Chapter 29

The next day, they have the rehearsal dinner, at lunchtime, doing everything, Nicole's way. Loren just goes along with it, not knowing what to say. She knew it didn't matter to her daughter, she wasn't changing anything. All their family would be there today, Loren didn't want a fuss with any of it. She always wanted everything to look perfect. She had the doubting husband, and two lovely children, that we're now both married and settled down. She would never admit the truth, that her husband was an asshole and she hated the people her children were married to.

Even today Thomas Sr. would shut up. He saw now point. She was marrying this loser anyway. You might as well enjoy the day. He was happy to see his brother and other family members. So he would make the best out of it.

They all head to the beach area where they are planning on getting married. They work out the steps, that will be taken tomorrow. Step by step. Nicole is happy and very much in love with Robert. Alana just smiles at her, wishing she felt the same, wishing she had the same. She wanted so much more out of her relationship, there was nothing there anymore, it was like beating a dead horse. That just saddened Alana. She never thought they would get this far, it was more than just differences in sex. Their whole relationship wasn't working anymore. This just wasn't the time to think about it.

The day goes on, without any problems, everyone enjoying lunch at the outdoor restaurant, where the reception will take place. The views of the beach and ocean were gorgeous, the food was great. They couldn't ask for more.

Thomas sits with his father at the rehearsal lunch, while Alana talks to Nicole, about tonight.

"Your wife seems in good spirits." Sr. says.

"Yea, you would never guess what she did now." Thomas states.

"What did she do?" Sr. asks.

"She freaking got two beds in our room!" Thomas grunts.

"Aww, I thought you two would have made up on this trip. Tommy is with the other kids, it gives you time to get together, make things right." Sr. Answers.

"I thought the same till I saw the beds. She said she has no intention of sleeping with me, ever again." Thomas comments.

"Damn son, you really did piss her off. Well, if she is so into sex, I am sure you can butter her up and get her back into your bed. You have to be smooth son. Open up a little, show her you want her." Sr. Says.

"I don't think she is going to let me. She said she is over what that was, and got my message loud and clear." Thomas replies.

"You were the one to flip out that night. This is your own fault. Maybe it's good then, she will be over it, and you both move on from it. You say you don't see her in that way." Sr. states.

"I am scared that because I don't someone else will," Thomas admits.

"Aww, I get that. She is a lot younger than you. If that is the case you're going to either, fix this, or if it happens, pretend it isn't and let her get it out of her system. You don't seem to want to give her what she wants, that person will. Your still a winner." Sr. Responds.

"Are you freaking kidding me? Pretend she isn't. I don't want my wife screwing someone else! She is my wife!" Thomas says passionately.

"That's the first time, I have seen some passion in you son. You still love her, then you need to get over whatever it is, that is stopping you from giving her what she wants. Do you think she would actually cheat on you?" Sr. asks.

"I'm not sure, she has changed. I see she is growing up, rebelling against me. I do know I don't want our marriage to end." Thomas confesses.

"Than work on it. You got her to fall for you once, do it again." Sr. says.

"I guess we will see. That was a long time ago. I don't even think she wants to make anything work now. The way she talked last night, she is still very pissed at me. I don't think she even sees me sexually anymore after what I said. She hasn't spent two minutes with me, here. She is with Nicole, and before she was always asking to spend time with me. I think I may have fucked up." Thomas replies.

"We know you fucked up, now you need to turn it around. It's been a while, she should have had time to cool down, it just seems she thought about it more and turned away from you. You can just let it go, and see what happens also. Maybe she will just give up the sex or whatever she is wanting and settle back down into the marriage you have. This isn't anything new Thomas, you have also been dead in that department and never around. She delt with it before." Sr. explains.

"I am hoping that it does go back to that. I know she has taken even more hours at the vet. She doesn't even try to hide it from me anymore or care." Thomas answers.

"Maybe that is good in away. It gives her something to do. It's better than finding someone else. Give her some freedom, I think that is what this is all about, more than anything else." Sr. states.

"I thought the same thing. Its why I haven't said anything about it. Plus I don't want to fight. We seem to fight over everything. We don't have a conversation without a fight lately it's crazy." Thomas comments.

"It's a rough patch, it should be fine." Sr. responds.
