Chapter 102

A few weeks go by and Alana loves school doing her best to get her work done on time and do her studies. It helped out a lot that she already worked in a vet office and has done and seen most of this already.

In the last few weeks, she hasn't paid much mind to Thomas at all, being mainly on her own. She would go to work, then home, pick up something to eat and go straight to online school. She has been very busy and has even felt better about herself. Not dwelling on Luke as she was. She was finally taking the time to be herself and doing what she wanted.

Thomas keeps his mouth closed not sure really what to do or say. There were times he would knock on her door while she was studying and bring her some food, and to check on her. Trying to be nice and get her to talk to him. He does see that Luke isn't around still and now after this time feels he isn't coming back. If he was to change his mind, he would have already. Its already been two months apart. He sees that she is in better spirits and for that he is grateful.

Alana still doesn't feel herself but just pushes it back figuring she doesn't take good care of herself lately always being on the go. She has been eating a lot of fast food and staying up late studying. Just sometimes she finds herself drifting while she is at work.

"Girl, how late did you stay up last night? Your falling asleep." Judy laughs.

"I was up till three. I use to be able to do this before now it's just taking a toll on me. I just don't feel right." Alana admits.

"Hasn't it been at least the last month you haven't felt right?" Judy asks.

"Yeah about that. I feel queasy and Tired a lot." Alana says.

"Have you gotten your period?" Judy asks bluntly.

"I haven't even thought about it, I been so preoccupied," Alana says. "Thinking about it, I don't remember getting it this month," Alana adds.

"You need to take a test. Its been two months since you been with Luke. You need to know and fast." Judy suggests.

"I don't think I am. We used condoms." Alana says.

"All the time? You two were like jackrabbits. Was there any time he didn't use one? Or you don't remember him using one?" Judy asks.

"God, let me think. At the hotel we did, in the car we did. OH god, when we did it here I don't remember him using anything. We were so in the moment." Alana says with panic.

"Then you need to go to the store and get one. Come back here and take the friggen thing." Judy states.

Alana's mind freezes with fear. Could this be? How does she explain this? How does she fix this?'

"Just don't stand there, go get a test," Judy says seeing that Alana is panicking inside. "Fuck I will go get one, you stay here and mind the fort," Judy adds.

Alana just nods, knowing this would be a disaster. They were so careful, accept for that one time, passion just took over and no one thought about anything but the want they felt for each other. Just now she would be the one to have to deal with the consequences of it. She just takes a seat at her desk and waits for Judy to return with the test.

Judy takes no time, returning with a few tests just in case. She hands Alana the bag and tells her to go pee.

Alana goes into the bathroom, shaking its been years since she took one of these and it was a whole different circumstance when she did the first time. She sits on the toilet and pees on the stick, praying it's not pregnant.

"Well, what does it say?" Judy asks.

"I don't know. I haven't looked. You look." Alana says.

Judy reads the box and then looks at the test. She then looks at Alana standing there in front of her, beside herself.

"What is it?" Alana asks.

"I guess...Congratulations are in order?" Judy says.

"No, it can't be?" Alana says taking a look at the test herself." Oh god, its two lines." She cries.

"What am I going to do? How do I explain this? I haven't slept with Thomas in over a year." Alana states.

"Then I suggest you go visit his bedroom and soon. Look, it doesn't look like Luke wants any part of this anymore. You can't even get a hold of him before knowing you're pregnant. This isn't going to change anything. Plus I don't think you would want him to only want you because you're pregnant. Thomas is a lot of things but he is stable, he will take care of the child and you without any questions. The child will have a normal life."Judy says.

Alana just listens to what Judy has to say and the thought of being with Thomas again makes her even sicker to her stomach. At the same time, she knows everything that Judy is saying is true. This child would have a normal life with Thomas. He is stable and knows what he wants. Where Luke couldn't decide what he wanted. It wasn't just her anymore, it was an innocent child in the mix.

"I don't know if I can do this," Alana says.

"Yes you can, you are strong. The child will have a name, a father, Thomas wants to make this work, he will be delighted that he knocked you up. He asked that of you months ago. So you sleep with him, and opps...he happens all the time. Being with him one more time won't kill you."Judy answers.

"How many lies can I pack onto each other? The affair was one thing, now letting him pay for a child that isn't his?" Alana responds.

"You did it now if he finds out it's not his, he will make a scandal of it, this child will be branded a bastard. You can't give it Luke's last name he doesn't even know about it, and he has a wife. That he loves so much. Its a mess for sure, but you can fix most of it, and yes with more lies. A lie you will have to keep till you die. A lie that will let you and this child have a normal life. Or you can just leave Thomas now, and be on your own. The child will not have a father and still your name cause Thomas will know it's not his, and he will fight you for Tommy the house and everything else, making you out to be the worse. You know how he is." Judy replies.

"I do, I need time to think." Alana answers.

"Don't take that long. Don't let him know something is up, its already two months." Judy suggests.

Alana just nods knowing this is a bigger mess than she ever thought it would be.
