WARNING: This chapter is significantly more explicit than ANYTHING that's happened in the story so far. This isn't exactly a PG story, but some of the phrases and mental images of this chapter are particularly special. Also, in case the picture doesn't give it away, this chapter has some VERY HEAVY SAIMATSU content, and a slight bit of Naegiri and Hinanami.

LOTS: is something going on with the Saimatsu couple right now?

Kiyo: No, I believe Kaito speaks the truth...

J0K3R: Problem is, she might have been too shocked to actually believe me

Earlier That Day:

"Hey Kaede?" Kokichi waddled up mischievously. A little distracted, Kaede turned slightly and gave the little dude an annoying stare "What is it Kokichi? I'm kinda busy?" "Busy doing what?" he asked. "Ibuki needed me to deliver these music sheets to the music room," she explained "It's important for our next collaboration. Did you need something?" "Do you know what today is?" Kokichi asked her. Kaede stopped for a moment and then turned saying "Don't tell me I'm missing someone's birthday?" "No, I think you're safe," Kokichi replied "my birthday is June 21st so its certainly not mine. No, I looked it up, but apparently today is Baby Day!" "Baby Day?" Kaede reaffirmed "I mean, it sounds legit, but I don't see why I should care...Unless you're inviting me to some kind of nephew birthday party?" "That'd be nice, but that's not what I'm saying," Kokichi smirked "have you heard the rumours about Baby Day?" "Rumours?" Kaede asked "what rumours?" "Apparently..." Kokichi grinned maniacally "if you even try to kiss the person you love on Baby Day, you MIGHT get pregnant!" Kokichi's words stopped Kaede in her tracks, and she turned around mortified "Wh-What? Th-That's a lie, right?" "Would I lie to you?" Kokichi asked sarcastically "no, I'm serious. Today is a certain day in which two people in love exchange a promise with a kiss, and they will be blessed with a child! A relative of mine tried it and guess what? It actually worked! You know what that means, right?" Kaede didn't reply, but she felt herself sweating as her thoughts somersaulted in her head. If what Kokichi was telling her was true, then if she kissed her darling Shuichi, then she could have a baby just from that! The piano freak was blushing and clutching her head, freaking out over the possibility. "Cool it Kaede," Kokichi said "I was lying. The human body doesn't work like that..." However, Kokichi didn't realise it at the time, but Kaede was far too distracted to listen to him properly...

Kokichi and Kaede split off, and later that day, Kaede was walking outside the school. By this point, she had almost completely forgotten about what Kokichi told her, as she had decided to pass it off as a lie. However, it suddenly came back to her as she was by herself. It turned out that at least a little of what Kokichi had said was true, and that today was May 2nd, which is actually classified as Baby Day. "But if me...and Shuichi..." Kaede said aloud, and as she did, the young man in question appeared out of nowhere. "You called?" he asked. Kaede yelped at Shuichi suddenly showing up, but calmed down quickly. "S-Sorry..." Shuichi stammered "I was...looking for you. Do you want something to eat?" Shuichi pulled an apple out of his pocket. "One fell from the tree as I passed it, and Teruteru assured me it was ok to eat it. I got two, so you can have one..." "Oh, thanks!" Kaede smiled, taking it off him "you must be pretty lucky to have a fresh apple fall into your hands Shuichi" "W-Well, I DID get my Ultimate Talent by chance, so maybe I am just the Ultimate Lucky Student..." he suggested "It IS a little weird how we're the only class who doesn't have one..." Kaede said, taking a bite into the apple, then noticing Shuichi was staring at her asked "what?" "Huh? Oh, nothing!" he blushed "it's just. Whenever we're together like this, I get really happy...which is weird, since we're usually always together...?" Shuichi was cute when he blushed, is what Kaede thought. His skin was quite pale, so it was particularly noticeable. As Kaede took in his words, she began to blush too. "Geez...I know I've said this before, but you say some really embarrassing things sometimes Shuichi..." "What? It's my fault?" he exclaimed, but still looked apologetic. As the two ate their apples, they suddenly heard the Monokuma morning announcement play, signalling that break was over and everyone had to return to the school building. "Well, guess we should get back?" Kaede asked, turning to return to class. Before she could make any headway however, Shuichi grabbed her arm and pulled her close. "Kaede...wait..." he said, drawing her closer for a kiss. At first, Kaede didn't react. She and Shuichi had been together for a while now, so she really wasn't concerned by his sudden PDA. However, just as Shuichi's lips were about to touch hers, the conversation that she'd had that morning with Kokichi came back to her. She knew that Kokichi wasn't one for telling the truth, but he WAS so inconspicuous it was kind of hard to tell the difference. As the two drew closer, Kaede realised that it would be better to be safe than sorry! "No! We can't!" she shoved him back with a bit more aggression than she meant. Shuichi looked embarrassed and bewildered! "N-No matter what, we absolutely can't kiss!" Kaede exclaimed "I...I still don't think I'm ready enough for this!" "Kaede? What are you-?" Shuichi began to ask, but before he could finish, Kaede sped off, leaving him confused and honestly, a little sad.

