Chapter 28 (Part 3) - A Certain Introduction To Self Worth
A young little girl curled herself up, while holding a tight grip to her bento. She slightly pulled the flippers of her dolphin prop. Then tightly pressed the dolphin hat's long flips that reach past her ears.
She anxiously held onto this blue dolphin hat that was darker than her light blue hair to prevent anxiety attacks.
Her green eyes stare blankly at the children's playground feeling giddy with her surroundings.
While her heart beats rapidly, she felt like she was underwater trying to desperately swim to the top. Desperately trying to reach the dolphins from above.
That was until a hand reached out for her sweaty palm. The hand went from her sweaty palm to her back, wrapping a comfort to the young orphan.
"Hey!" The feminine voice sounded muffled. "Take it easy... Take A deep breath... Concentrate on my voice... It'll soon be over... I'll take it from here."
The voice from the korean woman became clear. Teary green eyes Ayumi Sora blushing by the sudden hugging Kyung Mi.
"Damn kid you have anxiety attacks? You're gonna be really troublesome aren't ya." Kyung Mi calmly says with an unprofessional follow up to the procedure of helping a child deal with an anxiety attack.
"Eh... sorry." Ayumi apologies, wiping the sweat from her forehead with her left hand.
Kyung Mi helped Ayumi up but couldn't stop herself from making a disgusted expression from the feeling of Ayumi's wet right palm locked to her own grip.
♦
"We'll be at district 13 shortly." Kyung Mi in hindsight lied.
After helping Ayumi fight her anxiety attack for an hour. Kyung Mi was now driving her Honda Fit once more.
Cautiously driving below the speed limit Kyung Mi studied Ayumi from her rear view mirror. She had no idea why the little dolphin hat girl was having an anxiety attack or how she stopped it in the first place. All she knew was that it was best to prevent another one from occurring for the time being.
"Damn... At this rate those troublesome delinquents will make it back before me. The phenomenal forces of karma couldn't have been any more cruel."
Ayumi giggles but immediately bowed and openly apologized to the glaring Korean woman. "Sorry! Sorry! Sorry!! That's three sorry's for three troublesome burdens."
"Hmm?"
"For laughing at someone believing non-scientific phenomena such as karma, for drenching you in pours of liquids, and for burdening troubles to your schedule!" Ayumi said, locking her fingers together bowing once more. "I was told adults were looking for a well mannered personality! So I can make up for what I lacked with good alternative humble kindness." Ayumi's keigo manner honorifics surprise and impress Kyung Mi.
"Eh? Tch?! Hahaha! I think you'll do just fine! You'll come and go in no time at all!" Kyung Mi giggles and sighs. "Finally I got myself an obedient, polite, proper youngster." Kyung Mi eyes waterfall leaking like a faucet left Ayumi puzzle.
Despite the sudden bewilderment confusion, Ayumi Sora knew one thing. This korean sensei took the bait, and if that worked effectively she could use her training to get adopted in no time. Ayumi thought with an inner imaginary internal grin.
"Excellent!! That was a close call... I thought it might possibly be unsuccessful after having one of my unfortunate sudden attacks, but she believes in me nonetheless. That means she'll advertise me first to the seniors! Sucker!! It doesn't matter if I don't have much to offer and I'm useless if I get chosen then that adult will be stuck with me! Fufufu!!" Ayumi grinned and mongoule internally once more.
The setting of an orphan child error was competitive... Fighting for worth, it was nobody's fault.
It's a competition and the most promising sets of value are the ones who get adopted.
The life of an abandoned child living in a compartment orphanage, struggling to make paid dues, to everyone dying to leave.
Two showers a week and mostly one meal a day.
Ayumi Sora knew that better than anyone but she had a bizarre plan.
Ayumi wasn't an intellectual intelligence genius or a superpower esper. She even had burdens of dead weights that generally did her no good. However she had one talent, she had an incredible power of "common sense".
