so much free time that writing it was very much the only thing she could do because all of her friends were off doing other things, boyfriend included.
One afternoon she decided to take a break from writing and head outside for some fresh air. Or different air than what was in her house; you can't exactly call London's air fresh. Taking her backpack with some essentials like purse, keys, phone and headphones, Dotty headed out onto the streets.
She stopped in the local park and swung on the swings for a little while listening to some One Direction being that supportive friend to Harry, that and One Direction is still and always will be her shit. It wasn't too cold out but nor was it particularly warm. The breeze nipped at her skin, raising goosebumps and her light hairs as she rocked back and forth reading on her phone.
"Dotty?" A voice broke her from her head-space. She glanced up to see the person smiling at her. "I haven't seen you in ages how are you?"
Dotty smiled, "I'm good. How about you, Nathan?"
Nathan. Anna's... boyfriend? She didn't exactly know what they were and if they were still together. He wasn't a bad guy. In fact, he was lovely, he never did anything wrong he just got stuck with a girl who clearly didn't care for him much.
Nathan sat on the swing beside hers. "I've been alright, I haven't seen you with Anna lately..."
Dotty coughed awkwardly, "Yeah we don't talk anymore."
"Oh, I'm sorry about that." He said, "I would ask why but that's your business. Truth is, Anna and I haven't spoken in ages either."
"Oh."
"Yeah, she hooked up with Marco." Nathan stated.
"Marco? As in Marco Gonzalez? Your-"
"Best friend? Yup, Marco Gonzalez my best friend and my, now ex, girlfriend." Nathan chuckled dryly, "so shit but life goes on, eh? What have you been up to anyway, you haven't been around. Last I heard you were in France and that was only because you finally posted on your Instagram account."
"France, Holland, Dorset and a few other places..."
"You were travelling?"
Dotty shook her head, "Working but that was only for a few months, for the past three I have been at home not really doing much."
Nathan nodded, "Fair enough. Hey, me and some of my other friends are going out tonight, you should come. It's a new club, we went the other night and it was wicked!"
Dotty bit her lip, "Clubs aren't really my cuppa tea."
Nathan smiled, "Come on, it'll be fun and if you don't enjoy it I'll take you home. How about that? You are one of my best friends after all, Anna or no Anna."
Dotty sighed, "Fine. What time?"
"I'll pick you up at eight."

Dotty was just finishing up putting on her shoes when her parents walked into the living room having finally returned home from work. Emma looked her daughter up and down with raised eyebrows whilst Chris smiled. "Date night with Fionn?" He questioned.
Dotty didn't know why she did it, maybe it was because Nathan was associated with Anna whom they didn't like. "Yeah." She lied standing up and checking her small bag. "This look alright?"
Emma nodded, "You look lovely, Fionn'll be speechless, although, I'm pretty sure you could look like a slob and he'll still shower you with compliments."
Dotty laughed, "Thanks Mam, much appreciated," the sound of a car horn from outside was heard, "That'll be him. Don't wait up, I don't know what time I will be home." She kissed both of their cheeks and rushed out of the door.
Nathan opened the passenger car window showing him in the drivers seat and his friend Kedar in the front. "Evening Dotty," Kedar smiled. Like Nathan, Kedar is a lovely guy and she never had anything bad to say about him.
"Evenin'," Dotty replied opening the back door to hop in. In the back sat two others, Marnie and Caleb, another two nice people who she had gone to school with but only really knew them through Anna and Nathan.
It wasn't long until they arrived at the club. Yes, Dotty felt uncomfortable, this was far from her natural habitat but Nathan stuck by her, leading her in to the building that boomed with music from the early 00's, with strobe lights flashing around. Immediately, Caleb got everyone a drink.
Dotty looked down at the liquid, "It's a cosmopolitan!" Marnie shouted over the music, "Try it! You'll love it."
Dotty raised the glass to her lips and took a swig, it was strange at first but she soon necked it down quickly. The group cheered at her accomplishment, dancing along to the music and as she downed more alcoholic drinks, Dotty didn't care that this was far from her comfort zone, she danced and sung the whole time, drunk out of her mind to even care that Anna, Marco and a few of the others that took the mick out of her months ago turned up.
"Look it's lil' Dotty!" Anna called out, "never thought I'd ever see her in a club!" She guffawed. "Let alone pissed!"
Dotty giggled and began dancing with her ex-best friend. Nathan and Kedar tried to get her away from Anna but she kept refusing, intoxication taking her over choices. "No! Let me dance with my best friend!"
Nathan grasped at Dotty's hand, "Come on, Dot, come away from her!"
Dotty shook her head, "Calm your tits Nathan, live a little don't be so grumpy!"
Kedar and Caleb also tried to pull the blonde from Anna, "Leave her alone boys, she clearly wants to hang with us, you're welcome to join us. Nathan, honey, it's good to see you."
Marnie shook her head at Anna in disgust. Nathan looked Anna up an down, "I'm only staying because of Dotty. I don't want to know either of you." He spat at both her and Marco.
Marco raised his hands drunkenly in the air, "Calm it, Nate, jeez we're just having a night out!"
"Don't call me Nate."
Dotty placed her fingers over Nathan's mouth, "don't be grouchy, Nathan, let's just enjoy ourselves!"
Nathan nodded his head and edged away from Anna, Dotty coming with him although Anna followed and the group continued to dance the night away getting drunker and drunker as time ticked by. Nobody had ever seen Dotty drunk, it was perfect Anna smirked at the squiffy girl. Absolutely perfect.