The whole situation that just happened was a bit much for Kaede. She figured something had happened to her boyfriend, since Shuichi wasn't usually so straightforward and rarely made the first move in their relationship. Kaede loved him, but thought that on this specific day, doing that kind of thing with him could be dangerous. If the two of them got into it and did it a lot, then who knows how many kids they could end up with. Kaede still wanted to believe what Kokichi told her was a lie, but he was so convincing that she wasn't sure. She realised quickly that she had to stand firm on this. However, she found that doing that wasn't so easy. After the whole incident that morning, Shuichi was left confused and dissatisfied, so he kept trying to make advances on Kaede that day, only for her to fight him off.

At the end of the day, Shuichi didn't leave the classroom before everyone else did. Kaito wanted to cheer him up, but he requested to just have some alone time. He couldn't understand why Kaede was so adamant to avoid him. As he sat there, drifting off into a depression nap, he suddenly jumped as his phone screamed. "I've really gotta change that ringtone!" he sighed angrily, but as he opened up his phone, he was surprised to see that the notification wasn't from his class group chat, but another group entirely.

SSIGC:

Egg: Hey Shuichi?

Sweetchi: Makoto, wth is up w/ your nickname?

Egg: NaEGGi?

Sweetchi: No, I GET it, but that wasn't what it was last time I checked!

AhogeGremlin: You think that's bad? look at mine!

Sweetchi: I don't wanna

Sweetchi: Also, is that Hajime?

AhogeGremlin: This was for a dare, I gotta have this all day

Sweetchi: Kool beans

Sweetchi: Anyway, what is this and why r we the only ones here?

Sweetchi: What does SSIGC stand for?

Egg: Shuichi-Saihara-Intervention-Group-Chat

Sweetchi: Intervention?

AhogeGremlin: We need to talk dude

AhogeGremlin: Because you seem more derpressed than usual and its rubbing everyone the wrong way

Egg: Did something happen between you and Akamatsu recently?

Sweetchi: ...

Sweetchi: ...not really...

AhogeGremlin: You didn't get into a fight or anything?

Sweetchi: I...don't think so...she's just been avoiding me...

Egg: If you don't want to talk about it we wont force you, but we made this group quickly because we're your friends and we want to help

AhogeGremlin: Is there anything you want to discuss?

Sweetchi: ...

Sweetchi: Kaede won't kiss me

Sweetchi: I keep getting rejected when I try...

AhogeGremlin: AASASAXSFCXSGSDCGSXGDACS!!!???!?

Egg: Whoah! Seriously?

Egg: Saihara and Akamatsu have that kind of relationship!?

Sweetchi: Why are you surprised? You know we're dating!

Egg: It's not that its just...

Egg: I didn't take you as a person who'd be into PDA

Sweetchi: You of all people don't have a right to say that

Egg: Huh? Why?

Sweetchi: Because I've seen you and Kyoko hide yourselves in many places just so you can make out with her!

AhogeGremlin: So, you don't deny it's true?

Egg: oh youre alive?

AhogeGremlin: Kids these days...

Sweetchi: Hajime, you're a few years older than us

AhogeGremlin: So what?

Sweetchi: Well, if we're talking about relationship status

Sweetchi: then no one's really got it quite like Hajime

Egg: Well yeah, his girlfriend is a meme!

Sweetchi: He's MARRIED to a meme

AhogeGremlin: TF makes you say that!?

Sweetchi: I know about the ring dickcheese!

AhogeGremlin: ...

AhogeGremlin: I think he took the whole intervention thing and turned it against us...

Egg changed the group name to ASIGC

Sweetchi: I'm assuming that the AS stands for Ahoge Squad?

Egg: yep

AhogeGremlin: Let's just get back to the fuking point...

