NATHAN'S POV

I had no idea of any other way to get to Eve. I also didn't want to show up at her dorm always. I scrolled through my saved contacts and saw 'Eve's best friend.' I then remembered the day after the party where she called her friend with my phone.

I quickly texted her friend and asked for Eve's number. After she had sent it, I immediately texted her due to how much I had missed her.

"Hey. It's Nathan." My fingers pressed the narrow keys on the phone quickly.

Is that okay enough? Since when did I even care about my text messages?

Minutes have passed and there was still no reply. With my phone in my right hand, I walked sluggishly to the kitchen to grab something to snack on. Upon picking a bag of spicy flavoured chips, I heard the message tone from my phone.

My attention shifted to the screen of the phone immediately.

"Hey." Her reply was short and precise.

"How are you? By the way, I got your number from your friend."

I sat on the couch and opened the bag of chips. I stared at my phone and awaited her reply.

"I'm fine. Cool. How are you?" She texted back quickly after.

"I'm good. What are you up to?" I asked her, trying to hold onto the conversation.

"I have a few minutes till my next class so I'm just in my dorm. I think I should get going so I don't get late again."

"Okay then... text me after?" I suggested.

"I'll try... Later!"

"I'll be waiting!"

With that, there was no reply. She didn't sound like herself. Is she avoiding me or something? She can't be. Maybe I should surprise her at her place? As I continued munching on my chips, I thought this decision through.

EVE'S POV

All this is new to me. This feeling; it's all new. I arrive early to my class this time, at least. The lecturer wasn't in yet. I plugged in my earphones and scrolled through Emma's pictures as I listened to soothing music. I should find time to visit her though.

"Good morning." The lecturer had finally arrived. I unplugged my earphones and listened to what he had to say. "Today is all about exercises. I'm going to give a lot and you're going to try them and bring them next time we meet. You can try your hands on them now if you want."

The papers went round the class and I had my share. I tried my hands on them right away. About an hour later, it was time for the end of the class. I packed up the work and left to my next and final class for the day.

The last class was a quick one. I was on my way to my car when I had a call. From Nathan...

"Hi." He spoke softly.

"Hi."

"I'm outside. Open the door?" He said as soon as I sat in the warm car.

"I'm not in now but I'm close by though." I started the ignition and set for the road.

"Okay. I'll wait then."

"Okay, bye." I let the phone fall from my ear unto my lap as I drove to campus.
