I'm now heading home and along the way, I see young monsters running, stopping, and then sliding along the icy streets. Sometimes, I even saw them run, stop, slide, then grab the lamppost that was at the end of the icy tread. This caused them to go into a spinning motion, in which their game, gave them a few more points I think. However, there was one kid that I could single out among the rest. It was a rather small child. One in which I think was smaller than Blue and, unlike the others, he wasn't playing with the rest of 'em. He appeared to be a cripple, due to his crutches he's on. I shrug and keep walking along the way home until I feel a tug on my jacket.
"Excuse me, sir?" The tiny child asked.
I sigh and pretend to be into the Christmas spirit before turning around. "Hello young one! What can I do for you?" I say with one of those 'You look happy but your really not' looks.
"Are you Dream?"
"Yes." I nodded.
"Do you know where my father is by any chance?"
"Who's your father?" I ask him.
"Ink is my father."
I glance around, trying to find Ink until I see him standing behind the tiny child. "I don't know," I shrug. "But, if you turn around, you might find who you're looking for." I tell him.
I felt really good when I heard the small one cry out "Father!" as he limped over into Ink's arms and fell into deep conversation.
"Have you been good around the other children, Cross?"
The tiny child giggle as he said "Yes Father."
Ink glances at me with a thankful nod and a grateful smile. I don't pay any attention as I disappear into the chilling, gloomy, quiet, melancholy fog of the moonlit night.
