I drove smoothly through to the hospital. I alighted hastily from the car, running to the entrance of the enormous building. People stared at me concerning how I looked and also, my tear drenched face.
"Hi! N-Nathan Brown. An accident v-victim. Please," I spoke in between breaths. She stared at me from top to bottom, a look of pity and sympathy on her face. "Hello? Can you hear me? I said I was looking for..."
"I heard you the first time you spoke. By the way, who gave you information that he was here?" Such audacity! I started to infuriate more and more as she spoke in such a non-professional manner.
"A man, a certain man. He called me and said he found my friend's car crashed. He said my number was the first in his phone so he decided to call me," The nurse still stared at me while I spoke. "He said he had brought him here, so I came here. Please where is he? Please," I pleaded with the blonde- haired woman who sat leisurely at the reception.
"And who are you to him?"
"I'm his... his friend. Enough of the questions, miss. Can I see him, please?" She shook her head slightly before scribbling something on a sheet of paper.
"Well, he's being taken care of, so no one is allowed to see him now. You can wait on that seat, I'd let you know if something comes up." The direction in which she pointed, shifted my gaze to neatly arranged couches. I walked away slowly from her, to the set of neatly arranged chairs.
'Incompetence at its best,' I said to myself before taking a seat. I rested both hands on my knees, my head laying anxiously on them. After a moment, I stood to my feet, pacing up and down the room, in anticipation for someone to come up to me.

I sat at the edge of the soft chair, anxiety building up rapidly in me. My head was buried in my palms as my fingers tugged my hair faintly. A migraine ignited in my head, causing it to ache immensely. I shut my eyes slowly, my fingers still in my hair.
My head shot up very quickly when the front door was pushed open. In walked a brown haired lady who was neatly dressed in a white long sleeved shirt, a black skirt and a pair of exquisite heels. She walked up to the nurse at the reception and mumbled a few words to her.
She smiled and casually walked away quickly but steadily, to a room further down the corridor. I groaned almost loudly before walking back up to the nurse.
"Hi, have you heard anything?" I needed to know what was going on. I've been sitting on that couch for almost an hour and no one has said anything to me. I was starting to get fed up.
"Not yet, actually. Did you notice the lady who just walked in?" I nodded slowly in response. "She's the doctor who is taking care of the patient now that he's in the recovery room. I guess we'll have to wait to see what she says," She spoke fluently after to which I nodded again.
"So meaning he's alright?" I asked with a little excitement in my voice.
"If he's in the recovery room at the moment, it could be that he's fine," She smiled sweetly and I wondered why she wasn't all so nice before. I simply stared at her before returning to my seat.

A few minutes later, the doctor came out from the room, now with a white lab coat over her attire. In her hand was a board on which she wrote with a pen while walking towards the nurse.
They both exchanged indistinct words after which the doctor trod back to the room. I focused solely on them, waiting for the nurse to call me. I fit my keys and phone into my pocket, still sitting.
"Excuse me," The nurse spoke pointing at me. I quickly stood and walked briskly to her desk. "The doctor said he's recovering but he's still under the effect of the anaesthesia. You can go in and see him now but please try not to wake him," I nodded and smiled as happiness filled me.
All that matters now is that he's fine.
"Are you going to go in with me or...?" I asked a tad bit unsure.
"Sure, I'll show you to the door." With that, she hopped off her chair and walked in front of me, gesturing me to follow. I obliged as we headed to the supposed room where Nathan was.
