Chapter 38

Gauri holds her head feeling the earth shaking beneath her feet , Her lips curve up suddenly remembering the strange dream She had , her fingers involuntarily moves towards her lips "It felt so real" She whispers as her cheeks are kissed pink.

She blinks her vision twice to see that She was in her room , She balances herself on her feet as She feels her head shaking "What's gotten into me?" She murmurs holding onto the bedpost "Everything is going round , round !"

Gauri shaking her head twice walks out of the room placing her feet one by one trying to balance herself from falling . She lets out a gasp finding Omkara sleeping in the chair outside her room with wine stains in his shirt and his hairs disheveled .

Her eyes widens as She shuts it tightly closed remembering her almost pushing her finger into his hairs pulling him more closer her to her as his lips travelled down her jaw trailing wet kisses down her throat before kissing her again on her lips as She held onto him tightly . Her cheeks acquire a warm shade as She sprints inside the room and pulling her dress out runs into the washroom while switching on the shower , She blushes remembering him almost trying to mark her his . She dries her hairs in the washroom after wearing her dress still lost in the moment they shared that She ends up slipping due to the little water present on the tiles . Gauri lets out a yelp as her legs hit the cold tile floor followed by her left hand . Her head gets knocked lightly as she passes out unable to bear the pain .

Shivaay who was teasing Khannaji and Saanvi for their stunt hearing Gauri's loud screeching dashes into the house , Bhavya and Rudra run from the opposite direction , Omkara blinks his eyes twice wondering where is he? , he sees the shadows of the four running towards his direction , he turns his head slightly to see him in front of Gauri's room , He crawls hurriedly behind the pillar least they saw him outside her room , it is going to be a disputation .

Omkara looks curiously seeing everyone including Anika who joins them running in . His breath stops seeing Gauri unconscious in the arms of Khannaji as they run towards the hall . He sees Khannaji placing Gauri on the backseat of the car as Saanvi takes her seat and Bhavya sits in the front as Khanna drives off.

Shivaay and Anika look at each other worriedly as they come inside the cottage with Rudra as for now only one car was available . Omkara runs to his room showering himself up changes into a new pair of pants and a v-shirt t-shirt . Omkara grabbing his phone and wallet dashes out of the room but stops seeing Rudra, Shivaay and Anika looking at him weirdly

"Ermm—Om Where are you going early morning?" Anika asks quickly before Omkara could reply she worriedly blabbers "Gauri slipped on the floor and had fractured her left arm and her right ankle is twisted very badly –She had got herself a cast and is now under concussion!"

Omkara lets out a sigh of relief which went unnoticed by the three of them as they were more worried about Gauri . Omkara wanted to see her right now , God damn! His mind had been jammed he cannot remember any single he did or they did after few drinks they had last night .

"Okay" he replies not knowing what else to say. Anika nods and turns to looks at Shivaay who turns away not meeting her eyes .

Khanna reconfirms with the Doctor worried seeing her almost sleeping for more than three hours now .

"She is under mere concussion she would be fine –She would have got scared due to the fall that she passed out—She would be waking up anytime soon" Doctor says with a smile and leaves the room as they sigh in relief .

Gauri flutters her eyelids opening it slowly , She looks around to find Khanna , Saanvi and Bhavya running towards her worriedly . Her eyes searches for him seeing him nowhere near her face falls .

"Ahh" A yelp escapes as she tries to sit up that's when she notices the cast in her left arm and right ankle

"Slowly boy !" Bhavya says holding Gauri and proceeds to tell that She had fractured her bones badly .

"We are going back –Vacation is cut short !" Khanna informs as Gauri's face falls

"It's because of me" She says disappointment

"No—Gauri –There wouldn't have been a vacation in the first place without you " Khanna says smiling as Bhavya to nods wrapping an arm around her shoulder making Gauri smile a little .

"I'll inform the boys" Khanna says while pulling his phone out and leaves the room

"How are you feeling?" Saanvi asks taking a sit beside Gauri

"My muscles are aching so much !"

"It will be fine !" Saanvi says running her fingers through Gauri's hairs .

Gauri nods but instantly feels sad as She hugs Bhavya tightly , Somewhere She had hope he would come running to her and give her a protective hug and chide her for her carelessness . Unknown to her Knowledge there Omkara stays outside the room since the past two hours seeing her through the glass , His feet had stilled in his place unable to move to her as For the first time he found himself nervous to go check on her when there was an audience - He was scared that his new found feelings would end up pouring out too affectionately giving a clue to the others of his highly beating heart because of her .It wasn't that he cared about it He did not want to make it obvious when He was yet to know her feelings . He leaves the hospital hearing Khanna talking over the phone that they are planning to leave from the hospital and requesting a maid to pack their clothes .

