NATHAN'S POV

Days have passed by and the hours have been engaged with the same thing; painting, painting, painting. The piece was soon to be finished. It just needed a few touches here and there.

It was a quiet Saturday night. The city which was usually wild had been rather placid tonight. Well, it wasn't too late so I was certain it wasn't going to be this calm for long.

The transparent cloth draped smoothly over the canvas. I put away the tools neatly into the small toolbox and pushed it under the short, wooden table in my work area. I washed my hands thoroughly and wiped it dry.

I had the rest of the night to myself. I assembled on the small couch, exhaling deeply at the same time. After quickly sending a message to Eve, I anxiously awaited her reply which came by shortly after. I smiled at her response and hastily rose from the couch for a quick shower.

As I dried my dripping wet hair with one hand, I concurrently picked an outfit with the other. I threw on my muscular body, a tight t-shirt and a pair of black jeans. Once I had worn my shoes, I grabbed my car keys and phone, not forgetting my wallet.

I sprayed a subtle woody scented cologne all over my body and brushed through my hair lightly. Heading to the front door, I took its keys from the small couch. After locking the plank of wood that stood before me, I walked through the night to my car.

As I set for the road, I increased the volume of the music from the small radio. I sang word to word, the lyrics of each of the 80's rock songs that were being played.

I had slight difficulties parking as every spot was occupied. People were busily going up and down, occupied with one thing or the other. I drove slowly past the rowdy folks and parked in one lucky space, at the far end.

I then picked up my phone and texted Eve.

"I'm down here. Parked further down the campus." My fingers confidently hit the 'send' button. I put my phone away and rested my head against the uncomfortable head rest. I shut my eyes and thought about practically anything.

As the melodies still sounded in my ears sweetly, I drew in my mind, my schedule for the week ahead. I fruitfully imagined them as vividly as possible, hoping to be very productive in the coming week.

In the middle of doing so, I was distracted by a light tap on the window. My eyes adjusted to the light after being in total darkness for a while. I unlocked the door swiftly as Eve sat comfortably in the passenger's seat.

"You were deep in your thoughts, huh?" She asked out of breath and rolled down her window all the way to the bottom.

"I was," I replied, looking at her as she allows the coolness of the air to refresh her. She turned to look at me and laughed, causing me to do too.

"I literally had to walk briskly through the crowd of people. Allow me to catch my unsteady breath," She pants slightly while I still look at her. "What?!" She loudly exclaimed and I couldn't control my laughter.

I broke into unending laughter and she crosses her arms and pouts. "You had to pass through this small crowd and look at you, tired and all."

She remained silent and looked out of the window, still with crossed arms. "Eve..." I held her shoulder as I spoke. "I'm sorry if I made you mad. I just find it quite cute. You're cute," I rubbed her shoulders lightly, hoping for a change in mood.

She turned her head slowly to my direction. She uncrossed her hands and rested them on her noticeable thighs. A slight smile formed in the corner of her lips. The moonlight illuminated against her radiant skin as she fully smiled.

She faintly smacked my chest. I feigned pain as I placed my hand on the area she had hit. "Oh, that hurt so much!" I dramatically whined and we laughed as she shook her head. "Have you eaten?"

"I ate last night's pizza like an hour ago. I'm not really hungry," I nodded and turned the ignition on. "Where are we going?" She asked as I reversed the vehicle carefully.

"We're going to get food," I set the gear to drive and steered my way easily through the people and sped out of the large gates of Silver Valley University campus.
