Chapter 16: The Truth
Jamie then changed into a different outfit then she, Loki, Sif, Thor, and the guards made it back to Asgard.
(A/N Outfit.)
Jamie couldn't help but glance over at Loki with nothing but a smile full of love. He looked back at her, but that didn't make her stop. He returned it then reached his hand over to her, which she accepted it.
"Are you happy, love?" he asked her.
"Very. It's just that..." she said, trailing off at the end.
"What?" Loki wondered.
"What about the law of you marrying a princess?" Jamie asked.
He smiled and assured her, "Do not worry about that."
She looked at him with a suspicious smirk. He couldn't help but laugh at her.
"I promise," he said.
"Okay. I trust you," she told him.
Loki was touched at that. He was the God of Mischief and yet someone trusted him. That was another sign that he was in love.
They all made it to the castle and Sif and Thor wished them luck as they entered the throne room to meet Odin. Jamie was really anxious and Loki sensed it, so he wrapped his arm around her in reassurance.
"It will be okay," he said.
She smiled up at him then rested her head on his shoulder, saying, "Thank you, Loki."
They made it to the bottom of the stairs that led to the throne and Odin came out.
(A/N Odin's outfit.)
"Father," Loki greeted with a nod as Jamie bowed.
"Loki," Odin returned it then asked, "And might I ask who this beautiful, intelligent maiden is?"
Jamie smiled in thanks to him.
"This is Jamie, the maiden I danced with at all three balls. She has my heart completely and I would be grateful for you to give us your blessing to be married," Loki explained.
She looked between father and son with hope in her eyes.
Odin nodded then asked, "Is she of royal blood?"
Jamie looked away from both of them, immediately saddened by that question.
"Yes. She is," Loki answered.
Her head shot up in confusion and looked at Loki like "What are you doing?"
"My son, I understand that you are in love with this woman, which makes this answer harder to say, but you cannot just lie about her being royal in order to do so," Odin told him.
"I'm not lying, Father. I have evidence and Lady Sif has told me herself," Loki replied.
Jamie was now shocked at this. How was there evidence and how could Sif know of her being a royal?
"Very well, let me see this evidence," Odin requested.
Loki made the birth certificate appear then quickly whispered to Jamie, "I'll explain when we leave."
He went up the steps and handed Odin the evidence. He looked it over and his eye widened a bit. Jamie was curious to what was going on.
"There is no fabrication on this document and no magic of any kind to manipulate the truth," Odin stated as he looked at the document more, looked at Loki, and finally said, "She is of royal blood, so you both have my blessing."
Loki smiled, as did Jamie, despite how confused she was. They then left the throne room and went to his bedroom.
"Loki, what is going on? How am I royal?" Jamie asked him as he sat on his bed with the biggest smile on his face.
"Look at this," Loki instructed, giving her the document as she sat beside him, then said, "Sif told Thor and I that before your father went off to fight the Dark Elves, he told her that when you were in love, you should know the truth."
"What truth?" she wondered.
"Your mother, Diana, was of Asgardian blood, but originated from Earth. She aged like us. But what makes it interesting is that she was the princess of Wales," he explained.
Her eyes went wide and she couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"Loki, are you saying...that my mother is of royal blood and also the mother of Prince William and Prince Harry?" Jamie asked.
"That is precisely what I'm saying," Loki lightly chuckled then said, "Jamie, ever since I met you, Odin has been wanting me to betroth. And I said that I would only do so if they loved me for who I was, not just because I was a prince. Also, the fact of whether she was royal or not did not matter to me. I fell in love with you before I found out you were a princess."
Jamie felt a tear go down her cheek as she smiled. Loki wiped it away gently then kissed her. They did this until they needed to breathe.
"But...there are two things we need to do to make it official," Loki told her.
"And what might those be, my prince?" Jamie lightly teased.
He chuckled, made her shoe appear, then said, "Step One."
She smirked then made the other appear in her hand.
"Alright," she said.
He couldn't help but smile at that. She took off her shoes then put the one she had on one foot. Then Loki got off the bed then down on one knee to put the other on. Both of them fit perfectly. The couple looked at each other with smiles.
"And now...Step Two," Loki said seriously.
He stayed on one knee and made a beautiful ring appear. Jamie cupped her mouth shut as she felt happy tears form.
(A/N The ring.)
"Princess Jamie of Midgard, I am not asking as a prince, but as a man who has truly fallen in love with you beyond anything in the nine realms. So...will you marry me?" Loki asked her.
Jamie put her hand on her heart then nodded her head as she answered, "Yes."
He smiled and they both stood up. He put the ring on her shaky left ring finger then they wrapped their arms around each other. He spun her around in happiness and when they faced each other, they kissed passionately.
"I love you," Jamie said, her lips brushing against his.
"I love you too," Loki responded, his hand reaching her cheek.

A/N Yay! Happy day!
P.S. Diana is not my actual mother; this was just a plot twist.