Omkara walks into her room , the place she had been staying , and slightly grins seeing her notebook scribbled with various plans for the vacation and her family-making service. Shaking his head with a smile Omkara packs her things in her bag least the maid missed her things while packing .

Walking outside with his bags in one hand , Omkara sees Anika ,Shivaay and Rudra ready to leave with their trolley bags in hand .

"Om" Anika calls him with a small smile "Khannaji left with Gauri , Saanvi di and Bhavya to Delhi and we have to take a flight back home , Let's get going" Omkara nods as Anika looks at Shivaay and Rudra who follow behind her.

Soon they are in the car travelling to the airport in silence . The atmosphere around had turned awkward specially between the boys after their scared hugs they had .

Gauri with the rest travel in the car towards The Oberoi mansion as Gauri looks out the window lost in her thoughts about The Kiss they shared yesterday . Iit all feels like a dream , a beautiful dream she wants forever but is it possible ?

"Gauri—Where are you lost?" Saanvi teases nudging Gauri by her shoulder .

Gauri breaks out of her daze as a warm shade acquires her cheeks "Di Last night" She winks making Saanvi widen her eyes and gapes and ends up blushing .

"Shut-up" Saanvi whispers back making Gauri chuckle

"What happened last night between you and Om?" Saanvi whispers on Gauri's ears so that Khanna doesn't here who was sitting on the front seat.

"Nothi—ing –Actually—I –can't –remember anything –Yes I can't remember !" Gauri stutters nervously and turns her head to the other side while passing a nervous smile .

Saanvi shakes her head smiling knowing something happened .

Roop looks at her phone hopefully waiting to receive the address where Kali Thakur lived , She unknown to her husband's knowledge had called on the phone number which said that he knows the place where Kali lived and Roop had promised to pay that man the full amount if he only said the place they could find Kali and he being an idiot sends a message to Roop of Kali's whereabouts and asks for his payment which Roop ignores and smiles wickedly tracing the address with her finger tips .

"We'll screw that girl!" Ridhimaa and Roop chorus high-fiving with each other .

Bhavya and Saanvi help Gauri to the doctor as they check in to the hospital . Khannaji had suggested they stop by the hospital and check on once before going home.

The doctor assures all would be fine but it is going to take two weeks to remove the casts . Gauri hobbles on her crutches while wrapping one arm around Bhavya's shoulder as Saanvi helps Gauri out of the room .

They look to their left and right not finding Khannaji around d. Saanvi makes Gauri sit on the nearby chair while pulling gout her phone to ring up Khannaji.

Khannaji swipes her call cutting it as He talks to the doctor of Mr.Oberoi's health . He had been shocked to know through Mrs.Kapoor , Mr.Oberoi's Personal secretary, that He had been hospitalized as she had clearly mentioned to keep it under wraps Khannaji had come up with an excuse to run to the hospital to check on Gauri's health.

Khannaji had met Mr.Oberoi briefly before walking out to have a talk with the doctor .

"As you see Mr.Khanna , Mr.Oberoi is suffering from blood cancer ! Precisely it falls on the category Acute myeloid leukemia ! "

Khannaji composes himself shocked as he asks with his voice slightly cracking 'But how?"

"one being his age –usually people mainly male over 65 tend to be diagnosed with this type of cancer and well in Mr.Oberoi's case another main reason had been his smoking and drinking habits ! "

Khannaji nods understanding "Is there any way we could cure him?"

"Yes , Mr.Khanna , We have to start treatments soon as possible before it spreads across various parts of the body , We would start with chemo therapy and then move onto Stem Cell Transplant but We need to find a donor whose blood matches with Mr.Oberoi , We need to speed up the process ! "

"Is there a possibility we could get a donor soon?"Khanna asks hopefully

"We have passed the information to various donor banks let's hope We could find one soon but the best is to indulge the condition of Mr.Oberoi to his family as There is a possibility we could get a donor within!"

"But Mr.Oberoi is staunchly against the notion!" Khanna says in defeat

Doctor nods understanding "Let's hope for the best !"

Khanna nods thanking the doctor he paces out pretty upset about the turns of events , He was glad that it was the first stage because it gives him hope that Mr.Oberoi would be fine . Mr.Oberoi could be cold-hearted and rude but to Khanna he had always found a father figure in him given that his own was deceased .

Gauri spots Khanna walking towards them pretty upset and worried "Are you fine Khannaji?" She asks gaining the attention of Bhavya and Saanvi

"Yes" Khanna replies deciding not to worry them as Mr.Oberoi vehemently refused not to let others know .

"Khannaji if you are worried about me –let me tell I am too strong –I'll be up on my legs in a week !" She says in an attempt to cheer up Khanna.

Khanna gives her smile as He feels Saanvi holding his palm and squeezing it lightly assuring him all would be fine . Khanna squeezes back in gratitude happy that there is someone who can understand his dilemma without the need for words .

