EVE'S POV

I was greeted by a terrible headache in the morning. I yawned and looked around. It was a beautiful environment, painted in neutral colours. Silky curtains draped skilfully from top to bottom. I rubbed my eyes and was struck by a question.

'Where am I?' As I continued to look around, I noticed a man sound asleep in a sofa. I was immediately frightened as many thoughts run through my head.

'What am I doing here? How did I get here? Who is this man? Did he sleep with me? Should I wake him up now?'

I decided against waking him up since he was peacefully asleep. I got up and tried to be as quiet as possible, to look out the window. I winced in pain as I hit my leg on a small wooden table. The man awoke and rubbed his eyes. He noticed I had hit my leg on the table and immediately came close to me with worry drawn on his face.

"Sorry, are you okay?" He asked, kneeling on one knee beside me as I sat on the bed.

"I think I am. I just hit my leg, that's all." I said.

"Are you sure? I could go downstairs to get the first aid box." He got up, but I stopped him by holding unto his firm shoulder.

"I'm fine. This is nothing. Thank you." I said and smiled sheepishly.

"Okay..." He said, not believing me. He sat beside me on the bed. I moved away from him which made him chuckle. "I'm not going to hurt you. Well, I suppose you don't remember what happened last night. I think I should remind you." He said and looked away from me.

'He didn't take advantage of me, did he?' I tried very hard to remember but I couldn't. I fidgeted with my fingers till he spoke up again.

"No, I didn't sleep with you. Just to answer your question." I think I thought out loud. I smiled and he did as well.

"You were a bit...well not a bit, you were drunk last night and almost stripped naked in front of everyone. I saved you and didn't know where you lived or anything so I brought you up here." He said and I looked at anything but him, trying to hide my embarrassment. My cheeks were hot and my stomach turned.

"Thank you. I came to the party with my best friend..." Then I remember Emma. Where is she? I need to call her. "Where's my purse?" I asked the man.

"Is everything all right?" He responded, worried. I looked around crazily, searching for my purse.

"I need to call my best friend. I came to the party with her but we lost contact. Can you please give me my purse?" I continued looking around for my purse.

"You had no purse with you last night. Someone must have taken it. You can call her with my phone if you want." He offered his phone and I quickly took it. With my headache, I struggled to remember Emma's number but I eventually did. It rang severally but ended in her voicemail.

"She's not answering her phone. I need to get back to the campus. Can you please take me to Silver Valley University campus?" I asked, taking my shoes.

"Sure, let's go." I didn't have time to wear my shoes. I quickly grabbed them as we headed downstairs, then outside the huge house, then into a black car.
