Jamie waited for them to leave then readied herself.

"Alright. Here goes," she said to herself.

She closed her eyes and concentrated. After some thinking, she opened her eyes to see a clone of herself.

"It worked," Jamie whispered happily then said, "Okay. Now the dress."

She closed her eyes again and thought of an outfit. When she opened her eyes, she saw the beautiful dress she was in.

Then she put a spell on herself to make her unrecognizable only to her stepfamily. She then looked at her clone.

"Just stay here and if my stepfamily come home, do what I would do," she told her.

"I will," the clone said.

She then approached the door and opened it to see Lady Sif.

"Sif, what are you doing here?" Jamie asked.

"I was going to try and convince you to come to the ball, regardless of what Sanem and Sigyn said. But I see you already decided to go," Sif said.

"Yes. And I put a spell on myself so they won't recognize me," Jamie explained.

"Good thinking," Sif replied then commented, "You look beautiful by the way."

"Thank you. You do as well," Jamie returned.

"Thank you. Now let's get going," Sif urged.

They went to her horse and Sif got in front while Jamie got behind her. Then they rode off to the ball.

Once there, they both got off and went inside.

"Now if I see your stepfamily leaving, I will find you and we'll have to leave immediately," Sif instructed.

"As you wish, Mother," Jamie teased, making Sif nudge her, which she returned.

They then separated, Sif joining Thor. Jamie looked around, wondering what to do until she spotted Loki.

She couldn't help but smile, seeing him there. But she noticed he wasn't really into the whole ball. It actually looked like he was bored. Then he made eye contact with her, which made the smile that she loves appear on his face. She moved a strand of hair behind her ear as he started making his way to her. She, in response, walked toward him until they were face to face.

"I see the beautiful maiden has decided to come to the first ball," Loki said.

"I see that you are most likely smiling for the first time this evening," Jamie told him.

He chuckled and replied, "You would be correct. And the best part of the night is standing right in front of me."

She blushed with a smile and returned, "It is the same for me."

He smiled then they heard the song, "I'm With You", making them look toward the musicians. Then they looked back at each other with smiles and Loki held out a hand to her.

"May I have this dance, my lady?" Loki requested.

Jamie placed her hand in his as she answered, "You may, my prince."

He led her to the middle of the room and they started dancing together. As they did, everyone gave them room to dance.

At the very end, they bowed to each other. Everyone clapped for them, but they only focused on each other.

As the night continued, they danced to more songs and didn't dance with anyone else. Then Sif noticed Sanem and Sigyn leaving, so she went to Jamie, who was talking to Loki.

"J. We have to go," she told her.

"What? Why?" both Loki and Jamie asked.

"You-Know-Who and her daughter left," Sif said.

Jamie realized what she meant and looked back at Loki.

"I'm sorry. I must leave," Jamie told him.

"Will I see you again?" Loki asked.

"I shall try to be here," she promised then she and Sif left.

They got on Sif's horse and made it to Jamie's house just in time.

"Thank you, Sif," Jamie thanked.

"My pleasure. Now get inside before we're caught," Sif urged.

Jamie nodded, got off the horse, and ran to the barn. She made it, made the clone disappear, took the spell off, and changed into her regular attire.

Then she ran back to the house and pretended to clean the dishes as Sanem and Sigyn walked in.

"Evening. How was the ball?" she asked.

"Why do you care? You didn't go," Sigyn snapped.

"The prince only danced with one maiden the entire night. Sigyn was more beautiful than her. I do not understand," Sanem said then they left for their chambers.

Jamie sighed in relief and whispered to the brightest star in the sky, "Until tomorrow, my prince."
