EVE'S POV

Laziness didn't allow me to cook so I decided to get something nearby to eat instead. I grabbed my keys and my purse. I had to buy a phone as I still didn't have one. As soon as I headed out, I met Emma. She didn't utter a single word but she was smiling. She dragged me to her room and sat me down on her bed.

"I have a surprise for you," She smiled widely. "Close your eyes." She demanded and I obeyed. She held my hand out and placed a box into it.

What is this girl up to?

She asked for me to open my eyes. I slowly did and was astonished by what I saw. I looked up to her and her contagious smile affected me. I held the packaged box in my hand firmly, checking it out.

"Emma, you didn't have to..." She rolled her eyes at me dramatically before she spoke.

"What do you mean? I had no one to send my silly face pictures to, apart from Josh. So here you go." I was dumbfounded. I was simply short of words.

"Thank you so much Emma. You're the best," I hugged her tightly and she did me as well. Her sweet familiar scent loitered around the bridge of my nose and I smiled.

"You're welcome. Where were you heading to?" She asked as I admired the phone. My stomach grumbled at the question she asked.

"I was going get something to eat." I was still very excited that I barely paid any attention to the noise my stomach made.

"Well, I just cooked if you don't mind," She shrugged as she spoke.

"Good. I'm starving," I followed her into the small kitchen and the aroma of the food made my mouth water.

We ate the delicious meal Emma had prepared. My stomach was full to the brim as I had a lot to eat. After, Emma helped me set up my phone. Then she finally asked the question I knew she was going to ask.

"Have you seen the stranger again?" She asked even though she was still busy with the phone. She attached much seriousness to it as her head was buried into the phone.

"His name is Nathan and yes." I responded rather quickly.

"Nice name. Where'd you meet?" She quickly changed the subject, wanting to know more about Nathan. Her reaction made me chuckle lightly.

"He came here two days ago," I stated simply.

"Did anything happen?" She averted her attention to me, waiting to hear the details.

"Nothing happened," I said and she rolled her brown eyes.

"Please I won't buy that lie," She said, unconvinced.

"I promise. Except he calling me 'beautiful', which I know I am so no big deal," Her mouth hung wide open and she gasped loudly.

"Sis, big deal! He's into you!" She said and pushed my shoulder playfully. I shook my head and sighed.

"He hasn't said he is, okay?" I tried to hide my flushed cheeks with my palms.

"Okay. But can you stop blushing? Since we started talking about him, you've been blushing," My cheeks heated even more after she had said this.

"I haven't." I defended weakly.

"I'm not blind." She said, heading to the bathroom. "I'm going to have a quick shower," She shouted, before she closed the door behind her.

As sleepy and full as I was, I lay down on the bed. I positioned the pillow underneath my head and finally submitted to sleep and feel in deep.

Hours later, I woke up suddenly. I rubbed my eyes and sat up on the bed. I looked closely at the wall clock and was shocked by the time it read

"It's 4pm?" I exclaimed loudly causing Emma to come rushing from the kitchen,

"Yes, why?" She was slightly worried and concerned.

"I have a lot of assignments to do and I haven't done any and..."

"Eve, you're too serious with everything. It's not your fault you slept. You just can't escape nature's call," She said, rolling her eyes and wiping her hands with a napkin she had before.

"I know but I have to get them done. They're all due tomorrow," I got up quickly to go. "I'll see you later." I was almost out when she called me back. She had the phone in her hand.

"Wait! Your phone," She handed it to me and I hugged her.

"Thank you. I love you!" I said and dashed out of the room, running towards my dorm.
