Chapter 187

Thomas just sits in the car, thinking what all this could mean to him and Alana's future. How everything they have can change again in an instant. Just would she let it? He does see that she is open with him, going straight to him and telling him, it was Luke.

He just knows that her feelings for Luke never truly died. That all these years she just did what she needed to do, to raise their kids. And mostly to keep Lucia safe.

Thomas remembers that Lucia was going to dinner as well. He just thinks they met each other, Luke would truly know it was his daughter just by the sight of her. Just another thing that burns Thomas, she looks just like him. Would he lose the daughter he kept safe and as his own for the last twenty years?

Then he just sits there and feels I can't do this anymore. "I lived in fear for the last twenty years that this would happen. He would realize how much he loved her and come back for her. If she goes, it's her choice. I can't fight anymore."

Thomas gets out of the car and goes into the house taking a seat on the sofa waiting for Alana or even Lucia to get home. His mind wanders everywhere while he sits there. "What did they feel when they saw each other? Did they both still care?"

He also sat there thinking about Whitney she was just as innocent in this as he was. Never really knowing what was going on, under her nose, now right in her very own home. Thomas just thinks of all the parents in the world it had to be them. His son was just as taken in with Billie, as Alana was with Luke all those years ago. "What do these people have?" Thomas sneers. What do they do now? Thomas knew this wasn't going to go away, Tom really cared for Billie, were they going to be stuck with seeing each other now often? So many things just rattle his brain.

As he sits there, Lucia walks in with a huge smile on her face. Thomas just looks at her, seeing her all happy.

"Hey, baby girl what's up? How was the dinner?" Thomas asks.

"Hi, daddy. The dinner was great, they are so nice. Luke is awesome!! We had so many things in common, it's like I knew him forever to be honest." Lucia says rambling on as she sits next to Thomas. "How is granddad and Aunt Nicole?" She adds.

Thomas takes everything in, trying to process it all, and stay as calm as he can.

"They are both fine. Tell me more about this Luke Character? Giving you a job?" Thomas states.

"Yes, I told him how much I loved computers and wanted to be in that field that I am studying for it as well. He runs his own business and offered me a job. I start Monday. He said there was a lot he could teach me. I am so looking forward to this dad. It's the break I've been looking for." Lucia answers.

"You really don't need to go to work there right now, you should focus on your schooling. You have tests and stuff to go through, you don't need to work." Thomas states.

All Thomas thinks about is them spending time together, how she said he was awesome. Just another one thinking the same thing. His heart just pounds.

"I can handle it, dad. I will learn more from him, than from the school. Hands-on is always better. I just can't believe how cool he is. He gave me a lot of attention, I see why Billie always says her dad is great." Lucia admits.

"Where was your mother during this? Did she talk to Luke as well?" Thomas asks.

"She was at the table eating, she spent most of the night talking to Whitney. She really didn't interact with Luke at all. I was the one talking to him. Mom seems a little distracted if I am honest. I guess something that had to do with work was on her mind. She was very nice to Whitney and they seemed to get along well." Lucia replies. "I can't wait for you to meet him, It really sucked you had to leave. I am glad Aunt Nicole is ok. Mom went to check on granddad, before coming home. Did you tell her something on the phone dad?" Lucia adds

"No babe. I didn't why? I'm not sure when I will get to meet him, his wife was very nice." Thomas responds. Doing his best to keep all his composer.

"She seems really weird when she left. She seems happy to leave and like really something was on her mind. I didn't get to ask as she got in the car with Tom and Billie. I am sure she will be home soon. I am going to go study and get ready for bed." Lucia answers.

"Ok, I love you, I want you to always remember that. You are always my little girl, nothing could ever change that." Thomas says feeling so many emotions.

"I know that already dad. I love you too." She responds.

Thomas watches as she goes upstairs, knowing exactly why Luke hired her. It was to get to know her, He knew it was his daughter. He wanted to be part of her life now, where would this lead?

He also thinks about Alana, how Lucia said she was distracted. He knows this rattled her, stirred up all the feelings that were once there, because it has done the same for him.