While children her age had a vivid imagination, and a pure narrow minded mindset. Ayumi Sora had a bizarre clear observational logical sense.
When her peers spoke purely cruel without a second thought, Ayumi carefully spoke cautiously. When they weren't concerned for their surroundings and chaotically broke something of value, Ayumi would be the one to plan to properly play pacific games outdoors and indoors.
She was also wise enough to play both sides.
Example; while her peers would do something that could theoretically pose trouble in the future for themselves, Ayumi would cautiously warn them not to continue their acts. But wouldn't press the subject enough to get her point across. As an orphan she would allow her fellow peers to trouble themselves, but state she at least warn them. (It was the act of saying welp I tried.) So her chances of getting adopted is more likely than the troublesome child but also played the game to act as if she supported that same troublesome child.
It was the innocent devilish perception of being a child but dangerously known exactly that. The terrifying "common sense," of Ayumi Sora.
Note: "Not an actual ~ superpower ~
("This was the plan.") Ayumi internally calculated. ("This is my first day at the new orphanage, so I must fulfill the following conditions; 1 gain the landlord's favor, 2 gain my new housemates support, 3 gain a superiority prioritizing favor while keeping all my competitive opponents down a peg.")
"Ummm... We're here already." Kyung Mi notified Ayumi cautiously.
"Oh!! I apologize! I sort of dazed off." Ayumi quickly improved her attentiveness, while unbuttoning her own seatbelt.
"Understandable, after all it was a long ride." Kyung Mi expresses with a slight sigh.
Once the two of them stepped out of the Honda Fit, Ayumi's eyes nervously surveyed the soulless quiet square building ahead.
Perspiration began to break into Ayumi's face. Her anxieties once again tried to possess her. She squeezed the flippers of her dolphin hat tightly, taking three deep breaths.
"Do you need a second?" Kyung Mi fretted, taking a kneeling position to attend to the orphan.
This intense emotion wasn't exclusive to Ayumi, it was just the genuine overwhelming structure of being brought to a facility such as the Agency Education Department in Academy City.
"I heard Asunaro Park looks a lot more friendly." Ayumi commented, avoiding eye contact with the building.
"Sorry to disappoint you kid but you gotta take what you can get. Adults don't like spoiled rotten brats." Kyung Mi shrugs with a shallow expression.
"Right! Sorry!!"
"That's more like it."
♦
Ayumi surveyed the shoddy large facility while Kyung Mi expressed casually the building's wearabouts.
"(1); for the time being, you'll be taking care and supervision by me here. You will sleep, eat, bathe, and learn here. Hallway (B) is where the main homeroom is. The main homeroom is where you'll study and be taught in this classroom. Hallway (C) is where you'll eat at the cafeteria. Outside is where you'll have time for exercises, recess, and time to see if you develop or can improve upon your esper ability. (A) is where you'll sleep or come to my office room where you'll have meetings with particular guests, usually that would be for adoption purposes. I know it's quite small but we can manage, we always do.
(2); "Maintain decent behavior and follow the regiment.
(3); "Question?" Kyung Mi stopped herself mid-sentence with a cross eye daunting stare. She hands Ayumi a pamphlet while taking a step back. "Are you an esper?"
"Uhh yeah but it's complicated... I'm level (0)."
"Oh good! ... Wait complicated?!"
The Kyung Mi watches Ayumi randomly open doors around the facility, peering puzzled at the light blue hair girl causal swapping. Until she stood annoyed to watch Ayumi open a closet door that supposedly was supposed to be locked with a key.
"I can't do this at will but I can grasp an understanding of the structural blueprint of a building. But so far all I know how to do is open locked doors and can perceive anything that feels off about the design of a house or building. So far my previous researcher called it Architecture Perception. But I wish I got to name it. I would have named it Dolphin memory or something?" Ayumi giggled.

