Chapter 177

A few months go by, and Billie only stops in to pick Tom up. She hasn't really taken them up on working there as of yet. Alana sees how happy they are together, and how they interact with each other. That age at the moment just seems like a number. She sees what her son is falling in love with. How fun, sweet and caring Billie is. It just makes Alana happy to see her son with someone so good for him.

"Mom, Can I talk to you?" Tom asks.

"Of course, what is the matter?" Alana says.

"Nothing really, Billie and I would like you Dad and Lucia to come to her parent's house for dinner this weekend. I think it's about time you all met." Tom replies.

"I think that's a great idea. Will you be driving us? Or just leaving us the address?" Alana asks.

"We will drive you there, you two don't have to worry about anything. Her parents live 45 minutes away but it will give dad a chance to get to know Billie."Tom states.

"Ok, that sounds good I will let your father know. I am sure he will be excited." Alana comments.

"Yea I bet," Tom says.

Alana just smiles and heads out of the vet office to head home for the night. She knows that Thomas will be happy with this, as it seems like things are getting serious.

Alana walks in the door to Thomas sitting on the sofa checking his email on his phone.

"Hey, babe, welcome home. How was your day? Thomas asks.

"It was good, our son said that this weekend we are invited to his girlfriend's parents' house. They want us all to meet. I think it's pretty serious.

"Ok, sounds good. Where are we going?" Thomas asks.

"Good question, he said he will be driving us, and it's 45 minutes away. He didn't give much else. You know him with details, we don't get very much of those." Alana reveals.

"Yea, I know. He hasn't told you how old she is, has he? It's like shit is just a secret. It kind of sucks but whatever. He is so sure she is it and he doesn't care about anything else." Thomas admits.

"No, he doesn't tell me much. I think he feels the less he says the better. He doesn't want anyone to get in his way. I am guessing her parents know how old he is and are not saying anything about it, so why should we?" Alana states.

"Would you if our daughter took home a doctor who owns his own practice? Who could offer our daughter stability, money, and even her own practice?" Thomas announces.

"Thomas! Do you think that is the only reason she wants him?" Alana hisses.

"Think about it, it would make a lot of sense." Thomas answers.

"Please don't let our son know this is how you feel or this is your thoughts. He is happy, let him be. I would hope that isn't what she is after, anyway it's my practice too so she can't just move on in. She hasn't even come work for us. I am not going to think any negative about her until I see something." Alana comments.

"I'm not going to say anything to him. I am going to look around and take note of things while we are there. What kind of parents does she have? What do they do for a living? Tom hasn't told us shit so it just leaves me guessing and wondering. I know it's your practice too, it's what I am glad about. She can't just come in and take over, but I worry. I see how smitten our son is, she has this way over him, he wouldn't be able to see clearly." Thomas states.

"I think you worry too much and need to let go. It's nice to be in love and to feel deeply for the person." Alana answers.

"Yea yea" Thomas replies.

Thomas knows his son is in as deep as Alana was with Luke and it scares him. He knows with that kind of love, he can get walked on, and used. He doesn't want that for his son. It brings up memories he doesn't want to relive as well. It's like watching Alana all over again. Then Like Mother like son.
