All cars were staying on pit-lane, while drivers talked to reporters and engineers. Skye was also doing the same thing with Greg.

Greg: Focus in only one thing. You need to win! No matter what happens in the race. And stay calmm while fighting with Chase. I beg you.

Skye: I'll do everything to win. Don't worry.

Greg: We don't want a crash between you and Chase, so do everything for a win except this.

Skye (sighs): Fine (gets in the car).

Greg: Good luck then (goes to the garage).

Vlad: Everything alright?

Greg: Yeah, but I still have a bad feeling about this.

Skye looked at Chases car while turning on the engine and saw Chase who looked at her and closed visor on his helmet, so Skye did the same. Chase also turned on the engine and then he heard Matts voice.

Matt: Radio check mate!

Chase: Loud and clear. Let's do this.

Valeria: We believe in you. Good luck and careful out there. Especially with Skye!

Chase: I will. Don't worry.

Steward on pit-lane gave sign that formation lap starts now and all drivers exited the pit-lane preparing for the start. Just before the start Chase drove a little ahead and let Marshall line up with Skye, which was normal thing. Then green flag waved and Daytona 500 has started! Chase started to drive away while Skye was battling with Marshall. Everest started defending her P4 from Zuma and trio of Rocky Rubble and Tracker fought against each other. On lap 4 Skye finally defended herself from Marshall and drove away to catch Chase, who formed almost 2 second gap between him and Skye. On lap 14 Zuma overtook Everest for 4th place on main straight and Tracker found place on the inside of turn 3 to overtake both Rubble and Rocky. On lap 26 Skye decreased the gap to Chase to 1.4 seconds, but it wasn't enough to catch him. 7 laps later Tracker got close to Everest and decided to stay close to her, which got Ricardo and Denny confused.

Denny: What are you waiting for?

Tracker: I need to have fast exit from turn 2 or 3, or force Everest into mistake. Need to think.

Denny: Ok, take your time, but not too long!

Meanwhile on lap 49 Rocky escaped from Rubble and started chasing Everest and Tracker. At this time Marshall started getting away from Zuma, who was trying to catch him. From lap 50 nothing has changed until lap 114, from which wave of pit-stops has started. Top-8 at the end of lap 110.

On lap 116 Zuma decided to pit first to make the undercut against Marshall, but Marshall pitted one lap later and successfully denied this move. 5 laps later Tracker pitted and came back on same position, while Rubble pitted 2 laps later and overtook Rocky for 7th place, who pitted on lap 126. 7 laps later Everest pitted and lost a position against Tracker. Chase decided to pit earlier than Skye and it worked. On lap 136 he boxed for new tyres and Skye did the same on lap 139. Vlad noticed that after all stops the gap between Chase and Skye increased to 1.8 seconds, which was quite not good.

Vlad: You're almost 2 second behind Chase.

Skye: I can see it! What we are gonna do?

Vlad: Just keep your head down, all drivers from Top-8 on 3-stop. 

Skye: Will we pit earlier than Chase on 2nd stop?

Vlad: We will pit first from Top-8. It should work.

On lap 173 Rubble started attacking Everest for 6 laps, until they approached backmacker and then Rubble overtook both of them round the outside of turn 2, while Everest did the same on the inside, but backmacker moved into her side to leave enough space for Rubble and Everest crossed over yelow line and lost control of the car. Luckily she didn't crash and kept racing.

Kevin: Are you OK there?

Everest: Yeah, I had nowhere to go. Backmacker just turned into me.

Logan: Yeah, copy. You're still 7th, so we can recover this.

On lap 213 Zuma got close to Marshall who had problems with his tyres and overtook him one lap later. 6 laps later Tracker decreased the gap between him and Marshall to 1.1 seconds.

Ricardo: Just keep going amigo. You're doing good job out there.

Denny: Currently you're 5th and you're 1 second behind Marshall. Think about attack on him.

Tracker: Yeah, but my tyres are almost gone.

Denny: Understood, so no push. Just try to save the gap.

On lap 231 Marshall almost smashed into the wall at the exit of turn 2 because of tyre wear, but he saved it and kept going.

Marshall: No grip guys! No grip!

Chase.E: Understood, we will pit soon so try to bring it in safely. Don't risk!

On lap 239 Everest also felt problems with tyres because of spinning 60 laps ago.

Everest: It's so uncomfortable to drive! Massive vibrations through whole car.

Kevin: We can see flat-spots on your tyres, but we will stay out.

Everest: God, I bet I won't sit normally after this race.

Logan: Don't worry. I'll cover this.

Top-8 after lap 250.