"Well don't do that again." With a blunt stare and tone Kyung Mi closed the closet shut. Ayumi belweiredly took a step back from the distaunting landlord. "Way to expose that I haven't gotten this fix sense for a year or so... ago... forget about it."
"Oh?! Sorry!!"
"Don't be ... Well, sorry. But for this once not to be. I should have just brought up rule (4) first."
(4); "Esper abilities are prohibited to use inside!!!" Kyung Mi's imaginary exclamation marks cartoonishly stabbed into Ayumi who squeal worming against the ground. Of course this was just an exaggeration as this wasn't really happening.
"Ekk!!" Ayumi stood there pale as if she was publicly shot by light in a darkroom. Of course another vague exaggerated expression from Ayumi.
"Oh Geez you have a big imagination don't you?" Kyung Mi causally commented with a peer.
("Blah!! Stupid Ayumi!! Don't screw up, you're already making yourself look stupid in front of the landlord!! Remember the plannnnsssss!!!")
The words of "{(1) Gain the landlord's favor}" shake internally in Ayumi's head.
Before Ayumi knew it, she was already in the home room classroom, put upon the spotlight of observing survey orphan gazes. Ayumi could feel the adrenaline of another panic attack. She quickly took steps controlling her breathing but failed to manage the dampness of her sweaty perspiration.
"This is your new roommate class. She will be another such as yourselves, living with you all. I want you all to get along. Go ahead, why don't you properly introduce yourself." Kyung Mi gestures, taking a seat and studying Ayumi and the rest of the orphans.
"My name is Ayu..."
"* Munch ~ Munch *"
"... Ayumm ..."
"* Munch ~ Munch *"
The dark shoulder-length hair who was eating within the classroom-like setting. Kyung Mi grew irritated with her loud obnoxious smacking, throwing a piece of chalk at her. "It's already enough you're eating in the classroom! Can you eat quietly?! Ringo-Chan!!"
"Why? I'm almost finished." Yuzuriha Ringo the young orphan states bluntly and shallowly."
"Because of manners! Imbecile!" Kyung Mi ruthlessly shouts, hammering her desk.
"She doesn't understand. Forgive her." Ryuugou Tomoka, the long light brunette sitting next to Ringo, gestured to a wave. "Why don't you sit next to us."
"Tomoka-Chan! She hasn't finished her introduction!"
Seven year old orphan kicks his desk and grunts. "It's just another girl anyways! At this rate ("I; the great Kojie-Boku!!"), Saburo-Kun, and Hamasaki-Kun will lose just about every vote! And what's with the silly dolphin hat anyways?!" Despite how rude and obnoxious he appears to be glaring at Ayumi. But all the Dolphin girl noticed was his top-knot bun where strands round up like a fireball.
"Oh well, too bad twerp!" Sticking out her tongue and then shouting, Kyung-Mi ruthlessly flicked her middle finger at the seven year old.
"We lose every vote because you always speak in third person." Saburo vents.
("Yikes!!") Ayumi thought to herself while her pale face exposed her anxiety. ("I had an odd suspicion... But this landlord is really unprofessional!")
Ayumi's common sense starts to tingle. ("And what's with these kids?! They're all a bunch of weirdos?!")
(Note: "Ayumi forgetting she is 10...")
"Speaking of Hamasaki, where the hell are those brats?!!" Kyung-Mi's face swells up red? Crossing her arms while pondering.
"Weren't you supposed to pick them up?" Saburo comments, raising his hand.
"... Change of plans." Kyung-Mi expresses with a shrug, devoiding all eye contact from the orphans.
"Why?" The curious Saburo eyes glued upon Kyung-Mi seeking to instigate.
Eventually the irritated Kyung-Mi helplessly peered at the observing survey eyes of the orphans.
(Note: "Of course once more the munching Yuzuriha Ringo held no mind (~ lol ~)
"Hey! WHY don't you damn brats mind your own damn business!! I was just making inquiry calculations!!" Kyung-Mi throws a tantrum and shouts, squirming like a child.