They leave from the hospital .

"I am here to meet Mr. Kali Thakur!" Roop says to one of the worker in the construction site .

"I'll pass the message" He says with a smile and turns on his heels and walks the opposite way as Roop and Ridhimaa stands there in the hot sun , frowning as sweat beads fall from the side of their forehead. how long Do we need to wait?

Kali comes after exactly thirty minutes with a cigarette in his fingers while puffing out smoke.

Roop frowns irritated as Ridhimaa looks at him annoyed , "Oye Kali !" She whispers yells whispered

Kali frowns and takes a step towards Roop "What do you need?" he asks plainly clearly showing his disinterested on the guests .

"I am the one who raised Gauri all this years! "

"Who Gauri?" he asks her confused

"Your Daughter Gauri!" Roop yells at him as Ridhimaa nods at Kali

"Miss – I am very much single then how can I have a daughter?"

"Ohh I see you couldn't forget your lover that you remained unmarried ? so much love aah!" She mocks at him

"Anjali?" he asks her stunned

Roop takes that as a confirmation knowing He knew Gauri's mother ,Anjali,

"Gauri was born to you but It was me who raised her!"

He looks at her dumbfound as She continues "My husband was kind enough to raise someone else's sperm but it's high time you chin up like a man and admit that you are Gauri's father!"

Ridhimaa glares at the man who was looking at them shocked .

Kali composes himself as he says "There is some misunderstanding Miss . I have no daughter!" He tells word by word trying to explain to Roop.

"Misunderstanding was mine ! I can't believe that I spent money raising another's child thinking it is my husband's ! And Feeding your child we gone poor ! " She yells and pauses to take a deep breath as Kali rolls his eyes frowning

"I was going to demand money as a recompense but seeing that probably you look poorer than me take your daughter and leave!" She orders angrily .

"Are you out of your nuts woman? There is no daughter of mine!" He yells trying to state facts .

"How can you even deny that she isn't yours? You were with Anjali that day weren't you?" She questions him

He nods but before he could open his mouth , Roop cuts him off "That Sl*t of a daughter of yours is trying to catch a rich husband but That slu*t doesn't know that her father is a poor construction worker !" She vents out disgustingly .

Kali who had been wanting to throw the both ladies out stops as that statement catches his attention but he decides to be silent wanting the woman in front of him to continue .

"Rich-husband?" He whispers seeing Roop gone silent taking deep breaths

"That slu*t is trying to catch the Oberoi brothers ! Take away that girl from the Mansion You Poor Old man ! " Ridhimaa spits venomously at him .

Pulling Roop by her forearm Ridhimaa drags her out as they leave .

Kali gets a call soon as they leave , He sighs shaking his head stressed out seen a loan shark calling , He answers the call

"I'll pay the money soon!" Kali yells over the phone

"How long Kali? " The man from the other end barks over the phone while swearing

Kali goes silent for a minute as his face gleams wickedly "Very soon!" .

Omkara and the other three walk into the Oberoi Mansion carrying their bags . Omkara still puzzled about what happened last night unable to recall anything detects the tension between Anika and Shivaay who are not looking into each other's eyes . Anika's hurt and upset look disturbs him .

"Ani –come let me drop you" Omkara offers in the idea of planning to ask her on the way what happened last night that she looks dull.

Shivaay lets out a frustrated sigh and marches angrily to his room . Come I'll drop you Ani! Omkara's words irritates him as he drops himself to the bed .

Omkara glances time to time at Anika who seems lost while driving , He turns the steering wheel and applies brake while stopping the car near her place.

Anika gets down absent-mindedly still lost in Shivaay's words before coming from the Shimla .

'Let's pretend nothing happened!"

It was his exact words when she had spoken about the kiss they shared .

How can he even think that she can just stay like nothing happened? I kissed the man I love and He thinks it is easy for me to get over the kiss we shared? The kiss had more meanings and emotions he failed to show me or say me and He tells to act like everything is normal?

"Ani –We are here!" Omkara calls her out in a louder tone as she jerks back

"You scared me!" She whispers yelling while taking shallow breaths . Omkara chuckles lightly making her smile back .

"I've never seen you smile so care-freely like I saw you yesterday night after being drunk" She says winking "actually you looked cute –smile often it suits you than the scowl you used to have !" She says mocking with a chuckle

I will –When She is around ! He thinks mentally but passes a small smile at Anika .

Omkara walks Anika towards her door.

"Om come in –" Anika offers with a smile . Omkara opens his mouth to say something but stops seeing two shady men approaching towards them .

"Where is Ashwin?" He asks raising his tone eyeing Anika from top to bottom making her feel uncomfortable under their gaze

"Papa is on a business trip" She says softly

Omkara places himself between Anika and The men . Looking at Omkara they walk away just like that without saying anything.

