I've Gone Quiet Now
I don't react to things the way
that I used to. I used to be the
loudest laugh in the room.
I thought if you weren't
heard, it didn't matter, that
watching life unfold in silence
was cold. My grand-father
watched everything in silence.
He ate dinner at the table with
his eyes shut. He wasn't cold.
We still feel his warmth.
I see the things he saw then.
It's an incredible feeling, to be
content with watching life unfold
from the comfort of your own
silence. This is who I was
becoming all along and I'm
okay with her silence, I don't
mind if the world isn't.