" ... ... ... Oh shit." After a moment of silence a dull expression that exposes Kyung-Mi's irresponsible nature, leans against her chair in defeat. Questioning if she should search their whereabouts.
"Yup, sounds about right?!" The orphans comment at the same time.
("What kinda adult are you?!!") Ayumi inter thoughts squeal.
"*Thump!!*"
With a sudden flashy entrance, Tedashii carelessly kicked the door open answering the class concerns. Tedashii slurps from his stolen soda can from a certain unfortunate vending machine, before he begins his showboating. "The mastermind genius that's next in line to leave this cramp up horse douse returned!"
Kuroyoru Umdori who silently remained still with her very own stolen soda can from a certain unfortunate vending machine, stomach growl, spoiling whatever buildup the wavy brown hair youngster orphan was about to cook.
But it didn't discourage the scheming Hamasaki who twirls and flexes, while boastfully lifting up the hood from his scientific coat. "But mark my words, it will be the last time!! Sense I "pity" you all and gracefully return. I believe it's only right to share whatever food, you shrubs have left."
~ * Munch * ~ * Munch * ~
Yuzuriha Ringo began to eat faster, munching and smacking louder.
"... So." Saburo said, annoyed while shrugging.
"You know Hamasaki-Kun, that would have only worked if the great Kojie-Boku did that. Are you stealing my techniques? Word of advice: if you're gonna steal from my movesets, you can at least use them on the right target!" The top-knot fireball bun orphan protested, wavering his palm. "Anyways something seriously more important is going on here Hamasaki-Kun we're being invaded!! It's just terrible!! Hey... Are you listening?"
Hearing, watching, Ringo devoured the remnants of the bag of chips, Tedashii and Kuroyoru eyes began to twitch.
The two desperately peered at Kyung-Mi who shrugs and protests.
"Don't look at me, I've warned you." Kyung-Mi brushed off the watery puppy eyes of the delinquents.
"The bottomless hole is eating everything!! Do something Hamasaki-Kun!!" Kuroyoru cried.
"Chum!! Right! Did you not hear me back there! Sense I "~ PITY ~ you all ~ and gracefully return. Eh?!"
~ * Munch!! Munch!! ~ MUNCH!!! * ~
"Okay! Okay!! You're really starting to pissed me off now! Ringo-Chan!!"
"But you always return Hamasaki-Kun because no one wants you." Positively said by the young brunette Tomoka, who cheerfully thumbs up an offended eye twitching Tedashii.
"~ Tete ~ She's right you know." Kuroyoru giggles, before sticking her tongue out to mock her fellow comrade.
"Last time I checked you're hungry too!"
As the classroom bickered, Ayumi stood front center pale. (Seriously... What the hell's happened?! I'm the new roommate here! Why does anyone care about my existence?!!")
Two things were going wrong. She was irrelevant! Ayumi and her common sense allowed her to take advantage of the opportunities. But there were no opportunities for common advantages to seize. The setting and individuals were too bizarre for any sort of room for common sense. It wasn't as if Ayumi hadn't experienced something odd, it was just that what was in front of her was unfamiliar. Perspiration breaks through Ayumi's face, fretting the arrival of another panic attack.
*Bi~zz~ng!"
The bell rings and the orphan child errors eyes beam at the door. Whoever or whatever that sound confirms, definitely makes Ayumi's introduction irrelevant as the kids spouted out their chairs to the window.
Self aware Ayumi scowls at the sight of the child errors who fought against the window. It was clear as day her presentation was over before it began.
Fighting for the sight of knowing who was outside. The setting of an orphan child error was competitive... Fighting for worth, it was nobody's fault. So the moment beckon hope arises, this family would turn on each other under the flicker of an eye.
It's a competition and the most promising sets of value are the ones who get adopted.