"Have you seen them before Ani?"

"No—This is the first time" Anika says hurriedly

"Their look did not seem good –" Omkara says suspiciously as Anika too nods wondering what is the deal between them and her father .

Omkara giving her a side hug leaves the place .

Gauri with the help of her crutches and Bhavya walks into the hall of the mansion . Rudra and Shivaay who had been scrolling their phones raise their heads up to see Gauri giving them a full smile despite the casts put on.

Omkara who had just walked in sees her . Gauri feeling his presence raises her head up looking towards him . Her eyes darts unconsciously towards his lips as she gulps her saliva down her throat feeling her throat getting dry . Her cheeks acquires a warm shade but she bites her inner cheeks to stop herself from smiling idiotically but soon a frown appears remembering he did not even come to see her in the hospital .

Saanvi nudges Gauri by her shoulder seeing her gone red. Gauri whispers back a 'shut-up'. Omkara runs his eyes from her arms to her injured ankles as his eyes fills with worries . something stirs in his heart and that too after coming to conclusion with his feelings he wants to run and giving her hug or scratch that –scoop her and walk around until she heals maybe?

"Gauri Oh girl you are badly injured " Shivaay says dramatically making Gauri chuckle

"Gauri—how many days would it take for you to run around me?" Shivaay jokes walks towards her . Gauri smiles seeing the concern in Shivaay's eyes He was one hell of a friend she has ! A jerk ! but good-hearted !

"Ohh Shivaay even now I could pull your hairs!" She says joking while giving in a wink

"No—no-I—am—Fine—this way " He says horrified remembering the last time she had pulled his hairs in Shimla .

Gauri laughs cupping her mouth .

"Bachchi " Meena maa comes calling out to Gauri happily but pauses her eyes filled with concern and worry "Oh go—What have you done to yourself ? "

"Meena maa I am Fine –your bacchi is too strong haina?" She says softly while hugging her .

"You are so careless !" She chides Gauri lightly "If you were careless what was O—" She stops seeing everyone around

Omkara's lips curve up in a smile knowing what his maa was about to ask if you were careless what was Omkara doing? wasn't he suppose to look after you? I am going to pull his ears for letting you injure you injure yourself !"

Gauri raises her brow at Meena maa , luckily none was paying attention to her words but Saanvi and Bhavya pass a knowing teasing look at Gauri . Bhavya meaning since everyone knows about you two but your idiots are wasting time .

"I am going to the room" Gauri announces and takes few step with the help of her crutches. She ends up losing her footing as she opens her mouth to scream soon as her head hits the marble .

Omkara and Shivaay catches her from either sides . Omkara moves his fingers towards her face removing the fringes away from her face . She feels tingles around her cheeks as She raises her eyelashes looking into his eyes .

"You know I can be your human crutch !" Shivaay offers jokingly while helping her stand straight . Omkara extricates his hands away from her forearm and takes a step back.

Meena , Saanvi and Bhavya chuckle lightly seeing the two looking nervous.

"You know you are no longer her fake-boyfriend !" Rudra jokes reminding Shivaay as he paces towards them and steps in to support Gauri to help .

Bhavya frowns seeing him looking at Gauri with concern no she is not jealous .

Rudra bites his lower lip while seeing the through the corner of his eyes Bhavya's frowning deepening as he holds Gauri by her forearm.

Gauri looks at Rudra suspiciously as She chuckles seeing him winking as his eyes pleads to play along . Gauri sees through the corner of her eyes Bhavya glaring at Rudra .

"Rudra could you help me to the room" Gauri asks sweetly as Rudra more than readily helps her to the room .

Omkara glares at their retreating figure as the two , Omkara and Bhavya burn in jealously..

Meena maa chuckles slightly seeing Omkara's red face seems like my boy has finally come around. Meena maa turns around to walk back to the kitchen that's when her eyes falls on the new member.

"Who is this Khannaji?" Meena asks smiling

Khannaji tells in a shy tone "My Fiancée !"

"Hayee –seems like Khannaji got a bride from Shimla" She sees winking happily .

Saanvi chuckles as She gives Meena a hug "He did long back"

"Seems like there is more story to this" Meena says chuckling as Saanvi nods

"Mrs.Mathur I and Saanvi are leaving now" he informs

"Where?"

"I'll drop Saanvi at my place and come back here" Khanna says smiling while taking his leave with Saanvi trailing behind .

Soon all disperse to their respective rooms .

Once inside the room Gauri and Rudra burst out laughing. Gauri stops laughing as She asks him "So You like her?"

Rudra nods "I like her !"

Gauri gives him a hug happily "She is my precious boy-Keep her happy!"

"I would like to go a date before making things official "

Gauri nods understanding happy for her boy, Bhavya,.
