EMMA'S POV

'You can't tell Eve! You can't tell Eve!' Those were the only thoughts that run through my mind till Josh came back from lectures.

"What are you up to, Em?" He asked as he settled down.

"I'm so excited! Eve has been talking to this guy, and apparently he wants to surprise her with a party. Her birthday is in a week!" I said, agitated and all.

"That's good. Eve is really lucky to have you as her best friend. You're an amazing person Emma and that's why I love you." Josh said, holding my hands.

Even though we've been together for quite a while, every time Josh speaks like this, I get butterflies in my stomach like it's the first time we've met.

"I love you too Josh. Very much." He leaned in and planted a kiss on my lips. We're all happy and it's all I ever wanted.

EVE'S POV

I woke up in a rather comfortable bed. I felt so safe that I didn't want to move. I lay for a while and got up to look around. It was a simple yet intriguing space. I studied the environment and later decided to see where Nathan was.

I made my way out the bedroom and found Nathan working on something.

"What are you doing?" He was startled and it made me laugh.

"I wasn't scared, I promise." He said and smiled and I was still laughing.

"You should have seen your face!" I said and chuckled. "So what are you doing?" I asked him again.

He put our paintings near the opened window. "I just applied some finish and waiting for it to dry."

"Okay. Your bed is comfortable." I said lamely and out of the blue.

He noticed my awkwardness. "I agree. Maybe you could stay in and I'd drop you off tomorrow? It's okay if you don't want..."

"That's okay with me." I smiled. Something I've been doing of late. "Where's the bathroom?" I asked with urgency in my voice.

"Straight. First door on your left." I sped off quickly to find it.

NATHAN'S POV

As Eve went to the bathroom, I made vivid pictures of the party I'm going to plan for her in my mind. I didn't want it to be too grand. Maybe her friend could take care of who to invite and all that.

"What are you thinking about?" Eve asked as she sat beside me on the couch.

"Uh... nothing. Are you hungry?" I asked her, trying to change the topic.

"I am, a little." She said. "Are you?"

I was a little too. "Just a little too. We could go grab something to eat?" I suggested.

We went and got some Chinese food as that was what we finally settled on. We came home and ate and got ready for bed.

"Have a shower and I'll look for something for you to wear." I told her. She headed to the bathroom and I looked for a shirt and some shorts she'll be comfortable in.

I insisted on letting her have the bed while I sleep on the couch in my room, but she refused. We finally agreed to sleep in together. We scrolled through channels and talked till we both fell asleep.