"That smells good! What ya got theirs?!" The emo loli-gothic orphan said aside from the Ayumi.
"Wha? Hey?!!" Ayumi quickly eluded her bento away from Kuroyoru. "This is for me..."
"What's with your hat?!" Kuroyoru immediately shifted questions swiftly. Ayumi's eyes swirl in puzzlement at the loli-gothic orphan's sudden interest. Especially the fact that she seems like the only orphan not interested in guests that could possibly adopt her.
Even the wavy brown hair boy she entered the classroom with was even fighting at the sights of the window. But not Kuroyoru Umidori. It seemed as if she wasn't interested at all?"
"Aww sit down already! You know, no one came for you sorry bunch of hazard criminals! It's just Kagun-san so don't get your hopes up. Kyung-Mi confirmed at the exit of the classroom.
"Tch! Why does he keep visiting? Doesn't he have his own losers to teach? Watch? Or whatever?" Tedashii complained.
"You can sit down now." Kyung-Mi gave Ayumi a careless gesture wave that showed she even no longer cared about the proper introductions.
"Wut!" Ayumi's face broke toonishly pale. But with a simple sigh she gave in.
After Kyung Mi lefted, Ayumi scowls once more as she simply thinks to herself how much Kyung-Mi sucked as a child guardian.
"Hey?! Where do you think you're going?" The wavy brown hair delinquent suddenly appeared carelessly wrapping his arm around Ayumi's shoulder.
While for a second the dolphin hat girl immediately blushes from his bright beaming smile.
"New gal right? Wanna know the ins and outs, to survive this crud of a dumpster fire?" Tedashii thumbs up with his hand and winks.
Ayumi's beet face flared up while her thoughts rapidly shouted internally; ("Wha?!! What is he doing??!! Seriously?! Ow?! What is this? Why is my heart beating suddenly... I mean he's kinda... cute.")
But that however didn't last as the ominous aura that loomed behind her, by a certain loli-goth. Ayumi gulped, shrieking a sense of despair as her common sense easily spelled out her scenario.
"Okay... But are you gonna eat that?" A drooling wavy brown hair boy revealed his true imbecile face, desperately.
Ayumi gawks, disappointingly disgusted with whatever impression Tedashii blossomed to her desiring instincts were instantly revoked. ("... Seriously... Nevermind.") Ayumi thought to herself with Tedashii and Kuroyoru hovering over her.
♦
Step 2# Gain my housemates support
"Wow! This is incredible! I heard about bentos like these but never tasted this one before!" The black hair with bleached blonde-edges girl nibbling on the egg rolls within the antique bento box.
"Neither have I..." The glowing pale dolphin girl lowered her head, attempting to cover her watery emerald eyes.
"That's pretty unfortunate! You really missed out! I wonder why you shared your first?" The sarcastic wavy brown hair delinquent gestures his hand to his ear awaiting a response. He chopped down on and mowed through the dumplings of the bento.
"I didn't."
(Note: Peer Pressure)
At the rooftop of the child welfare establishment, that specialized in taking care of child errors. The dolphin hat girl's operation plan was forced into motion.
As much as she would rather prefer a specific order, from one to four. The two delinquents suddenly kindly suggest showing her around.
"What's with the hat? It's pretty stupid." Tedashii obnoxiously points.
{"Wow he doesn't even wait! After munching down my bento he quickly reveals his true colors."} Ayumi's thoughts effectively steer her face into a scowl.
"What's with that look?" Tedashii questions closing in on Ayumi's face. "I'm calculating that you're infuriated and aggravated. Do you know experiencing too much anger triggers the human body to release stress hormones, which over time can take a toll on the heart health?"
Ayumi gulped, she tightly held her flippers, as her moisture exuded through the pores of her skin " ... Really?"
"That's right! Even momentary anger from the changes in facial expressions can result in changes in the heart that worsen the muscles ability to pump blood. Which can lead to high blood pressure and subsequent complications, like heart disease, heart attacks, strokes! And metabolic syndrome."
