NATHAN'S POV

"Make yourself at home," She sat comfortably but slowly on the couch, still looking around. "Are you a good artist yourself?" I asked her and she chuckled.

"Well, I'm not as good as this," She pointed to my works. "But I'm sure I could draw to save my life," We both laughed at her comment.

"Why don't we see then? Let's have a little competition to see who the better artist is." She looked at me as if to say 'you're mocking me, aren't you?'

"How can I even compete with you? You're obviously way better than I am. I'm going to lose," She stood up and started walking around again.

I tried to persuade her. "I promise you, you're going to win."

"I'll do this even though I know I'm going to lose." We made my way to my work area in the corner and gathered all we needed. I helped her in setting up the small sized canvas before handing over her tools to her.

She sat on the wooden bench, facing the blank canvas. "Here you go. There's a set time to this, though." She was way calm than I thought she'd be, after I spoke.

"Well, I could use an hour," She shrugged and I smiled slightly. The timer started and we both got to work.

------------------------------------

She still didn't want me to see hers claiming it wasn't good. "It doesn't matter. I'm sure it's better than mine. Let me see!" I tried to steal a glance at it but she wouldn't allow me to.

I gave her some time to show it to me on her own. "Fine," She said and showed me her work. It was a beautiful piece of a girl holding a fresh heart, looking back at the broken one. "I told you it wasn't good. Let's see yours," She said, trying to take the attention off hers.

"Before we do, this depicts something. What is it?" I said, pointing to her painting.

She shrugged. "I was going through a lot, but now everything seems to have changed and I'm happy and it's like I have a new heart. That's it." I studied her closely as she spoke. "Let's see yours now," She said, changing the subject.

I painted a picture of her beautiful blue eyes and her perfect smile because those are one of the things I can never forget about her; never.

"Those are some pretty eyes," She admired the picture as she run her fingers over the paper.

"Those are your pretty eyes."

"This is beautiful! Thank you and I'm keeping it!" She snatched it from me and hugged it to her chest, with both hands. She so adorable...

"Then I get to keep yours," I said simply which made her smile. "Want some snacks?" I asked her, as I was hungry.

"I'm not really hungry but okay," I grabbed a few snacks from the kitchen and made them available for us to eat. We ate and talked about our next activity.
