Chapter six

Chapter 6

The next morning comes before you know it, only having a few hour's sleep. Alana gets up and gets breakfast for her son, letting him know that the computer was fixed.

"Did you get your computer?" Alana asks.

"Yes mom, how did you do it?" Tommy asks.

"I met someone online in a tech group, he helped me with it last night," Alana replies.

"Oh, so that is what you were busy doing on your phone last night?" Tommy asks.

"Yes, I even printed out your report for you." Alana answers.

"Yes, I got it, thank you."

Tommy leaves for school and Alana goes off to work, having a full day, just not telling Thomas, that she does that here and there. When he went away, she would work the full hours at the Vet, feeling her best there helping the animals.

When she gets to work Judy is there bright and early tending to her morning rounds.

"Hey girl, did you get someone to help you with the computer last night?" Judy asks.

"Yes, I did. I met a computer tech named Luke. He was so sweet and very helpful." Alana says.

"Great, I told you that group was good." Judy answers.

"I saw that group was for Philly members, so that means he lives here as well?" Alana asks.

"Yes, I joined our own state so that the person could be close, if we needed them to actually come out and look at the computers," Judy admits.

"Oh, so he would actually be able to come here?" Alana reasks.

"Yes, do you need him to?" Judy asks.

"No, I am sure everything is fine, I just wanted to make sure in case," Alana responds.

"Ok, what's up? Why do I get the feeling you and this Luke guy were talking a bit more than computers?" Judy replies.

"We had a great conversation, one that lasts eleven hours," Alana admits.

"Wait, What? Eleven hours? Who the hell talks that long? What were you talking about?" Judy asks.

"We talked about our relationships. How they lack in certain places. He is married also, his wife works a lot leaving him home." Alana comments.

"You two have a lot in common already. Was this a one-time thing?" Judy asks.

"We said we would talk tonight, I guess we will see. Am I doing the right thing? Should I stop?" Alana asks.

"Your only talking, why stop? Are you enjoying it?" Judy says.

"Yes very much, I haven't enjoyed anything like that in a long time. It was so refreshing." Alana admits.

"Than keep going, have a little fun. How old is he?" Judy asks.

"He is thirty-five like me." She answers.

"Great, someone young. Any kids?" Judy says.

"No just a wife of ten years."

"Ok, that's good. Keep me updated on how this goes. Is he cute?"

"Very!! He is very attractive, for some reason I couldn't stop looking at his fingers, and arms." Alana laughs.

"You know what they say about long fingers." Judy jokes.

"You are something else, you know that?" Alana giggles.

"Yep and you love me for it. Plus I was only stating the truth." Judy adds.

They both laugh and head back to work, Alana stays all day till six o'clock. When the time rolls around, she heads home checking her phone but no messages.

She gets in going straight to the kitchen to make something for her and her son to eat. She just makes a quick pasta dish, that is easy and fast.

They both sit down, eating their dinner and discussing their day. When dinner is over, Tommy heads into the living room to play his video games. Alana starts to clean up when she hears a ding from her phone. She quickly goes to take a look, seeing its a message from Luke.

"Good Evening, I hope your day went well," Luke says.

"It did, and how about yours?" Alana answers with a smile. Feeling excited and happy to hear from him.

"It was pretty good and long. I hope you got some rest?" Luke asks.

"I did, not a lot though. I thought about a lot that you said. It just made me feel I was missing out on even more than I thought." Alana admits.

"Yea, I thought a lot about it also. Your husband baffles me to be honest. I don't want to sound out of place, but do you think your husband has someone else?" Luke asks.

"I don't believe so, I can't say for sure though. What about your wife?" Alana returns.

"No, she isn't the type. She just is busy with work. It's what would make me feel bad, to ever have one myself. I don't want to hurt her." Luke admits.

"I can understand that, but if you're not happy. Why suffer?" Alana says.

"That's true. Its something I come and go on. It's a big step, to take." Luke admits.

"Yea talking about it is nothing doing it is a whole new thing." Alana comments.

"So many don't think, they just act and it gets them into a lot of trouble," Luke responds.

"Yea so I guess we will just have each other to tell our sorrows to and deal," Alana replies.

"That sounds like a good idea." Luke states.

The conversation goes on for another eleven hours talking about all kinds of things and getting to know each other. Liking each other even more.

They both feel a connection with each other, listening to the other, and their problems. Also at the same time, not staying on the same subject, now talking about everything from movies, music to food. It was non stop, and growing and it's only been two days.