Ayumi didn't know half of the things Tedashii spoke of, her "superiority, common sense superpower" never actually made her intelligent. It supposedly only works upon common knowledge, awareness, and communication. (Well technically speaking it would have normally worked if the wavy brunette hair boy spoke like an ordinary individual.)
"Oh geez we got it already, future Nagatenjouki Academy honor roll student!" Kuroyoru rolls her eyes, shoving Tedashii aside. "Honestly, why do you want to become someone I hate so bad?"
"Not my fault you hate people with a future. And besides I'm a genius it was just a matter of time, someone noticed my talent without obsessing over superpowers." Tedashii catapults his head with his arms while positioning himself against the corner. "Honestly why do you follow me around knowing the inevitable?"
"Te~te~te because no one wants a non-superpowered individual like you! You'll never get into that school and become like that stupid bunny whore."
"What was that?!" Tedashii throws a quick tantrum, gesturing his fist.
"Anyways! Think about what you say? You know Tomoka-Chan has a weak heart so don't go around making jokes about hearts!"
"Tch! ... Whatever... It was a warning, not a joke." The wavy brown hair boy repositioned himself once more like before, laying against the wall. "And besides Tomoka-Chan can't hear us from up here anyways."
"... A ... weak heart?" Ayumi mumbled repeatedly.
Kuroyoru leaps towards Ayumi's face.
Ayumi winces, anxiously avoiding eye contact with Kuroyoru.
"That's right! So here's the gig ~here~ !!" Kuroyoru said, sliding and perching herself against Ayumi.
Ayumi flusherly blushes as Kuroyoru points at the other orphanage that hung around the playground.
Kuroyoru gestures, twirling her index finger swiftly as she points to the kids below from the rooftop. "I'll only tell you about this competition once and only once! So here's the thing as I mentioned before, the long light brunette hair girl down there is Tomoka-Chan. She has a weak heart and so that's why adults don't want her. She's very loyal and in most cases if not involved she's a tattle teller, so make sure she's involved or never finds out if you're ever scheming. Oh yeah(s)! She's level 0 so no one wants her because of that too!"

"That doesn't make any sense... what kind of combination is that?" The dolphin hat girl peers bewilderedly cross eyed.
"You're telling me?" Tedashii agrees, frustrated and nods, throwing a shrug.
"But it still means that Ringo-chan is smarter than you, right?" Kuroyoru saids poundering while taking Tedashii's white coat and hovering the hood over her head.
"Huh?!" Tedashii clicks his tongue, smuggling a glare at Kuroyoru.
"I mean it's true te~te~te! After all, she can telekinetically bend a spoon and lift a pebble of rocks unlike stupid Hamasaki-Kun." Kuroyoru saids with a nod, while Ayumi thumbs up.
"You wanna say that again?!" Tedashii curls up his waver fist.
But the girls ignore his dimwitted facial expression.
Finally Kuroyoru stood close to Ayumi pointing to the two child error boys and added. "That fireball bun head boy is Kojie-Kun! He talks in third person and the guy with a spiked slightly upfront hair guy; Saburo-Kun is terrible at math so he failed to develop his superpowers because of that! But they are at least second behind me and Hamasaki-Kun! So they're pretty strong and kinda useless at the same time if that makes sense."
("Yeah that definitely doesn't sound consistent enough to make sense...") Ayumi thought internally poundering bewilderedly.
"You left one more thing out Kuroyoru-Chan, that mouth of his is why he's in the loser's bracket of errors bunch, kinda like you right about now." Tedashii encompassed, playfully toying with his own fingers to walk among the surface he sat upon.
"Right! Saburo-Kun is pretty messy so he happens to annoy potential adopters." Kuroyoru nods while pondering.

