Genevieve's POV
I trailed behind the nurse who hurriedly walked before me as we were on our way to Nathan's room.

On our arrival, she knocked once and pushed the door open for me. I smiled at her for the kind gesture and walked into the room.

I was stunned by what was before me. Nathan sat up straight on the bed and his so called friend was beside him, kissing him and giggling annoyingly!

Why are you doing this to me, Nathan? Why?!

I stood for a moment to gaze properly at what was going on. Disgust started rising in me. I cleared my now arid throat to stop all of this.

"I'm sorry to interrupt." They both looked in my direction while the girl quickly stood to her feet.

"It's fine," She spoke.

You think it's fine?! You think all of this is fine?!

I smiled. "I'm here with her to check up on the patient." I pointed at the nurse. "Mind if we go ahead?"

"Oh, not at all." A sheepish smile spread across her face as Nathan just sat and stared at us.

The nurse quickly removed the bandage around his head and said the scar had healed. "You won't need this anymore," I said to him, referring to the bandage.

He simply nodded. "Is that all?" His words surprisingly shocked me.

Did he want to send us out just like that?

"Um, yes, that'll be all. Thank you." I walked out of the room, storming off angrily to my office.

-------------------------
The brightness of the numerous street lights hit the large glass window. The vibrancy in the city was excessive as it was getting darker.

I waited almost impatiently for the perfect hour of the night. My silver wrist watch read eleven thirty pm.

We're getting close.

I stood from the chair and walked over to a table at the far corner of the room. Upon picking up the syringe, I smiled enthusiastically.

"Which one will get the job done?" I questioned myself as I picked the glass bottles one after the other.

I won't kill her but I'll make her unconscious for quite some time. That should work.

After filling the syringe halfway with the dark blue liquid, I stared solely at it. "This is enough."

I stared at my watch again. Eleven forty-five pm. As every minute passed, excitement engulfed my being bit by bit.

The clock struck twelve thirty. I sighed quite heavily and with the syringe in my hand, I covered it with a white cloth.

I checked my surroundings once again before heading out of the door. Outside, I was met by utter silence.

Everyone must have gone to sleep.

The noise my heels made seemed very loud. I took them off, put them back in my office and trod barefooted to my location. Recovery room 1.

I constantly gazed behind me incase anyone followed me. I came to an abrupt stop at the door and opened it softly. My eyes landed on two people sound asleep.

They weren't too close to each other so this should be an easy job.

I could even do this in her sleep.

As soon as I reached the bedside, her eyes were wide opened.

Wasn't she asleep?

"What do you want?" She questioned as she sat on the bed.

"I'm here to do what I been waiting to do."

"And that is?" This time, she had risen from the bed and now, stood across me, face to face.

She eyed the cloth over my hand and looked back at me.

Tough much, huh?

I remained quiet and simply smiled. We both turned to Nathan's direction as he moved his body on the bed.

I took this opportunity to execute my plan. I threw the cloth off my hand and made the syringe ready.

Now or never.

As I was almost close to her arm, she turned back to me. She held my hand fiercely, fighting for the object.

"What do you think you're trying to do?" I fought back with my other hand, trying to cover her mouth. "Let go of it." She tried to whisper.

"I won't." My grip on the syringe loosened slowly. The object then fell to the ground. We both rushed for it but she was quick enough.

Oh no...

"You don't want to do this." I found myself pleading with her. I looked at the object in her right hand, wanting to grab it.

"Why do you want to hurt me? You barely even know me." She spoke as I still stared at the object then back at her.

"If you leave him alone, I won't hurt you. No one will get hurt."

She shook her head. I reached forward for her hand and grabbed it. "Leave me alone." She shook her hand violently but I held onto it tightly.

I felt a sharp pain on my left arm. My sight blurred out fast. The pain subsided after a few seconds and my knees grew very weak.

I stared at her left hand and realized she was pushing the syringe into my arm. My heart beats slowed down and all I saw were little black dots before my eyes finally shut.
