Chapter 3

Author's note:

Yes, I know it has been a long time since I updated this story.

  Alix's POV:

I arrived at my new house and smiled. It looked nicer than the pictures gave it credit for sure.  I entered, placing the chocolate bars on the kitchen counter.  Then, I brought in the rest of my stuff from the car.  I would need to find more things to make it cozy, but that could wait another day.

I went to the bathroom, showered, and changed clothes. There, that was much better. I heard the bell ring. Strange, I did not expect anyone, especially not since I just moved in and all.

"Coming," I said as I walked towards the front door. I opened it to see the last person I expected to see standing there. It looked like he was not alone either.

"It is you, what brings you here?" I asked.

"You? You are the new neighbor?" The boy I had seen earlier at the small shop in town said.

"You two know each other, what a small world." The boy's roommate said.

"Yes, we met briefly earlier," I remarked. "Yes, unfortunately for her," The other boy scowled.

"That is a fine way to welcome me," I shouted.

"Hey, you two, there is no need to argue," The roommate stated.

"Keep out of it, Kevin," He said. "Hey, it is not Kevin's fault you hate me," I said.

"Hate you, ha, more like despise you," He said.

"Kim, that is not nice," Kevin said. "Kim that is your name?  Wow, not only are you mean, but you have a girly name, " I blurted out.

"Oh, and what is your name then, smart aleck?" Kim scowled.  "My name is Alexandria, but I go by Alix," I explained.  "The name suits you because you are so Tom boyish," Kim replied.

"Thank you, I think," I answered. "Anyway, Kevin and Kim, since we are neighbors, perhaps you could show me the rope."

"I would be glad too," Kevin said.

"What does that even mean?"  Kim looked annoyed. It is not like we are together. Maybe, I could use that to my advantage.

"Good, See you tomorrow at 2 pm sharp, Kevin and Kim. Oh, and don't be late, boys," I said, blowing a few kisses in Kevin's direction.

Kim's face turned red with rage. Kevin only shook his head. "Yeah, yeah, see you then, Alix."

When the boys left, I smirked as I shut the door. I would remember the enraged look in Kim's eyes for years to come. I did not know it then, but I would eventually, that life had a strange way of putting people together.  Had I known I would not have tried so hard to avoid Kim.
