Chapter one
Astrid
As I see Snoutlout with Hiccup, it is hard to believe that those two are related.
Hiccup and Snoutlout has different personalities, and a lot of the villagers thought that Snoutlout is the best Viking in all of Berk.
The most thing that Berk has is the Dragon Training. It has been generations that every child in Berk has to follow.
Someday it will be our turn to kill those beasts that we must defend our village from.
Rumors that there is one dragon that we most fear that we never seen: A Night Fury.
No one ever encountered one and no one ever seen it or what it looks like.
To me, it is a way to scare little kids for disobeying their parents at night.
"Astrid, what is in your mind?" Fishlegs asks me.
Fishlegs is one of the most brains of our group. He has Dragon knowledge and he always silent at most times.
"It's nothing, Fishlegs. I'm fine." I said to the Viking.
He looks at me with total confusion.
"Are you really sure?" He asks.
I rolled my eyes at the Viking's clueless.
"Yes, I am! Now, let's go to the Great Hall before the food is gone!" I demanded.
Chef Agnes served our food in plates and then we sat in our usual table to discuss our daily lives.
"So, Snoutlout, how are things with your parents?" I asked.
"The usual. Dad and Stoick will have a meeting soon here, probably to find the beasts." He replies.
Spitelout and Stoick were always a team, even though they're brothers.
The hall suddenly became reticent as the whole village notices the young brown-haired Viking.
The boy stares at us for a bit before sitting in a table behind us.
As he sits quietly in his corner, Ruffnut said, "Hm. Look who decided to show up."
Her brother, Tuffnut chuckled, "Yeah, he's so weak, I bet he couldn't get through Dragon Training!"
Hiccup didn't reply to the twins' comments.
"I still think he shouldn't be here. I mean look at him. He doesn't look ready as the future Chief of Berk!" Snoutlout jeered at his relative.
That got Hiccup to rose up from his seat and faces him, angrily.
Hiccup
I had it. I couldn't stand of Snoutlout's jokes about me and he bugs me too much for me to handle the anger inside of me.
I rose from the table I was sitting on as the whole village watches the scene.
"You listen to me, Snoutface, you made fun of me ever since I can remember, and you really treat me like I was not important to you, but I will prove you wrong." I said.
I raised my fist into a fighting position and was about to hit him, a voice boomed through the throng, "What is the meaning of this?!?"
It was my father. The Chief stared at me directly.
"Hiccup, this is not the way of being Chief." He said. I knew this is his way of a pep talk in front of his whole tribe.
"Oh, what you going to do, Stoick? Punish me in front of the tribe?" I challenged the Chief.
The villagers stare at their Chief, wondering what he would do.
"We'll discuss this later." He replies as he left the throng.
I sighed silently as I walk towards the front doors of the Great Hall.
I felt like an outsider and I decided to take things into my own hands.
I picked up a small knife and went to the woods alone.