("But from what I witnessed, I theorize that being issue for the majority of you all.") Ayumi internally thought, peering at the delinquents. ("With a useless landlord that can't raise them with proper behavior. If that's the case... nonetheless this should be effortlessly achievable.") While Ayumi's face on the outside displays a simple minded person, her internal ominous thoughts showcase a mischievous grin.
"(Step: 2 gain my new housemates' support!)" Was what Ayumi calculated her lost bento wasn't all for nothing... Well that was until...
Kuroyoru's face leaps towards Ayumi's space, breaking her out of her inner plotting, "So you got that?! We're all useless here! So what's your weakness, dolphin head? I mean it's only fair, sense we share ours."
("... Oh crap! ... Oh crap! ... She got me!") Ayumi internally whimpered and shook.
The setting of an orphan child error was competitive... Fighting for worth, it was nobody's fault.
It's a competition and the most promising sets of value are the ones who get adopted. It was no coincidence that others understood this, while living in such a world.
At this point Ayumi's strategy, her plan, had all backfired simultaneously.
Her Step 3 plan; Gain superiority prioritizing favor while keeping all competitive opponents down a peg. Was taken to motion by none other than Kuroyoru Umidori.
"Weakness?! I mean... I didn't really ask." Ayumi broke a smile avoiding eye contact with the darting illuminated eyes from the loli-goth.
"... Oh... So you think we're weak?"
"What no!!" Ayumi denied throwing her arms into the air to declare innocence.
"But do you consider them a weakness?"
"How did we get here?" Ayumi flusterly smiled bewilderingly. "It was you who brought up exposures to begin with... Ow opp!!" Ayumi immediately enfolded her mouth silently. However Kuroyoru and Tedashii's peering eyes lock sights upon the dolphin hat girl without mercy.
"Ha! I knew it! You're an open book?" Kuroyoru shouts, pressed against Ayumi while poking her cheek.
"Ha! Another con artist!" Tedashii said, brushing a wavering hand gesture.
("Great now he's on the offensive too!") Ayumi wailed internally.
Kuroyoru studies Ayumi's perspiration face, grinning a malicious expression. She had that ominous bright smirk that hid her true persona.
"Cool hat by the way!" Kuroyoru praised playfully meddling with the flippers of the baby blue hair girl's dolphin hat.
"Umm... Thanks." Ayumi replied thankfully, politely jerking her dolphin hat's flippers away from Kuroyoru.
"That's supposed to be a dolphin right?"
"... Yeah!" Ayumi anxiously surveys Kuroyoru close eyes, smirking face.
"You must really like them because I see you have a lot of goods that look like them." Kuroyoru surveys, noting other cosmetics dolphin appealing accessories that Ayumi wore.
"Oh Yeah!" Ayumi enthusiastically nods.
Eagerness and excitement immediately processes Ayumi's body, with bright green eyes that beam at Kuroyoru. "I heard they're amazing creatures! Kind! Oh and very smart too! They demonstrate abilities to mimic, quickly learn, solve problems, and they have absolute self awareness."
"Heard?! How do you know they're that good if you haven't seen them in person?" Kuroyoru's question confined Ayumi into a lack of assurances. Ayumi couldn't help but draw back into her inner shell.
"! ... Well! I mean... I know it's true! Because I will see them myself when I get adopted! I'll ask my new caretakers to take me to the aquarium." Ayumi mumbled, fidgeting her fingers together.
"Oh so that's your plan... Whelp if that's how you plan to see them you will never see them!!" Kuroyoru saids, breaking space and sitting against the edge of the rooftop across from Ayumi.
"How so?! You don't know that!" Ayumi clenches her fist easily exposing a nerve that had been personally struck.
"Well it's simple." Kuroyoru crossed her arms and shrugged. "Because no one wants you too!"
"How so?!"
"Because you don't seem strong and adults only want strong people! You're the type that needs to weaken others to have a chance! A fish that hardly gets to eat due to the alpha!!
"They don't need to know that! By the time they realize it'll be too late!"