AhogeGremlin: Is PDA regular for you and we just haven't noticed?

Sweetchi: No, but when we're in the mood, Kaede is usually the one to do it. But I try it today and she's saying now that we can't for some reason...

Egg: You think this is some kind of adult bargaining?

AhogeGremlin: I don't know what that means

AhogeGremlin: But I DO have a plan

Sweetchi: Wats that?

AhogeGremlin: Shuichi, you have Kaede's address, rite?

AhogeGremlin: Meet me at the cafeteria at 9pm and take me and Makoto there

Sweetchi: Why?

AhogeGremlin: You'll see

Sweetchi: This ok with you Makoto?

Egg: Sure!

It was now 10 in the evening, very late at night, as Kaede headed up to her bedroom to sleep. She'd said goodnight to her sister and as she entered her room, she suddenly spied a picture of her class that she had put in a small protrait on her desk. Kaede sighed as she noticed that herself and Shuichi were next to each other. This photo was taken quite early on in the year, before Shuichi had the confidence to go around without wearing his hat over his face. Before he had become strong friends with Kaito, Maki and everyone else. Before the two of them started dating. Even before they officially became a couple, Kaede always felt close to Shuichi. Back then, she realised that the boy instinctively used her as a mental and social crutch, but she never outright spoke against it. However, after a while, she made Shuichi realise that she can't always be there for him, and that he had to come into his own. It was probably at that point...that he became a much more confident person...and it was that point that Kaede realised that she had feelings for him. "I wonder if...I overdid it a bit..." she said to herself "maybe...we can do it just once..." However, as soon as these words left her mouth, she smothered the thought "No! Once is more than enough!" Suddenly, as Kaede was yelling to herself, she spun around in fright as her window burst open! At first she thought that the wind had blown it open, but then she realised that the wind can't turn handles. "Wh-Who's there!?" Kaede asked alarmingly, but then she suddenly felt a figure rush up behind her! The figure grabbed her by her wrists and spun her slightly his way, and upon recognising him, Kaede exclaimed "Shuichi! What are you-!?" Kaede was snuffed silent. Her mouth was covered by his own, as he quickly pulled her in. Shuichi had successfully taken a kiss from Kaede's lips. "Wait...Shu..i...chi!" she stammered between the snogs "I...said no!" Kaede suddenly felt her fall onto her bed, as Shuichi fell with her and landed on top of her. However, by this time, Kaede has stopped struggling. She had said no, but...Shuichi had never kissed her like this before. Shuichi was never like this, and was usually a bit more hesitant, but even though they were just french kissing, Kaede's head was going blank, second by second. Eventually, after a short time, Shuichi pushed himself away from Kaede's mouth. "K-Kaede..." he said quietly. Kaede was out of breath as she spoke softly "Y-You...idiot..." she said "if we kiss like this...then...we're really gonna...have a...baby..." Shuichi was far too distracted by Kaede's face to listen to her, and he immidietely went back to kissing her. He just kept smothering Kaede like a pet dog. However, Kaede didn't care anymore...

Hajime and Makoto had created a human ladder up to Kaede's bedroom window so Shuichi could go in and surprise attack her. Once he and Kaede finally seperated, he went to the window and waved down at them. The two boys then decided to head home, and give the two some privacy. Kaede was sitting grouchily on her bed now that the whole incident had been cleaned up. "Kaede...I'm sorry..." Shuichi said, but when she didn't reply, he poked her and asked her again "Kaede? Are you listening?" Kaede sighed and turned his way, her face red as the apple she'd eaten earlier that day. She coughed and told him quietly "I-If you're willing to...take responsibility for this, then...I guess I can forgive you..." "Y-Yes! Of course!" Shuichi exclaimed, accidently acting a bit more excited than he should have "but...why were you avoiding me all day? And what were you saying about us having a baby?" Today is...Baby Day or something like that...and I was told that...if we kissed then, I might get pregnant...with your child..." Shuichi blushed at this thought, but then looked at Kaede confusingly "but...that's not how pregnancy works. Who told you that?" Kaede thought for a moment, and then the realisation hit her. On impulse, she ran to the window, opened it and screamed out into the night.

"KOKICHI YOU BASTAAAAAAAAAAARD!"

The Ultimate Supreme Leader was laying in his bed, reading a book when he suddenly sneezed out of nowhere. However, he already knew that divine powers must have been at work. "It's your own fault you know?" he said "you didn't listen to me...