4. Marshall;
5. Tracker;

8. Rocky.

On lap 252 Skye went into the pits and came back on P7, then Everest pitted one lap later and dropped to P8. Tracker decided to overcut Marshall, who pitted on lap 259 and pitted 4 laps later. The plan had worked and he overtook Marshall for P4. Zuma pitted on lap 268 and stayed on P3. Rubble pitted 7 laps later and came back on P7, then Chase pitted on lap 280 and went on track on 2nd place, but returned the lead, when Rocky pitted on lap 284. Skye really got closer to Chase by 0.6 seconds, Zuma started to increase the gap between him and Tracker, while Marshall tried to catch jungle pup. Rocky moved up into P6 because of late stop and Everest couldn't do anything to Rubble, because he had fresher tyres than hers. On lap 310 Marshall overtook Tracker for 4th place and started chasing Zuma, decreasing the gap by 0.4 seconds per lap and on lap 318 he overtook him for 3rd place.

Andrew: Good job mate! Now focus!

Chase.E: You have great pace, that's what we wanted. Now manage the tyres!

On lap 332 the gap between Chase and Skye was less than second and Skye was getting closer and closer until on lap 347 the gap was only 0.3 seconds. Chase was suffering from tyre temperature and on lap 350 he finally heated them up and started getting away again.

Skye: He's escaping again! 

Matt: Looks like late stops are more effective than early stops.

Skye: No need to pit last from Top-8. I will pit on same lap as Chase!

Vlad: Copy!

On lap 361 Everest overtook Rubble for P7 and started her chase on Rocky. 5 laps later she got close to him and started attacking Rocky, who easily denied all her moves on his place. Tracker was trying to catch Zuma and thanks to backmackers, he got close to Zuma on lap 383. Using slipstream on the exit of turn 3, Tracker went on the inside of turn 4 and overtook Zuma for 4th place.

Tracker: Vamos!

Denny: Great move mate! Keep pushing!

Top-8 at the end of lap 400.

On lap 402 a group of 8 cars from P12 to P19 crashed in turn 2 and some cars who were behind them couldn't avoid the crash and got out from the race. Summarly 14 cars were out and on lap 404 Safety car has deployed.

Vlad: Safery Car Skye! Box box box! 

Skye: Copy box! Copy!

Valeria: Box this lap Chase. SC on track!

Chase: Understood!

Andrew: Box now! Safety Car on track!

Marshall: Copy that!

All pups went into the pits for their 3rd and last stop and saved all their positions. But there was one condition: who will heat up tyres better he/she will have an advantage on the restart. Chase, Marshall, Zuma and Everest heated up tyres better than others and on the restart on lap 426 Chase easily saved the lead, Marshall almost overtook Skye for P2, Zuma overtook Tracker for P4 and Everest overtook Rocky for P6 and 2 laps later she did the same with Tracker for 5th place. On lap 435 Skye defended her 2nd place from Marshalls last attack on her and started chasing Chase and surprisingly for Valeria and Matt she started getting closer to Chase. On lap 465 gap was 0.7 seconds and Rubble overtook Rocky for P7. On lap 480 Skye was just 0.2 seconds behind Chase.

Vlad: We will keep the chatter down! You know what to do! He's yours!

Greg: And please, no crash!

From lap 482 Chase and Skye started fighting wheel to wheel for the win. Skye was faster on straight, but Chase was always on the inside of all corners and had the advantage. When final lap came Skye realized: now it's all or nothing!

Matt: Last lap buddy! You can do this!

Greg: Last lap! Come on Skye!

After passing turn 1 Chase was little ahead of Skye, but on straight she got maximally close and on the exit of turn 3 Skye turned on Chase and he lost control. Trying to stabilize the car Chase pressed on brake pedal, which made car fly and flip over and over on the grass, while Skye crossed the line winning Daytona 500, or so she thought. In garages all got shocked. Chases crash was serious, the car was laying on the roof and light fire has appeared.

Chase.E: Go into the pits! Yellow flag, serious crash!

Marshall: Who cras-? (gasps)

He didn't finish his question because he already saw who crashed. It was Chase.

Marshall: CHASE!!! BUDDY!!

Andrew: Calm down, we trying to save him.

Zuma: Is Chase OK?! IS HE OK?!

Leo: We don't know! Hurry to the garage, Ryder calls you!

While all pups except Skye were coming to the garage, Vlad and Greg were shocked. They knew what happened and decided to see the replay to confirm their idea. The answer was correct: Skye smashed into Chase, causing him to crash!

Vlad: Skye, what did you do?

Greg: Maaan, I told her not to crash! What the hell is she thinking?

Vlad: I'm going to the stewards!

Vlad went to the stewards, while Greg ran to Paw Patrol and Legendary Eight.