"Too late?! Are you stupid?! They'll just get their refund."
"Dummy! You can't refund a human being!"
"Oh is that right! Then how about they'll just abandon you and find someone else more interesting!"
"But I am an interesting person!! You don't have to be tough around the edges to be desirable! After all, I'm as cute as a dolphin!!" Ayumi's face swells up like a red air balloon ready to explode.
Tedashii lifts himself, finally perking interest. He gestured a ponderous glance with his flip flop phone.
"Cute?! Who other than yourself said you're cute brat!! Hahahaha!!" Kuroyoru trolls finger pointing. Kuroyoru prepares a fighting stance as she awaits for Ayumi to showcase what she's capable of. "I wonder what level you are? Either way we'll find out just how useful you ar-..."
"Eh... That's not true!! I'm not... I'm not... Eh Waah Waaaaa!!!" Kuroyoru and Tedashii stood there shaking, blankly staring at the crying dolphin hat girl.
"Ohh... She's a cry baby too..." Tedashii noted, quickly glanced at Kuroyoru then to Ayumi.
♦
The wavy brown hair boy pats Ayumi's back tenderly tending to her care. "We were just trying to make you mad to see what kinda superpower you had. My bad."
(My bad?! You just couldn't ask?! JERKS!! And You Kuroyoru Umidori I truly underestimated you!! Darn it!! Kuroyoru Umidori!! This was my first day, and you already made me cry! How humiliating! You will be my center of attention, my rival from here on! You'll pay! For this!! I won't turn my sights from you and that's a promise!!") Ayumi internally thought to herself while tearfully glaring at a Kuroyoru who dumbfoundedly avoided eye contact.
"Geez you overdid it this time Kuroyoru-Chan you made her cry." Tedashii said, clicking his tongue.
"Oh what?! I have to apologize now... Umm... Uh?! Ow! That wasn't supposed to happen!" Kuroyoru crossed her arms with a pout.
"Well what's supposed to happen? You imbecile, we just met her, and we kinda owe her anyway." Tedashii shrugs.
"Now we owe her?! For what? For being a pushover! It's not like we threatened her."
(That's it! That look from earlier!") Ayumi thought and quietly smirks maliciously.
"Thank you smart guy!" Ayumi suddenly spoke up, wiping her face. "Kuroyoru-Chan is a big meanie!"
"Wha?!!" Kuroyoru leaped back and shook. "I knew it! You're just trying to plan your next move."
"Now you're making desperate assumptions?" Tedashii sighs in annoyance. "Yup, this is what I have to deal with all the time. I tell her to chill out all the time."
"No you don't!! And why are you acting like you weren't also bullying her?!" Kuroyoru protests.
"... Hamasaki-San ... Right?" Ayumi suddenly tugged her arms around the boy's wavy brown hair boy's arm. Kuroyoru eyes peered seeing the bright blue hair girl's darting menacing face that hid behind innocents. "Unlike mean-old Kuroyoru-San I believe you'll make it to Nagatenjouki Academy when you're of age."
"Really?! I mean! Of course I will!" Tedashii's head swelled up big and red. "That small little black turp doesn't know talent even if they were level 5! Hahahah!!!"
"What was that?!! Talent like how you're too slow minded to do the only thing you're good at doing?!" Kuroyoru scowls a mug glaring at Tedashii.
"What was that air blower!!"
"Right, I forgot!! I still have to kick your butt!!"
"Oh! I thought you intentionally forgot outta fear!!"
"Owe THAT'S IT YOU'RE DEAD!!" Kuroyoru sparks up a nitrogen fist. Ayumi's eyes popped out as she didn't exactly think they would become so violent to each other.
"Wait hold up!! Guys, I think we should just calm down!"
"STAY OUTTA THIS!!" Kuroyoru and Tedashii shouted before butting heads with one another.
"Ekk!!!" Ayumi squeals.