Before I get deep into the after-story discussion, I just need to apologise about my recent hiatus from Wattpad. A lot of stuff, including Christmas and my birthday and the last week of collage before the hols, happened and I haven't had ample opportunity to update this story. I'm back now, and I can't promise this is the last time I'll go on hiatus, but I'll try and make more frequent updates to this story. And now, onto the serious stuff...seriously...

This chapter served more of a purpose than just satisfying myself and other people who ship Saimatsu out there, but I really need you to listen to what I'm going to say, Ok, here goes...

Please stop ship-bashing

I have heard more people saying that Saimatsu and the other semi-canon protag ships, Naegiri and Hinanami, are forced more times than I've heard my own fucking voice! I am no position to show hate towards the people that think this and honestly, I see where you are coming from. Saimatsu in particular seems more forced than the other two, but there's an excuse for it. I'm sure I don't need to remind anyone who's actually played V3, (and lets be honest, if you haven't, why are you here?) but Kaede dies in the FIRST CHAPTER! Kyoko stuck it out to the end of the game AND the end of the anime and Chiaki is also in Danganronpa 2 for a large part of the games run time. Kaede on the other hand is only in Chapter 1 of V3, and if you ask me, yes, their relationship is a little fanfictiony, but the main highlight of Shuichi and Kaede's relationship at this point in the game is that Shuichi is using Kaede as a bit of a social crutch, and can't come out of his shell properly. This is primarily the reason as to why Kaede had to be killed off. If she hadn't, then I promsie you, Shuichi wouldn't be half the badass motherfucker that he is! And the same thing can honestly be said about Naezono or whatever the ship name between Makoto Naegi and Sayaka Maizono is called. Chapter 1 of Trigger Happy Havoc put so much light on the semi-romantic relationship of Makoto and Sayaka, and Makoto was sort of using Sayaka as a social crutch too! Of course, the way Sayaka thought of Makoto when she went out and the way Kaede thought of Shuichi when she went out is very noticably different. Sayaka was willing to sacrifice Makoto to escape wheras Kaede was willing to put her life before Shuichi's in order for him to live, meaning that the feeling that they have towards each other, even if it isn't romantic, is coming from a very genuine place. To say a ship is forced is ship-bashing at it's prime, but bear in mind, most ships from any fandom are not canon, and the same goes for Saimatsu! How can a ship be forced if said ship is never official! In fact, I'm pretty sure that the only full on canon ship in the whole danganronpa series, sans the Danganronpa 3 anime with the likes of Munakata, Juzo, Yukizome and if you want to get extremely technical, Ruruka and Sonoske, is Kaito and Maki. In the main game series, Maki LITERALLY tells Kaito right before he dies that she is in love with him, and has never felt that way towards anyone before, meaning this ship is canonical and leaving me confused as to why I see stuff like Momosai or anything of the like. But the difference is I DON'T RIDICULE THE SHIPPER FOR THEIR STRONG OPINION ON A SHIP! If you ship Kaito with Shuichi, or Maki with Shuichi, or Maki with Kaito, or Maki with Kaede, or ANYONE, then that's fine! *I* ship Shuichi with Kaede, so I'm respectful of your opinion, and I expect you to respect mine. I need to say before I end this rant that I personally have not been told to the face that my ship is bad, but seeing all these disturbing opinions of them online has left me in a position, and I speak on the behalf of everyone who likes their ships. This isn't just about defending Saimatsu, it's about defending literally any ship. In fact, I personally really don't like ships like Oumasai and Komahina, like, AT ALL, but I never say that in a way that's going to make people who like those ships feel bad. Komahina is a fucking HUGE ship that is EVERYWHERE! It's the TodoDeku of Danganronpa. But I'm at peace with this fact. It isn't a ship I like, but that's fine, I'll let people ship them because they LIKE it, and I am in no position to bash something that another person likes! A ship is an opinion. It's an opinion of two people who someone thinks would make a great couple. Given a chance, I think Shuichi and Kaede would make a perfect couple, which is why Saimatsu is my OTP. The only ships I don't like are ships that don't make sense, and even then, with something like Komahina, I'm not like "Urgh! Shut up, Nagito and Hajime hate each other..." and if I WAS to speak out against Komahina, I'd do it professionally as to not hate anybodies feelings! You're free to disagree with me about ships, but at least don't be an asshole when you do?

All right, rant over. I just needed to get that off my chest. There is so much more I could say, but I'd rather not.
