Chapter 1

His lips brushed against the flesh of her neck, kissing her lightly. They were moving upwards, towards her lips. Her fingers were wrapped in his black locks, keeping him close to her. He tugged on her bottom lip with his teeth. Her head was slightly tilted back, exposing her neck, pushing her breasts forward, egging him on.

It worked.

She could feel his hands fluttering underneath her shirt, skimming over her skin. They were pushing upwards, her shirt riding up with them. A moment of blackness, a small thump and her shirt lay in a heap on the ground. Eloise raised her head, seductively chewing her bottom lip. His sea green eyes caught her blue ones, pausing to look at each other.

He took a deep breath. "Eloise." He breathed heavily, thickly.

Eloise wrapped her hand in his shirt, tugging him back to her lips as she slowly lay back on the pillow. He positioned himself on all fours as he kept their lips locked, his hand slowly moving to fumble with her pants. She reached up, trying to unbuckle his pants as well, her womanhood throbbing with want, with need for him. She could feel his erection, pushing against his pants, threatening to pop out with exposure. Finally, she freed it, pushing his pants and boxers down. She now lay in her undergarments while he lay on top of her, his bottom section the only nude part. She pushed at his chest, shoving him sideways into the wall. She got onto her own hands and knees, watching as he squirmed to lay in the middle of the bed, her previous spot.
She was about to move down when the feet pounding on the steps made her freeze. His eyes widened and he shot up, reaching over the bedside and grabbing her pants, handing them to her. She scrambled up, throwing his clothes to her, pulling hers back on hastily.

"Eloise? Adam? You here?" Skylar hollered and a small clinking of keys followed his voice.

Eloise popped down in her desk chair, punching a key to light up her laptop. Adam sat back on the edge of the bed, picking up her notebook he had been viewing earlier before they had been distracted. The door to the room flew open, crashing against the wall.

"This door isn't supposed to be closed."

Eloise rolled her eyes and swiveled in her chair to face him, acting as if nothing had gone on. "It wasn't closed. It was cracked open."

"It was practically closed. It stays wide open, understand?"

Eloise shrugged. "Whatever you say Boss."

Skylar sighed, rubbing his head. "Come on, everyone's here. We need to talk." He looked over the two and quirked an eyebrow at Adam. "Nice lipstick pattern." He commented, beckoning the two to follow as he disappeared from the room, shaking his head.

Eloise's cheeks flushed bright pink and she slammed her laptop shut. Adam bent over to her, cupping her chin, bringing her face to look at him.

"It's alright." He pecked her lips and got up, leaving the room as he scrubbed her lipstick off his face.

Eloise ran her tongue over her teeth, picking up her phone. Unlocking the screen, she glanced at her messages. She still ached for his touch, still ached for his lips on hers, but it all would have to wait. She stood, brushing her hair back from her face.

"Eloise, come on!" Natalie yelled.

Eloise moved, pulling her door closed behind her as she stepped into the hallway. She could see them all sitting around the table, anxious for that nights activities. Skylar was sitting next to his two daughters, Maya and Avia. His son Vincent was home with his ex-wife, too young to participate that night. Joshua sat next to his girlfriend, Anastasia, his daughter Raven sitting on his lap. Her twin brother Theodore sat next to their younger sister Natalia and then there was Adam, saving a seat for her. They were all waiting for her.
She went and slid into her designated seat, Adam's hand automatically grasping hers.

Adam was practically family. He and Joshua had been childhood best friends, their friendship never faltering. It was rocky at points, but they still stuck together. Even with him and Eloise dating, even with their age difference, Adam knew their family secret, he even participated with them.

Eloise set her phone on the shining surface of the table, trying with all her might to not look at the two empty seats at the head of the table.

Skylar stood, preparing for his speech. It was now his responsibility to give it.
"This has been a rough year, believe me I know. On this day last year, we lost quite a few loved ones. Mom and Dad, Katrina, Chairs, and an unborn who we still loved. All of them were greatly loved and all of them greatly missed. They all died, their souls cleansed as they had purged beforehand. Before we begin this night, let's take a moment of silence. Let's remember those who sacrificed their selves with greatness, for us to continue this night." He ended his sentence, closing his eyes and bowing his head.

The rest followed in suit, each closing their eyes and bowing their heads. It was deafening, the silence was a buzzing the air, constricting the need to talk.

Scuffling feet broke it, the floorboards of the stairs creaking under the weight gave way to the new comers. Ten pairs of eyes snapped to the new people.

Eloise stood, her blue eyes glimmering excitedly. "Marly, June! You're here!"

Skylar's eyebrows twitched in surprise and his lips curled up at the corners. "I'm glad to see you two changed your minds."

June smiled wryly. "We had a change of heart."
